This is the biggest book I own. Book a about 40 comics inspired by Tori Amos songs, includes people like Hickman and Stokoe.
Also, Tori is pretty closely related to Sup Forums cause Delerium is based on her and she's sung about Gaiman a couple time.
>Me and Neil will be hanging out with the Dream King
The dark haired one, of the band Butcher Babies writes comics (and a novel).Just sells them directly through her website though. And yes, that is how they preform live
Got this two years ago for FCBD. Local puck band i know (from when i mixed live bands) made a concept album about an astronaut having a space adventure. Then they got artists and writers to do the whole album, each song is by a different team (some are entirely written by the singer). Some just follow the song and tell a parallel story, others just use the lyrics. Pretty inventive and well done.
Matt Fraction's Solid State
Lights' has is putting out a concept album/videos to promote her comic Skin & Earth
Timothy Truman used to make songs for Scout
>And yes, that is how they preform live
Not anymore, haven't for a while. Unrelated to Sup Forums I saw them live a few years ago, they weren't bad.
>Matt Fraction's Solid State
what's that? I hate the guys writing but for something very different I may give him one last chance
yeah, I should have put used to. But really, what they wear now isn't really any less sexual.
>Gaiman doing Cooper
huh...any good?
he made a comic to go with an album by Jonathan Coulton
Fraction is kinda rad
Black Eyed Peas just released a comic app thing for Marvel that my friend worked on
Anyone read these? Are they any good?
That time the members of kiss were the endless
I haven't personally read it.
they're beautiful and award winning, Russell is one of my favorite artists, like a Mignola without the overshading
Are the comics any good?
never read any. The Butcher Babies comic is probably bad but her novel has really great reviews. So maybe her other stuff is good.
Y'all need to sea Gotlib's Hamster Jovial thread over there
I can't read French. Getting into Eurocomics is the first time I have regretted not taking French seriously in school
It's never too late !
I don't think I have time ATM. But that is something to thing about, if learning a new language also entails reading some of the best comics in the world, that is, at the very least, good motivation
>Fraction is kinda rad
yeah, cause being pussy whipped by KSD is rad
Seriously though: duolingo for grammar, clozemaster for vocabulary. Nowadays these things are designed for 5 years olds with ADHD, it is easy.
ok but Casanova is a cool book
Claudio Sanchez from Coheed and Cambria has an ongoing comic that is the visual side to the story told in their album "Good Apollo 1", as well as comics/novels that serve as artistic/literary pieces of the story they tell with their albums. Each of their albums (with the exception of their most recent album) is an entry in a story he calls "The Amory Wars", which is essentially a messiah story set in space.
He also wrote a 6 issue comic called Translucid that wasn't bad.

This album. Too bad it's pure shit.
IMO Kieron Gillen use of music and tempo in his comics is super interesting.
Phonogram is fucking great.
God, I tried to listen and find something good there. But damn, that's bad. And I'm someone who likes shitty goth-pop, the really bad stuff even.
I am reminded, some user linked me some black metal that was all about Marvel Cosmic stuff. The lyrics were about the celestials and entities of the universe. But I lost the convoluted band name. If anyone can help an user out I would appreciate it.
can you post examples? I find that King has some issues that are very music like, the pacing is very well done and it reads like music. But I haven't gotten that impression from Gillen in the little I've read of him, he seems a great writer though
Young Liars gave a soundtrack to listen to for each one
This was a terrible event, but an excellent use of a great song.
yeah that's cool. The reason I kept the big two out of the OP is cause I didn't want the thread shit up by a ton of Dark Knights Metal fags. I haven't read much of it but it seems the most ham fisted unthought way to put heavy metal into comics. The magazine has been doing it for decades and Snyder comes along and does the worst version of it
boop
I haven't read this yet, but I guess it fits the thread
