The gay marriage decision was pretty exciting, you know, for a couple that is planning on making it official soon.


Best part? Both of us are relatively Sup Forums, supported Trump over the bitch Clinton and all.

Worst part? I don't know what my future as a gay american looks like. Already I'm seeing shit all over the country about how the fully republican government (SCOTUS, POTUS, and all of Congress) is going to revoke the decision to let gays marry.

That's not the end of the world, but where does it stop?

I was/am against gay marriage - we had civil partnerships, which gave all the same rights, and it just seemed to be another liberal way of chipping away at the normal traditional nuclear family. A bit like new pronouns and fuck knows what else. But I can't see it being rolled back anytime soon in any western country that has it, now it's here we might as well see how it pans out. Supreme Court decisions can't be changed at all, they can only vote differently on new cases brought to the court. So they can't just reverse gay marriage, and I doubt a new case would be brought up.
