Well, I generally liked Exterminatrix in Morrison's Marvel Boy, and she did a face turn in that comic.

I mean, the comic ends with her declaring cosmic jihad on America, but that's kind of standard Morrison anti-hero. Jihad was pretty popular in the early 00s.

Did I miss an issue? The last one I saw storytimed ended with that truly terrifying artist's interpretation of Exterminatrix gloating about how she was going to take down Chavez for reasons.

I think the last time I saw something like that wa s few years back in DC, where few members of the League had been captured by some space warlord. He'd had Superman bound in strength-inihbiting shackles, had his eyes covered and a couple other things. Then Supes used his frost breath to weaken the metal of the bindings and break free. The villain screamed in frustration. "Do I have to kill you to incapacitate you?!" He took multiple reasonable precautions based on what he knew of Superman.

Here, these guys just seemed to have grabbed whatever cuffs were sitting on the shelf. Well, we can't have Chavez be threatened or inconvenienced for more than a page, now can we?

This is the exact pose that stuntmen do to intimidate hero characters without actually hurting the act. All I can hear is that exchange from Arrested Development where a stuntman threatens Michael in front of his son:

Yes, you missed an issue. Last issue had Exterminatrix, in the guise of the dean of the college, start a curfew because one of the professors disappeared (who she kidnapped to justify starting the curfew). She told the student body that the curfew was only temporary but anyone who breaks the curfew would be expelled and during the curfew, all teleportation would be banned as well.

America, being the rebellious "fuck the rules" latinx that she is, decided "fuck the rules," broke curfew and started teleporting around the campus so that she could find the missing professor. Exterminatrix, having only started the curfew knowing that America wouldn't be able to help herself but break it, had her campus super-police arrest America for it.
