Do you think that if Bliss was a character made by Craig McCracken that she would be salvageable or even enjoyable?
I guess it could be argued that it's more of a "soft reboot". The tone is certainly different , as are the girl's powers, the main setting and the conflicts. But the girls seem to retain knowledge of things that happened in the original series.
I'm pretty sure Nigglypuff is unsalvageable as-is. DevianTartlet design, stereotypical blaccent, and everything else points to the writers TRYING WAY TOO FUCKING HARD- this is the kind of shit we'd have seen in the 80's and 90's, not two-thousand-fucking-seventeen.
I thought the thing with Me was... not terrible, but wanton destruction just for the hell of it doesn't really seem like Him's style- he's an artist, not a marauder. He does stuff because he thinks it'll be fun or because he wants to flaunt his cleverness.
So in short, if McCracken had created her or a character like her, she wouldn't have been nearly as retarded (design-wise, not character intelligence-wise) from the start.
Ironically, I think Bliss was absolutely already enjoyable in the special she appeared in, being an undeniable high point in a series with many lows. Showing the negative of a powerpuff (though at the expense of the Professor's credibility) and giving them an older sister was something that wasn't as bad as it sounds, and even if it was mostly how her voice actress portrayed her, I enjoyed the "emotional struggles" she had.
I think if she was made by Craig there would've been a lot more care to her character, especially to her design which is really weird and contrasts too much with the girls, but her character as a whole isn't unsalvageable.
The way it is now, though, they probably shouldn't have brought her back as the writers for this show really aren't that great, and if this is the first episode with her back then it kind of kills her goodbye.
