>Thor 3 just made a billion dollars

What this simbol represent? Superman mustache?

Hope.

Rampant self-regard that isn't backed up by any actual achievements beyond failures so epic that they were previously considered impossible (pic related). Kryptonian glyphs get a lot across with just one symbol, don't they?

Seriously, though, if you'd told me ten years ago that WB would make a Justice League movie that would not only fail to top a billion dollars at the box office, but also fail to break even on its production and marketing budgets and got curb-stomped by Thor 3 of all things, I'd have asked you for a taste of whatever you were smoking.

I failed to account for Hack Snyder, though.

He looks like Satan without the horns and hot pepper red skin.

DCEU fatigue is very real.

Synder legitimately loves and respects the source material.

...

Prove that he's even read it.

>Superman being a brooding, emotionless stoic constantly
>Batman killing left and right
>Wonder Woman abandoning humanity for 100 years just because the man she loved died
>Aquabro
>The Flash being an ADHD sperg

I think it's safe to say that Synder is a comic book geek.

Want to bet?

The Infinity War hype is realer than I could have imagined.
The day the trailer dropped, my co-workers were all huddled watching it on a smart phone at the plant pre-shift meeting. Half of them I've never heard discuss cape movies. My work pals at the next table had already seen it, of course.
But damn, that hype. This is the only movie I can think of that had a ground-floor expectation of blowing through a billion in ticket sales that wasn't Star Wars related.

>it's super hero fatigue
>not brand awareness

>Superman being a brooding, emotionless stoic.
You could've just said stoic and Brooding epuld be an emotion.

^This

It's one thong to say that Synder did a bad job at directing movies but look at the movies he's directed.
>300
>Watchman
>Man of steel
>Batman vs superman
The idea that he isn't a comic book geek is a preposterous one.

>that moment when Black Panther outgrosses Justice League

But what does that video actually prove besides the fact that Synder is shitty an answering questions?

...

It'd be really hilarious if it was a dud though.
I don't expect it but still.
They're just jobs dude.

Even the dumbest nigger on Sup Forums, put in front of a comic book convention panel, and asked "what comic book inspired you to make this comic book movie about a comic book character" could answer FUCKING SOMETHING.

It shows he has zero awareness of comic books.

Brooding isn't an emotion, it is a verb.

>superman doesn't brood
Enough with this meme. Of course Clark broods over his role as the world's greatest superhero, he's human like that.
Superman broods about the people he couldn't save and he broods on how he does at times feel like an outsider and he even broods over the destruction of his home planet and a lot of writers, many who we view as influential writers for the characters, do this.

He's proved before he's fine at answering questions, he's just stumped for how to respond when they're pressing him on what comics he's read, or that influenced him. So he took the out that the guy also said movies to say "Well I liked Star Wars..." It's clear that he's familiar with certain iconic panels from a couple of comics, and can replicate those shots in a way that a devoted subset of nerds likes. But actual sitting down and reading them? It doesn't look like it.

You sure about that? You think in front of a crowd like that that you can verbalize your creative influences?

>It shows he has zero awareness of comic books.
No it doesn't.

>he's just stumped for how to respond when they're pressing him on what comics he's read, or that influenced him.
He probably isn't thinking "what comics influenced me" as he is a movie director and not a comic book writer. He obviously thinking in general terms like what pushed me into becoming a director.

Answer rankings:
High Tier "I was inspired by the classic Superman runs of (well-regarded writer #1, #2 and #3)"
Good Tier "I really enjoy the work of (current Superman comic team)"
Acceptable Tier "I've always liked Action Comics"
Low Tier "I grew up with Superman on televison"
Garbage Tier "I wanna be George Lucas!"

It doesn't positively show any awareness of comic books, when he had a golden opportunity to prove he had some, you have to admit that. The way he talks about his journey in that clip, he makes it sound like comic book movies were just something he stumbled into, that his influence was other movies he watched (He doesn't even mention superhero movies) and his own experimenting with making his own movies in an attempt to replicate that.

Yes, but he also doesn't brood literally all the time, 24/7 as well. There's also times when he enjoys himself and is more or less content, because he's emotionally healthy and brooding constantly isn't really an emotionally healthy thing to do.

>They're just jobs dude.
Yea because everyone was chomping at the bit to do 300 and Watchman.

Kek, and checked.

this nigga wasn't suddenly surrounded on the street by a mob of comic fans. He was invited to speak on a board at Comicon about his comic book movie.
Yes, I could probably name a DC comic book I enjoyed under those circumstances, as could you.

...

>you have to admit that.
I'll admit he looks absolutely bewildered and I think his behavior at being loss just means he's self-aware that it's a shitty answer. Synder seems like he wants to say more but he simply doesn't know how to say it which I've been told is just gow Synder is.

How did they fuck it all up so royally?
youtu.be/Sa2jYn3LmlE

>san diego Comic-con
>being about comics
I don't think so tim.

Apparently Synder was more of a Heavy Metal fan growing up.

No one at all making the important decisions gave a single fuck about the characters they were making movies about.

Simple as that.

If someone were giving me hundreds of millions to make a movie about Flash Gordon, I think I could fucking read some Flash Gordon strips/watch some Flash Gordon serials.

This is the faggot who turned Superman's Pal into a dead CIA agent.

To be fair, being a spy is not the weirdest thing Jimmy Olsen has ever been.

He's a male Fake Geek Girl. Reading "graphic novels" because they're for mature adults but having never picked up a single issue floppy in his life because they're for children and nerds is his version of wearing a slutty cosplay of a character you don't actually know anything about.

Holy fuck, how awkward.

>This is the faggot who turned Superman's Pal into a dead CIA agent.
I don't really understand the problem here. First off Jimmy Olsen is an artifact and I love him to bits but he's out of place in Today's Superman stories. I dare ypu tp find me a GOOD Jimmy olsen story in the past 30 years.

>He's a male Fake Geek Girl.
Gatekeeping at it's finest.

3 weeks (THREE WEEKS)
>Ragnarok was already passed $700 million at this point
>Movie still hasn't reached $600 million or passed The Avengers' $207 million domestic opening

You're a fake geek and you are one till you can prove you are not.

It really establishes the Hope of your Superman franchise when the sequel opens with Jimmy Olsen's brains being splattered all over the ground.

>don't like the DC movies
>went to see Thor Ragnarok with my friend last month
>was fucking bored through the whole movie
It was so predictable and I felt like it was the same movie as everything else. I usually like Marvel movies. What happened, Sup Forums?

Because Jimmy Olsen is so important?
QUICK! NAME ME YOUR FAVORITE JIMMY OLSEN STORY RIGHT NOW.

Ok what now?

It's doing gangbusters in China.

>Did worse than Thor there

He served his fucking purpose didn't he?
>turn on the Superman signal
>the extent of Jimmy Olsen's character.

The one where he becomes Elastic Lad?
Though any "Jimmy gets Powers" works for me.

The one where Superman almost adopts him but can't because he'll die

>what now?
Now we judge.

Chinese have no taste in movies, they just like spectacle. Flash bang and crap acting. Their entire movie industry is disgustingly full of terrible hamfisted product placements and the acting is painful. The few chinese films that are actually good though get slapped down by the Chinese party and get limited distribution.

I'm a comic book and TTRPG geek, you think I'm not accustomed to judgement?

>First off Jimmy Olsen is an artifact and I love him to bits but he's out of place in Today's Superman stories. I dare ypu tp find me a GOOD Jimmy olsen story in the past 30 years.

It's that kind of sentiment for why he hasn't. Jimmy humanizes Superman by giving him an unassuming buddy.

I think you go through your life with being judged.

This one.

>Legend of Korra
user...
>Jonah Hex
The fuck?

This movie right here grossed $850 million in China. It's basically Team China: World Police with Americans as the Durkas.
youtube.com/watch?v=fkqGiPB2D8M

More than Force Awakens in the USA.

Snyder is the biggest dindu this board has ever seen.

Damn Jimmy looks fine as fuck.

>Smirks at you in chinese
But yeah now I'm gonna have to watch that.

The DCEU was made as if this cover was the only exposure Snyder had to DC comics.
>Superman barely controlling his killing urge
>Batman eager to gun everyone down

Do you think he just googled Superman covers?

ah so thats what crossbones was up to between the two cap movies

Even when we're the villains we still look good.
USA! USA! USA!

>I dare ypu tp find me a GOOD Jimmy olsen story in the past 30 years.
Superman #39. That's within the 3 years.
It's one of my favorite New52 stories.
And now's the part where you say "that doesn't count!".

>Because Jimmy Olsen is so important?
Yes, he's Superman's pal. I wanted more Clark and more Daily Planet. But now Jimmy is dead and Steve Lombard and the others were replaced by Ethnic Woman and other nameless bores.

It isn't super hero fatigue, it is that people remember how shit BvS and MoS were.

I dunno if it's my favorite but this one's pretty good.

Those movies were good though.

It's true, they were Fine.

Wait, I just remembered. Steve is in the DCEU. He was that bald guy. They've done such a shit job with Superman's supporting cast that I'm forgetting about the few that were actually included.

Need a version of this cover with laughing evans and hawkeye renner (with bow) urging SNyder and Affleck to dig their graves

/r9k/ isn't as autistic as this

It's easy to forget that Steve is in the DCEU because Steve is the sports columnist but for some reason that's Clark's job in BvS

>but for some reason that's Clark's job in BvS
At times I feel like Snyder just watched a few episodes of Smallville and went
>I got this

>It's that kind of sentiment for why he hasn't. Jimmy humanizes Superman by giving him an unassuming buddy.
This guy gets it. Superman is in desperate need of people to hand out with when he's not on Justice League duty otherwise he becomes a creepy alien weirdo with a stalker crush on Lois. As most of his friends live in the future of space and writers keep killing his parents off, Jimmy fills that role nicely.

You mean the two or three Superman comics he read in preparation for MoS and the overrated garbage that is "The Dark Knight Returns", or the multiple comics he read just to find panels he could recreate with the excessive help of CGI? And if he loves and respects the source material, how did he manage to fuck up Superman’s character so goddamn hard in two separate movies?

Snyder's favorite Superman story is Injustice

Let that sink in

That explains damn near everything.

But it's not, people just don't want to watch actually shit movies user, cape movies this year are making 700M+ except JL because it was just shit

even if he doesn't need Jimmy, the fact that he shows up pretty much immediately after Jimmy's death just because Lois is suddenly threatened makes it seem like he still doesn't give a rat's ass about individual humans.

Damn, Snyder looks so uncomfortable there. It's like he realizes he's fucked up and doesn't deserve to wear that crest (mustache or otherwise).
Or maybe he's truly as autistic as everyone says.

Well that fucking explains everything then doesn't it

And it was Lois' presence that fixed his broken brain after the resurrection.

Wrong, the Chinese just have really really shit tastes in general. I'm a chink and I HATE the shit i'm forced to watch with the family

Mainlander or diaspora?

watch the whole 2 hour event or really any other public showing of him. He can answer questions fine, what happen was he had no answer to this one meaning:
1. he's a fucking hack and hates cape books
2. he's fucking hack and doesn't research the work well.

kek'd and checked

Is he on the spectrum?

He is, kinda, just not capes.

No, he's a teenager who likes Frank Frazetta art because it tingles his dick.

>loves and respects the source material
>completely missed the entire point of Watchmen
Ive said it before and ill say it again, Snyder thinks hes way more talented and intelligent than he actually is.
