Destroying Anny's self esteem is a full time job
It's tough love. If you tell someone they're work is great when it's not, you end up with those circle jerking artists on Deviantart and Tumblr.
Bruh
Chances are Tom will show that somehow Antony says those things as compliments but they come out wrong because his autism.
This is all going to end painfully, isn't it?
>tell someone they're work is great when it's not
A shame your parents didn't take your advice.
Believe in Tony. He's got this.
The way i see this play out is that Annie is basically a ticking bomb and Tony will probably do or say something fully autistic and she will just explode in some rant on him, making things way worse than they are no.
That's funny, Donlan, treating Antimony as if she was worth anything! What a jokester, haha!
Best girl coming through.
That's not Margo.
It's either going like or Kat will pull some shenanigans that forces the two to work together. Like "I will nuke weeks of progress if you don't get your shit together Tony call the cops I don't give a fuck" something because it's already been shown that he'll simply shut down and walk away when it gets to be too much for him. Hell I'm surprised he didn't already
Objectively wrong. Slavic alt sluts are always the best.
If you tell someone their work is great when it is, then they get complacent and never strive to do better. Always call things low-quality, just to be safe.
This.
This isn't awkward at all.
> grabs some popcorn
I want Tony to stare Annie right in the face as he fondles Kat from behind.
Tom had better subvert our expectations in this chapter, 'cos I'm fucking bored to death with this whole: Annie tries to bond with her dad; Tony responds with pure autism shit.
when are they just gonna let annie have some 1 on 1 time with tony. its literally the only way he'll stop acting like a robot.
You wouldn't want to subject your worst enemy to alone time with Annie!
Tony clearly has problems with Annie beyond his inability to talk in groups thing. Pay attention.
>If you discourage your kids you're actually encouraging them
This some ass backwards shit.
do it right
>I'm getting married, dad!
>I see.
>He seems veryinteresting and smart. Are you sure he wants to marry you.
>I got my first car!
>I see.
>You could have bought a car that cost less instead of wasting money.
>I'm going to die, Dad!
>I see.
>You're not even considerate enough to grow old and die after your father.
I wish I was Tony. I'd give my hand for the opportunity of emotionally abusing Annie.
Can someone explain the Annie hate?
You take at least one thing and say it was a decent start and just needed x thing reworked to be good.
hm, sounds like bad advice to me.
It's just a couple of our dedicated autists who have been trying to force the same memes for years.
Her life is miserable and that is my fetish.
I know you're memeing, but just in case. Negative reinforcement doesn't work. Positive reinforcement is much better.
You tell them they did a good job, but can do even better, and point out the aspects they can improve on.
Negative reinforcement will lead to aversion due to the fear of (inevitable) failure, with the accompanying negative emotions, will lead to anxiety when performing the task.
Positive reinforcement instead will have them look forwardd to the wave of pleasure that comes with the sense of accomplishment for having succeeded. And that is the best motivator. It's why addictive things are addictive.
he's already been alone with her in the past.
that's incorrect, not that I expected better of you
Yeah but I'm the boss, so I'm always right.
I assume you learned that from psychology class in college, not real life experience?
Oh god, Tony.
Trips confirm.
This is a good way to end up with cynical piece of shit kids who will end up browsing Sup Forums
>implying Einstein wouldn't browse Sup Forums all day
>had Sup Forums existed at the time einstein would have been shitposting instead of working
i can verify that positive reinforcement works better - yes, with experience. specifically, mine
now that i can reflect on my past with some modicum of self-awareness, i've noticed that when it came from my leaders and superiors, negative reinforcement had a terrible effect on me - i ended up despising both myself and/or whoever made me feel that way, and instead of working on what i was supposed to do, i would either wallow in self-pity and self-hatred, or try to find a way to spite whoever made me feel that way
on the other hand, positive reinforcement from my superiors made me want to work harder and better - as a bonus, it made me fear FAILING the expectations i learned they had of me. negative reinforcement tended to make me either overly tense and unresponsive, focusing on pleasing whoever gave me such reinforcement instead of working on the activity - instead of doing what i was supposed to be doing, i'd become passive-aggressive, or kiss ass in the most annoying way possible
yeah, yeah, i know i'm a little bitch, but that's how my mind worked - well, works. it still works that way, unfortunately
on the other hand, negative reinforcement from those i considered my peers or my subordinates seemed to have an oddly positive effect on my work - i wanted to show them up - humiliate, defeat
it's really a balance of the 2 that gets the best results. the extremes will never get u the best results. it's all about balance, and understanding that everyone is different, and knowing what the situation calls for. this is how a good manager works
Wh-what are you saying? That comments aren't binary and aren't necessarily either completely positive or completely negative? Wh-wh-wh-what bullshit is this?
>he fell for the self-confidence and positive reinforcement meme
Hah. My parents never encouraged me and look where that got me!
Somewhere the non existent ghost of the mom is disappointed in Tony.
positive reinforcement is why we have all these "A for effort" assholes who can't take criticism
I found reality to be one need to have mix, Constant Negative breaks motivation, Constant Positive cause stagnation and also distrust since people will outright lie about something bad being good, and once you realize that ALL praise becomes false praise.
Annie exploding at Tony might actually be a good thing for them.
Tom's stressed that Annie repressing her emotions is a bad thing, and between the flashback to Brinnie and how he hooked up with Surma, it's pretty clear that Tony responds emotionally best to direct attempts to engage with him (Brinnie was coy and got no where, Surma just pinned him down).
Tony's also expressed the sentiment that he's sure that Annie hates him because he failed to saver her mother. It could be argued that what he's currently doing is, in part, an attempt to keep himself distant from Annie to spare them both emotional pain, because he doesn't realize that what he's doing now is worse because no one's actually told him.
Why is Annie blushing so hard?
Nah, if he'd taken even a college psychology 101 course he'd have learned what negative reinforcement is, and it's not that. It's reinforcing a desired behavior by removing an aversive stimulus, not doing something qualitatively 'negative.'
Daddy Dick that isn't a dog's.
>I'm going to make tacos, Dad!
>I see.
>A final disgrace to your family's legacy, turning your back on generations of making golabki.
>Tony continues separately spreading mayostard and mustardayonnaise.
>If only he knew about mustmayostardayonnaise, he could have connected better with his daughter.
you COULD NOT remove my dick from Gamma's ass if it got in there
He dissed her in front of her one friend
AGAIN
...
You'd have to remove mine, first, boy.
Fucking Annie
I wish ...
NO
NOT FOR YOU
