They add a lot of little details to things.

like shadows or the ending credits are on tempo

Every Gumball thread at this point feels like it is bait.

Oh shit really?
I'm normally on Sup Forums I just really like this show

Shame that the fanbase sucks like in everything.

Just once I want to talk constructively about something without out having to sign up for some fag forum where it's all that they talk about.

It's a good series that is punctuated with imaginative and inventive moments. Over-abundance of pornfags was a mistake, though.

The Only great show on CN besides Magaswords. It has great visuals and has great characters and fun episodes.

And also great away with alot a shit too. Like THIS. Wish it wasn't ending.

i dislike the character designs. the core cast is alright, but the minor characters are ugly. and then they have no budget for backgrounds, so it's all CG bullshit. I tried watching it back in the day, but the visuals and my expectations kept me from coming back. I think it's got some good ideas, but it isn't for me.

Brilliant writing paired with unique visuals and a real exploration of what can be done with an animated slice of life kids show. A+ in my book.

Any one have some facts about the show or rather interesting things

Like I keep seeing the comedy style where something is done in the beginning it you probably forget about it but it comes back later on

Like the Hat in the Sorcerer episode
Or Nicole and tasting like chicken in the episode when the dad went on strike for not being appreciated. You know the one

i hate the fat rabbit

A 7 year old looks like a genius to an infant

Did you make that?

The backgrounds aren't really CG iirc, they're pictures of real life places that are put through a filter to look more at home next to cartoon characters.

also yes fuck Richard he is awful. Show would be better with Nicole as a struggling single mother

You know, YURP and being free from that US crapis a reason why it became awesome.

>le epic meta references
No.

There's a reason why fandom of this series is in most part, clear crap.

And why's that?

I dropped it around season 4 when they made the Internet yell "MOOOM I GOT FRIEND ZONED AGAIN"

First time viewing this, still in season 1.
I really gotta say, it's really an enjoyable show so far.

>thinks season one is good
His mind is either gonna be blown when he hits season two or he's gonna drop the show

Any one knows the process for a show like this?
Do they just spitball ideas and expand or something else

>he didn't get it

...

Six seasons is actually a really great run, though.

Something something meta humor. It's an alright show but it has no real element of surprise anymore because you know what to expect every time. I still really like that Nobody's a Nobody song though.

A great show, I remember that I did a report of the best 10 current show for my "History of Animation" class, being Gumball the 6th post in the essay I give you mi opinion:

"I remember those times when I was little, I did not have so many worries and when I finished my homework, I used to go to the television to watch one of my favorite channels: Cartoon Network. Indeed, several of his series that came out between the years 1990-2005 came to be recognized as classics that marked a generation of little ones. The thing is that seeing now what has become Cartoon and its series shows, the quality has dropped somewhat, but not so much to say it is a disaster. The detail is that Cartoon Network has a smaller repertoire to what other years have had, battling with several stations for having the leadership at present. And although there are some series that are well done as Steven Universe or We Bare Bears, none has come to give me as much happiness as the Gumball series...

"...Being one more series of the bunch, Gumball tries to go to an unconventional world, where creatures of various shapes, sizes and races (even dimensions!) Coexist in a city where each episode is an endless number of occurrences for the inhabitants of Elmore. . Centered on the Waterson family: Richard, Nicole, Anais, Gumball and their fish Darwin; everything seemed like a copy of the typical sitcoms and quick comedies to create ... but this is not the case with Gumball, who takes this concept and throws it out the window. Each theme is squeezed to the limit, reaching sincere laughter from the audience. Since, the writers of this program know very well the use of comedy and the importance of the times and narration, as well as having stories that interest us from the beginning to its resolution. I really never had a good laugh until I saw this show with its peculiar world and its very common stories that make them bizarrely entertaining! I recommend seeing Gumball as a daily dose of a good laugh session to have a good day."

The baby turtles are cute

...

ah
i see it hit a soft spot for maaaassive daaaamidge with you

Most inventive animation in the past decade

...

Thank you very much for your words user, I both respect and agree with your opinion truthfully even if your comment was meant to be an ironic display of humor insulting the show and its viewers in some way, shape or form.
You can never really know.

Seeing other anons like this show for the same reasons I do validates my existence.

You are overrating the show way too much especially with "everything seemed like a copy of the typical sitcoms and quick comedies to create ... but this is not the case with Gumball".

Maybe I was, hahaha. I like to be poetic or dramatic in essays where I can have free range. It's a great show, but not perfect. That's why I put it on the 6th position.

ths is what i don't like about the new seasons
They just take memes and called it a day
Also , at first you like the wattersons in general
After S3 you want to kill everyone of them , even Darwin.

I'm onto S5 here
I only want to kill Anais and Richard.
Darwin is ok.
Gumball is great
Nicole is the best character.

Thank you so muc...(reads the second sentence)... um, what? I never intended to insult anyone haha. Sorry if you interpreted that way

>i am a furry
ok mate , just say that

>rotoscoping
>inventive animation

I don't mean "I want to fuck Nicole" I mean she's the funniest character. If it's an episode that features her heavily, it's great. Always. (with the exception of The List though that one was lame)

Her jokes almost always land for me.

Clearly a shill. I mean, why would anyone on Sup Forums ever enjoy anything?

>rotoscoping
>not inventive animation
It's better than every other show on CN that's just shot reaction shot.

The List was great

Nahh, I was joking with that last sentence to add ambiguity to to reform my "you never really know"

I truly enjoyed your description.

What were the other 9 shows?

This show is one of the few forms of entertainment I still enjoy.

Inventive does not mean "doing something different." Rotoscoping has existed for over a century.

is it that a motherfucking HowtoBasic reference?!

Just shotgunned all five seasons in about a week after never watching the show before. My miscellaneous thoughts:
>The show never (or rarely) tackles a subject they don't understand very well. Their episodes on JRPGs, Star Wars, YouTube, Facebook, etc. all show either lots of knowledge, or lots of research, on their topics. That said, I'm pretty sure the writers don't know that bath salts are an illegal drug on the level of cocaine, or I doubt they'd have mentioned them
>They recognize pretty early on that S1 Richard is a terrible character and do a good job of making him more appealing by season 2
>Somehow get away with constant fourth wall jokes which are usually a death sentence for cartoons. Only rarely do they feel unwarranted.
>Art style is gorgeous. I prefered the season one designs of the main family, but other than that, I have no complaints about the mixed media approach to the show
>Rarely do kids' shows keep you guessing about how the episode will play out. Only a small number of episodes use cliche "kid show plots" without any twists or turns to the formula
>Sucks that they keep replacing Gumball and Darwin's VAs instead of letting the characters age, but that's episodic television for you, I guess. That said, I do like the amount of callbacks and minor instances of continuity that they include. Makes you feel like the writers actually give a shit about the world they're building
>I like how dark and violent the show gets at times. Reminds me of old school Warner Bros. cartoons in how violent it gets, to the point where Gumball actively murders his fellow classmates, knowing they'll be fine in the next episode.
>Unfortunately, I think a lot of the supporting cast is terrible. All the school adults are incredibly grating, stereotypical kid show adults, about half the school kids could be described as "one dimensional bully," and The Robinsons are just The Bigheads with less memorable voice acting
Overall, I really love it. Can't wait for season 6.

>Gumball actively murders his fellow classmates, knowing they'll be fine in the next episode.
What episode was that?

there's multiple episodes where he murders alan, and also that episode where he and darwin kept murdering anton since he respawned from a toaster every time

>Their episodes on JRPGs, Star Wars, YouTube, Facebook, etc. all show either lots of knowledge
Every person has knowledge of all these. The SW episode was terrible

>They recognize pretty early on that S1 Richard is a terrible character and do a good job of making him more appealing by season 2
>making him more appealing by season 2
You are 100% wrong here

Happens pretty frequently. He pops Alan, the ice cream girl gets her head knocked off, the paper girl gets cut in half, etc. Hell, the episode where the mayor tries to kick them out of town ends with them blowing up several houses with gasoline and fire and Gumball spiking the drinking water with bath salts.

>You are 100% wrong here
Nah. They soften him in the right ways. In S1, he's fat, lazy, and invariably selfish. After S2, he's fat, lazy, and tries to be helpful when he can. It's a subtle change, but it's one I noticed while watching all the episodes.

art style is the one redeemable thing. its “le pop reference” and “OMG U WENT THER 4TH WALL Xd” is insufferable with about every other modern cn show that I gave an episode’s chance. I gave gumball a number of chances and would enjoy it if it would just back off from it’s own self righteousness

I can understand

What is your go-to show for humor?
or just in general

In S1 he was just a harmless idiot. After S2 he is the bane of the family. It's a big change

Richard is not as good a character as the others. He's a one note fat doofus. If they made better fat jokes and had him idiot savant more often I could get behind him. All the other characters are interesting and have strengths and flaws. Richards only strength is food capacity.

Okay, so I haven’t watched cartoons in years aside from watching an old show if I feel like it. I stopped cn and nick around the my gym partner era. Camp Lazlo was the last cn show that I watched via tv. I’ve recently decided to watch Ren and Stimpy and it is not the best show in the fucking world, but has enjoyability.

Eh, they have episodes that at least show he cares a lot about his kids and is very crafty when it comes to parenting. That's good enough for me.

Also, what the fuck happened with Penny? They have her big "coming out of her shell" episode, and she's barely been in the show since. Do they just not have anything else to do with her now that she and Gumball are dating? The Shell was a mistake.

also I’ve never watched ren and stimpy until now, I just felt distanced from its humor when I was younger, next to the fact that I knew my parents would scalp me

>Defending Richard
Don't , just no

they're distancing her from Gumball in order to set up his true love interest for the final season.

>and is very crafty when it comes to parenting
He isn't

Now I can understand you dislike for the show better

Its hard to find something enjoyable after you grow out of it.

Maybe stick with the older forms like Looney toons or animaniacs.
There's always art to appreciate if your distance yourself from the hoi polloi/

They had a whole episode about how he is.

An episode that contradicts the previous 190 episodes of the show

Sorry, man, I like Richard post S1. The writing always made it seem like he cares about his family, despite being heavily hedonistic. Not sure what else to tell you.

youtube.com/watch?v=8mvEow5yzzc

I think its one the best shows CN has ever put out and Its probably my favorite cartoon of all time

I agree, this show actually beat Golden age spongebob for me

I don't understand how that clip is supposed to show Richard is a bad character. If anything, that shows how fucking patient he is with his kids being assholes. A bad "fat asshole dad" character would have lost his shit, or come up with some big counter-plan that was way disproportionate. I can appreciate a cartoon dad that isn't a total asshole like most of them are.

That clip is supposed to show S1 Richard is funny

>You need to accept and eat concrete cupcakes because your autistic dad made it for you
Wew Sup Forums just wew , i bet your favortie episode was the List too.

Oh, didn't know it was from that era. Honestly, I might like S1 Richard if I went back and watched it again. I remember disliking him, but it may have been my bias against fat cartoon dads. I just remember the S2 episode where he gets a job and almost destroys reality made me like his optimistic personality.

What are you even talking about? And why are people ragging on The List? Wasn't my favorite episode, but I thought it was a fun idea seeing Gumball and Darwin achieve everything Nicole ever wanted to do without even really trying. Goes to show how strong ignorance is in a world running on cartoon logic.

The Hero was fucking shit but there is nothing wrong with The List.

>What are you even talking about?
He is talking about The Hero, the most hated Gumball episode

Isn't that the one where Richard almost dies trying to save Gumball and Darwin after they shit all over him to their friends and say they don't need him?

>The list
nah fuck me , i was talking about the fridge

No, it was the one where Nicole was an abusive bitch to Gumball for no reason and where Gumball almost dies because of Richard incompetence. Gumball did nothing wrong.

I actually loved that episode, honestly, but mostly because it was the first one on my binge watch that I felt made extremely good use of the mixed media approach. The shots in the training montage and the paintball game are pretty beautiful. Nicole is a bitch in that episode, but I can excuse it considering the show is operating on hyper cartoon logic.

Yeah, the art of that episode was god-like. I miss that quality

What's the best song, and why is it this one?
youtube.com/watch?v=7xb5n8f8UaA

The List was okay, not great though. The funniest part was definitely the infomercial bit

Actually, this one.

youtube.com/watch?v=6Luunw7miHw

youtube.com/watch?v=vlDUWv7XMB0

Gumball music isn't that good. I can't think in any memorable song

>they got away with an episode about Gumball wanting Tobias to pat his butt, while all the other characters treat it as sexual harassment
What a weird show.

Sure thing!
I'll gladdy tell you, just be aware that these are choices that I made based on enjoyment, concept, artstyle and mostly: my personal taste around these years :)

10. 31 Minutos (A chilean show of a news involving puppet and toys, hilarity and edutainment at best)
9. ATHF (Great surreal comedy and in a tie with The Eric andre Show)
8. The Avengers: EMH ( The DCAU show of Marvel, really well done, specialy it's first season)
7. Star vs FoE (Very promising concept, good clash between Sailor Moon and DBZ concepts with a bit of racism-themes on the mix)
6. Gumball (What I said)
5. Castevania ( A revolutionary take of a VG made into a serie that anyone can enjoy with great animation)
4. One Punch Man (A funny take on the superhero formula with beatiful animation and soundtrack and iconic characters)
3. Jojo's Bizarre Adventure (A family legacy and vary perils around history makes this show really great, love the first memeber: Jhonatan)
2. Bojack Horseman (An interesting take on depression and nihilism without bein in your face, it has good philosophies and a great take on life itself but I understand it can't be great taste to other people)
1. MLP: FiM (I sincerely love this innocent show and the good morals in the first seasons as well as the new direction its taking on the newer seasons, I never was part of the fandom but when I met it I still was with the show even if I disagreed with som of its people, buut that's just my opinion. Hope to hear yours)

Honorable Mentions:
Steven Universe, We Bare Bears, South Park, Rick and Morty, Kemono Friends and lastly OK KO

>Castevania
>OPM anime
>MLP
>Kemono Friends
The man with no taste.jpg

I think you have decent taste, but man you have some controversial picks on that list. Probably don't mention your number one pick around here.

I also made a playlist to my teacher so that he can have a lil taste of each show. So here it is:

>I also made a playlist to my teacher so that he can have a lil taste of each show. So here it is:
You're adorable, user. But I'm guessing you're probably too young to be posting here.

That's pretty damn creative user,To add the music
Keep that mindset

Yeah I know... being Sup Forums and Sup Forums I expect some interesting opinions, I know that being anime in the ranking doesn't help me at all (Specially MLP being a shit-taste here in these places) but nonetheless I enjoy whatever I see, and those ten are what I liked the most. Hope to see more series :)

There's no age restrictions on this pain train

Fuck off, newfag
Also Jonathan is worst JoJo

Thank you :)
I want to be a great animator so I try to put my heart and soul in everything I make. And here in Sup Forums even if there are shitposts and trolls, I love the comunity since there are interesting topics that helps me understand some perspective from the viewer side. Have a good day :)
