Trump is a 1%er, but not the elite. He didn't run the country, he just had a lot of money. He was successful precisely because he hadn't previously made any attempts at political power or influence over regular americans. The only times he interacted with the scum up top was when he needed favours from them in order to build, at which point he paid them, went to their parties to smile, shake hands and so on. A necessary part of getting building and land permits in america, and indeed most of the world.
For contrast, Hillary has aspired to hold power over others her entire life. She has done nothing but strive for more and more control, but when she finally got some she misused it to get people killed and further her own interests. She's paid for by the elite, she's helped by the media and her goal with attaining more power wasn't to help america but rather to help Clinton. The extreme views breeding in our colleges treats anyone with any reservations or disagreements as an "enemy" that should be attacked and shamed, and I hate that we've devolved to that. If you're an American citizen regardless of other factors there should be a bottom line of rights and liberties they should all be given without exception.
