Will Disney ever do anymore traditional animated movies again? After Princess and the Frog I thought they were going to go back to that format, but they haven't.

Why would they do that?
Because their CG films are trash
tangled was pretty good m8
> Princess and the Frog
was a flop. They are not going back because of it.

We need new Shrek ie a game changer, but in 2d.
But.. Why do you want to give money to Disney? it's a scummy company that buys, mines and fires after you're no longer needed.
Maybe for one of their anniversaries. 100th maybe.
>film with Disneys first black princess and predominantly black cast
>the villain is a debt collector
>the moral of the story is to be happy with what you have and not put yourself into debt
>The villain is defeated when his loans come past due
>the main protagonist male learns not to fuck women and run
Loving every goddam laugh, every time
Moana and Tangled were good. Frozen was trash
It had good moral. But cartoons should also entertain. PatF was kind of boring.
I think pony made decent money so hasbro will probably stick with 2d when 2020 comes and they put the movie a year plan into action (I think Hanazuki is first)
If hasbro can keep up a few years of success in that disney might do it sometimes.
oh sure it's the PERFECT moral for a black cast I just can't believe she got away with it
>traditional
You mean 2D.
It wasn't really a flop though. It made 267mil on a 105mil budget despite being slated against some serious competition.
While the 267mil box office is hardly impressive, the 105mil budget pales in comparison to the CG movies they released at the same time like A Christmas Carol (175mil for a 325mil BO) or Toy Story 3 (200mil for a 1bil BO) despite being the most expansive 2D movie of all time.
A flop isn't something that makes a slight profit, it's sopmething like Mars Needs Moms (150mil budget and 39mil BO).
Winnie the Pooh was more of a flop (50mil BO only) but even then its budget was tiny (30mil) compared to most CG movies.
More than 2D flopping it's 3D having the potential for billion dollar franchises that burried 2D for Disney.
>Why do you want to give money to Disney?
Because they have made really good movies.
Frozen would earn not less then if it was 2D. If they air Frozen instead of PatF 2D will live.
>gave us the "Sameface" that plagues all disney females now
>pretty good
"no!"
No Disney exec will ever believe you.
that's pretty amusing, but what about the frogs? ie what takes up 70% of the movie
>timeline where 2D Zootopia is made instead of 3D
Would this create more or less furries?
Not in any foreseeable future, no.
I've heard that nowadays they have only one 2D animation specialist. And he mostly does flash stuff.
It's not like furries are picky
There wouldn't be Judy SFM porn ads around, that's for sure
>Frozen would earn not less then if it was 2D.
I don't believe that. It would probably have earned more than PatF but the last 2D movie to earn close to a billion was the Lion King (which granted it did make more than Frozen adjusted for inflation). The highest grossing 2D movie post 2000 is the damn Simpsons movie.
You don't "create" furries, they're degenerates in the first place.
Wait until they drop animated movies completely, it will all be live actions with CGI soon. Mulan, Aladdin! Hell, they can probably remake Princess and the Frog as live action and have it sell much better than the animated version!
Probably in the next decade or something; if one of the fairy-tail projects that's undoubtedly on it's extended lineup can be pushed for 2D, it'll happen.
I want to see a Zootopia life adaptation.
It's also been suggested that the 3d production pipeline makes it much easier to significantly rework a movie relatively late in the production process.
>this shit taste
3D animated movies do sligthly better than those on similar budgets so I don't why they would do that.
>It's also been suggested that the 3d production pipeline makes it much easier to significantly rework a movie relatively late in the production process.
I guess that would be appealing but aren't 2D assets just as maleable these days? It's not like they're doing traditional 2D animation.
>malleable
>It's not like they're doing traditional 2D animation.
Man, I wouldn't even want another 2D Disney feature if it had to be done with puppet rigs. If that's what you mean by 'malleable', then I'd rather see 2D stay dead. They don't have to go back to pen and paper (why would they anyway when their last two 2D films were done in ToonBoom), but they don't have to resort to using puppet rigs, either.
>Wait until they drop animated movies completely
the day disney drop animation completly will be a terrible day, something of incredible value will be lost forever,im not sure what but it will, and whats worse i can really see this happening someday
>they blamed it on avatar, not the fact movie was played as safe as possible.
in the 90s maybe, now it's just running on ideas borrowed from Pixar.
