I don't think mainline Knuckles has really changed at all but holy shit this. Sonic since Colors or so has been fucking awful.

He was the Shadow of the 90s. He was like Sonic, except edgier. He was an asshole, had spiked fists making him more "violent", and always had an angry look on his face. Then the Adventure games came along and had the odd disconnect where his theme music was about how much he liked fucking people up, while his actual character was pretty mellow.

Zoro was ready to murder the fuck out of Luffy when they came to blows in hat bounty hunter town during the Alabasta (or however the fuck it's spelled) arc. Dude got way better with time, but let's not forget that he was also more than willing to cut off both of his legs for a chance to fuck up some more people before he died. Zoro's got some issues dude.
