>same lightsaber three times in the poster C'mon, they could've at least given Luke his ROTJ one
Elijah Butler
>3 people all using the same lightsaber Man, its not till you see them all together you realize how kinda lazy that is I just hope this rumoured "new hue" of lightsaber refers to Rey getting an orange one or something in TLJ If nothing else, after all the rage it inspired, it only being "Rey's Lightsaber" for not even one full movie would amuse me no end

Phase 2 is still the best looking IMO I like the First Order bucket, but I think the more angular concepts from the Art Book might have been better. As is, they look a little too 'Apple Storetrooper' to me

>ROTJ on the other hand has the first act be completely disconnected from the rest of the movie It serves as a character study of all the protagonists and their future behavior in the film, as well as releases Han Solo (commander in ESB) to become General for the Rebellion and lead the strike mission to Endor. Furthermore it ties up plot threads from ANH (Jabba was set up as an ancillary antagonist way back when) and ESB (Lando and Chewie going to search for Han). >the pseudo-love triangle...is pointless Not at all, again it continues something set up through the previous two entries and concludes it with the establishment of Leia as Luke's sister, and everybody coming to terms with their love for each other, whether agape or romantic. >Ewoks...filler Not worth the effort of rebutting myself, I'll let Sam Witwer do it for me: youtube.com/watch?v=aJTsQEoIcvA >climax is split into three parts TPM's was split into 4 and was just as good. >only one of the parts has any kind of tension I don't know how anyone could possibly hold that opinion unless they simply don't like spaceships or have a pathological aversion to ewoks. That's like going "dude I never get scared at horror movies haha". The space battle, the duel on the death star, and the ground battle are all equally tense and perfectly edited for the purpose so as not to drag in any one instance.
And the rest of the post is just pseudo-intellectual nonsense masquerading as an argument.
Evan Phillips

Don't drag old arguments into a new thread you idiot

Probably not. Depends on what this Project Resurrection thing turns out to be, and how it connects to TLJ I could see him being the final fight of the expanded campaign
David Lopez
>video is just her putting a couple pieces together >suddenly cuts to her with the finished falcon >"It took me 5 minutes"
Jaxson Ross
Yes. Im actually very confident of that.
Note that Del and Iden's actors were "aged up" for the ST part of the story, whereas Gideon was the opposite, aged down for the OT part of the story. I believe this is because Gideons actor (who is also the most acclaimed of the three) is going to get a Live-Action cameo in TLJ, so they kept the actors likeness most accurate for his ST appearances.
Oliver Brooks
>no drugs I guess he really did go home and rethink his life.
Adam Ward
Probably not but honestly I barely remember him.
Nathan Cruz
yes I'm certain that cringeworthy edgelord video game antagonist will defeat the goody goody player character so that hot topic teenagers and 40 year old neckbeards can get their "imperial perspective" they obsess over
Anthony Cruz
>first, last and only halfway competent trooper in Rebels Poor bastard, the Empire really didn't deserve that level of dedication

Aiden Barnes
There's actually quite a few who get a good ways, but Conservation of Ninjitsu and the necessary protagonist plot armor needed to progress the story ensures they never last. For example, look at the pauldroned trooper in the episode Blood Sisters, he nearly takes out Ketsu until she spears him in the nads.
Hudson Cruz
Ea shouldn't have marketed the game as the Imperial perspective. I honsestly used to like the empire but operation cinder was fucking stupid. I hope we will get new villains, but we're stuck with def Nazis now.
Ryder Jenkins
So, if TLJ makes a point of having her weakness be that everything always came easy for her and now that she is playing with the big leagues, she is going to get her shit pushed in and hard, will that somewhat redeem her character in TFA for you guys?
Carson Foster
>operation cinder was fucking stupid And yet it will always be canon, now and forever. How long before nu-canon becomes just as full of dumb shit as the old EU? Another year? Maybe two?

Logan Bell
>shirtless kylo scene as a filthy ben stan i hope this is the case fingers crossed for reylo too
Daniel Ortiz
user please explain how you would have marketed the game instead.
Because the story was always what it was, you think it would have been smarter to spoil the entire character arc of Iden and Del in the trailers just to avoid pissing off some idiots on the internet?
And yes, I am calling out people assmad about the story as idiots. You paid for a Star Wars story and got it. Nobody expects trailers to spoil twists of movies and games, BF2 is being called out as some kind of idiotic exception. Fuck that.
Josiah Roberts
Operation Cinder made perfect sense for Palpatine, but for the Empire it was fucking retarded. I was hoping that distinction might be what sets the First Order apart from the Empire, but with Snoke being the chuckle fuck he is I'm not hopeful I will actually fucking choke a bitch if it turns out the Story Group killed off Rae Sloane to let Snoke run things.

>Operation Cinder made perfect sense for Palpatine, but for the Empire it was fucking retarded
Didn't Pablo (or someone at Lucasfilm) recently call Operation Cinder strictly an Emperor move, not an Empire move? The Empire just went along with his plans because they were loyal to him, despite Cinder being Sheev's clear "fuck-you" to the Empire itself.
Isaac Rodriguez
The empire was ambiguous.

Just keep the focus on the idea of Iden and Inferno's story. Don't big up the idea its an Imperial Perspective, don't have Janina Gavankar come out on stage at E3 in a full Imperial flight suit and just promote a standard Star Wars game

Iden was okay with Alderaan being destroyed she's a complex character. It doesn't make sense for Admiral Versio to destroy Vardos while the rebels need to be exterminated first. It's also a mark against Iden's character that she didn't kill everyone on the evicerators bridge and stop the cinder sats from firing to save her home.
Evan Young
Why did they follow it, anyway? Just blind loyalty?
Hudson Thompson
>Hera hugged Sabine so Ezra sucks her twilek girlcock because it's the closest he can get to mando girlcock
Justin Watson
I hadn't heard it, but I can definitely believe it. Cinder was Palpatine flipping the table after his death to deny anything to anyone who might seek to inherit the Empire or even the galaxy. The Empire went along with it because they really had no other plans so just blindly obeyed even knowing the Emperor was dead. Yeah, I get that feeling too, Snoke is just using the First Order's resources for his personal squabbles. I mean, turning fracking STARKILLER on the Resistance just to stop them finding Luke is the definition of excessive force I just hope its a mutual thing, and he's not the top of the First Order tree
Christopher Young
yeah that apparently what Cinder was based on. a big fuck you to whoever was left around after.
Isaac Rogers
It was the defining turning point for both Iden and Del. After that point, they have very little further development. You'd be spoiling the emotional climax of the story just to avoid hurting idiots feelings.
Evan Green
Because a heel turn mimics a twisting motion but metaphorically see also:spin
Xavier Cox
What do you think the new trilogy is going to be like?
Logan Wood
When your grand leader gives you an order, you follow it. That's how military works.
Austin Hill
Admiral Versio explains pretty clearly what he thinks the benefits of attacking Cinder are.
And if Iden tried to attack everyone on the bridge, she would have been killed pretty fucking fast
Kayden Walker
Basically. I think some of the commanders also assumed there was a bigger plan in place, since they were only given specific instructions and few if anyone knew the entire plan.
So while Commander A is destroying a clearly rebel-allied world, he has no idea Commander B has orders to buttfuck an Imperial world or that there's no real endgame here beyond fucking everything over.
Jacob Perry
Why didn't the First Order blow up the Resistance Base before the Republic, wouldn't that be the more logical thing to do?
Isaac Ortiz
>and he's not the top of the First Order tree it fells like the FO at large are using him as a Palpatine stand in he clearly has more in motion with Luke and Kylo than anything militarily and honestly i can tottaly see Hux cutting that tie and leading the FO himself if he sees it become a detriment
Hudson Cook

>There's a specific Hitler order (Reichsbefehl? something like that) Nerobefehl, or Nero Decree. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nero_Decree And there's definite similarities. Hitler felt the Reich had failed him, so the Reich deserved to be destroyed, and I could see Palpatine thinking similarly That and Sheev was a Sith, and Sith do not inherit. I guess Cinder was dreamt up as a fuck you to Vader first and foremost
Nathaniel Baker
I'd like to bypass her compressor and spray my medichlorians all over the soft, pink walls of her cunt

Did they even know where the Resistance base was?
Also don't forget how tiny the Resistance is compared to the NR. I doubt they saw the Resistance much as an end goal when they had the ability to blow up the fucking Republic capital and its neighboring planets
Jayden Stewart
They didn't know where it was until they tracked the ships on Takodana to D'Qar.
Of course, their stated reason for destroying Hosnian Prime when they did was to stop the Republic from supporting the Resistance but apparently they barely if at all supported them so I don't know what the fuck anymore.
Grayson Green

>hurting an idiots feelings I don't care that they defected I just wanted a better story. Hurr durr I'm the head of ISB and I'm going to use a weather dominator on my own planet and waste countless resources and men instead of postponing/or stopping it all together whilst negotiating with Sheev's sentinel to find a loophole and coordinating with other high officials to minimize imperial deaths. Iden has beaten the odds before and it's the one thing her father and the player wouldn't be expecting
Henry Evans
I mean, technically there WAS a bigger plan in place, but I don't think Operation Cinder really fed into the Contingency all that much. Hell, I wonder if Cinder was something of a test to determine which officers could be flexible enough to survive the Unknown Regions and which were too dogmatic to be practical The Republic was the intended target of Starkiller from day one. The First Order managed to utterly cripple their biggest threat in a single decisive strike. Its like if the entire US army, air force and the majority of the fleet all gathered around the full Senate and White House before you dropped a nuke on the whole mess. Complete decapitation of command Going after the Resistance is mop up, and if Snoke had been thinking straight instead of shitting himself at the mere though of Luke coming back he would have just sent a small fleet to intercept them. Like he's doing at the start of TLJ from the looks of it That's why Force users should be kept the fuck away from high command, they don't think things through >the FO at large are using him as a Palpatine stand in I would just die if the entire reason Snoke is put on the pedestal is to serve as a distraction. Like the Republic/Resistance are supposed to spend all their resources taking out this one guy because that's how it worked last time, and instead the First Order just don't give a single fuck
Michael White
Apparently the original idea was for the Resistance to be more like the Flying Tigers, civilian and unattached from the government more by legality and paperwork than anything else, but that got changed by JJ at the last minute I swear I remember reading that Pablo was surprised to read that in the opening crawl
Bentley Nelson
>He's acting like a fucking idiotic holier-than-thou saint, while not even knowing what the fuck is going on with the game.
Except no? He just pointed out that he wasn't accepting the sponsership because he disagreed with it.
If a CEO of a company declines a merger with another company because he doesn't like that companies tactics, does that make him a holier than thou saint? No.
So drop the double standard because it's a youtuber.
And the unlock time IS relevant because the argument against the game is that you either have to devote your life to it to make enough credits to unlock them, or spend money.
Try keeping up with the news EAshill
Cameron Murphy
Didn't Hux push for it most of all and Snoke (Serkis would have been a way better name) was like whatevs don't fuk up bro.
Jace Ortiz
>Iden has beaten the odds before and it's the one thing her father and the player wouldn't be expecting Its one thing to beat the odds, another to draw a weapon on your own father on the bridge of an Imperial Star Destroyer and seriously expect to make it out alive That and Iden wasn't expecting the damage to be as extensive as it was, or for the Empire to be explicitly leaving civilians behind as the military evacuated
Isaiah Sullivan
>I swear I remember reading that Pablo was surprised to read that in the opening crawl I remember that too, and it's why the Visual Dictionary states the relationship between the Resistance and the New Republic differently from how it's stated in the movie.
Andrew Bennett

>That's why Force users should be kept the fuck away from high command, they don't think things through In Snoke's defense, the only reason Starkiller Base was destroyed was because Phasma turned the shields off. It wasn't his fault they lost SKB, it was hers.
Nathan Adams
Worth the 60 bucks for the campaign?
I was going to wait for a significant price drop to save money, and give myself time to read Inferno Squadron before hand, but if the plot of the game seems like it will have ties to Episode 8, im tempted to jump into it now so I can have it finished before the movie is out.
Bentley Cooper
...
Jackson Scott
no, not remotely the campaign is nice and all, but its 4 hours, theres no reality in which that's a good deal
if you want to consider it 60 bucks for Godawful class-based clusterfuck ground battles and semi-decent no-content space battles then sure, I suppose it could be worth it if you're willing to deal with the huge amount of pay2win grindy unbalanced bullshit, but I cannot in good conscience recommend this to anybody
Christian Edwards
I dunno, it feels like there's a lot of blame to go around. Phasma bears the biggest responsibility, but then again none of the console jockeys in the command center even noticed it was down. Stormtroopers patrolling the halls were also incompetent as fuck.
Jaxson Sullivan
...
Gavin Rodriguez
>going to purposely destroy a planet >going to evacuate the civilians too Iden really is an idiot. She's a top special forces commander, nobody would be expecting her to pull a gun on her father and even carried through with it and shot him and then demanded the crews loyalty to continue the war against the rebellion as a warlord. It would maintain her place as a villain and a strong character instead of letting her world die and attempting to take some civis on her ship as a last gesture to convince herself that she isn't a bad person.
