So what's actually the appeal of this character...

So what's actually the appeal of this character? All he really seems to do is go around telling people that they're big stupid poofaces and trying to turn them into gore.

Mindless rampages.

Satire of self insertism.

He's just a fun overpowered evil superhero version villain like Red Hulk, Zoom, Sentry, World War hulk, kid miracleman,Plutonian,Tyrant and others

He represents Sup Forums, literally.

Would use his powers to take over the world.

>every prime time poster is literally superboy prime himself

Same appeal as Reverse-Flash and Black Manta: Johns' autism

These.

He's unique among villains because of his motivation. Him and Earth-Two Superman represented the dichotomy between deconstruction and reconstruction in superhero comics. Superboy's love for the characters turned into a desire for more suffering, more conflict, more destruction, while Superman's love turned into disgust for the modern style and a desire for wholesale return to the way it used to be. The point of the story is that neither of these are good, and Superman ultimately realizes that the storytelling style can continue to progress while still returning to the ideals of the past, and Superboy came to the opposite conclusion that current DC just sucks should just be trolled and fucked with into oblivion.

The latter is what makes Superboy fun; he's just a fucking dick who hates DC yet is still obsessed with it and wants it to cater only to his tastes.

Since Doomsday Clock is almost definitely going to be a rehash of this concept and hints about that theme have been dropped all over the DCU since Rebirth, that's why so many feel he's about to come back and be PRIME TIME again.

Red Hulk wasn't fun

I really like the lean body type hes got, works better for Superman than the bulky one they give him usually.

oh and PRIME TIME of course

I hope he comes back in Doomsdays Clock and tries to fight Dr, Manhattan just to get totally obliterated

>not Prime defeating the nihilism and dehumanization of comics that is Watchmen

pleb

also reminder that Prime left his universe before Watchmen #1 was out, so far as we know he never read it.

well the reason he's got a lean body is because he's still a teen-ager and as powerful as he is he hasn't reached his true full potential as an adult. Maybe this time he'll come back as a much older, more powerful superman prime.

What I really want to see is a Prime redemption arc. What better symbol of the ethos of Rebirth than a hero who became an angry edgelord learning to use his immense power for good again.

Could happen, I mean his first kills were accidental. Dumb teen titans threw themselves at him to get murdered.

Already happened.

This would be cool if Prime kicked everyone ass first.

Prime is a perfect villain because he's a total piece of shit. He's whiny, entitled, angsty, naive, and hypocritical. He has next to no redeeming qualities, even minor ones like being grandiose, (intentionally) funny, or being kind to animals. It's the whining/tantrums that really sell it.

He exists to be The Absolute Worst so that when he loses, you think "Finally. He had it coming."
