>The heroes of DC Comics are no strangers to anime, but Batman has never been in a movie like this. Just now, the theatrical trailer for Batman Ninja went live for fans, and the sleek reel follows Bruce Wayne as he goes way back in time.
>The trailer, which can be seen below, shows Batman as the hero goes up against the Joker as usual. However, things take a turn when Batman is somehow transported back to Japan’s earliest days along with some unsavory guests. The trailer shows that the Joker and Harley Quinn have joined Bruce on his time-traveling jaunt, but the hero has some friends of his own around to help.
Hopefully they work on something Justice League related too.

That basket helmet thing is called a kasa. They were most commonly worn by a group called the komuso, which were buddhist monks. Because of the politics of that era leading to really harsh travel restrictions, those monks were some of the few able to travel freely, so ninja and ronin would dress up as those monks to circumvent the law.
So Jason dressing like that implies he's an assassin or a fallen hero that's hiding his identity and acting as a vigilante. Which is basically what Red Hood is.

The weird thing about the Red Hood design is that this particular straw mask is way too tight to conceal a human head while a more typical komuso looked like pic related
