so did aku

And saved trillions more.

If they never existed, did they die?

All of those people who rose up and joined Jack's fight against Aku knew what would happen if Jack won. They fought anyway because whatever happens when the timeline is changed would be better than an eternity under Aku's reign.

Not "killed" in the traditional sense of the word. He "nullified" trillions.

It would be extremely existential.

Pretty sure they expected Jack to defeat Aku in their timeline and they'd all still get to exist, just not under a fairly benign dictator.

you're a F O O L I S H guy

technically wouldn't there be more people in the future due to population growth? So he killed more than he saved

FUCK YOU GENDY

For AKU!

Why did Genndy make the tree look so phallic?

What about the people of the future where Aku wasn't rulling? Jack just ensured their birth.

This might just have been the worst ending to any animated series ever.

A small part of me died the night it aired. Before, during, and after. But mostly after.

to save quadrillions

At least a couple. Hopefully nobody important.

I dont understand this, sure they dont exist in his time but they will. Aku just “unified” other planets and systems. They will still be born, most likely just on their own planet

They might as well have died, since Jack didn’t really care about them at all. He didn’t even say goodbye

user, if a couple met in a war shelter and gave birth to children would their children still exist if the war never happened?

You were supposed to say "To save quadrillions" you stupid cow, goddammit

In Jacks reality gods belonging to religions that believe in reincarnation and similar concepts are running shit. They still exist but in an alternate form.

Not just the Men

But the women and the children too

>point of the show is to avert this bad future

>autists cry when it happens

You guys are retards

I thought the point of the show was seeing Jack kill cool robots and meet interesting and colorful characters

He still killed trillions, that wasnt acceptable.
It was a shit ending you retarded fuck. He was supposed to make the future better, not destroy it. Now that cool alien filled future doesnt exsist, so does all the cool characters, and jacks alone and sad. Fuck this ending and fuck the hack genddy.

Then he should have left those monks to die.

If Jack didn't give a shit about anyone and was going to wipe them out of existence as soon as he could find a time portal, why did he even bother helping them in the first place?

youtube.com/watch?v=e51hgWIsY4M

Go diddle some more kids, Kevin.

I bet that none of his friends would have helped him if they knew he wanted to delet them all

Kamina die in vain.

No he was supposed to and i fucking quote you brain dead mong "undo the future that is AKU"

And rember said future was a shit hole

Did you forget the generations of genocide slavery and evil aku wrought.

>you can't change the future, but you can make a better past
or
>lmao BALET EVERYTHING
Characters move on from their retarded goals as the story progress

Did you not listen to the fucking opening song you dense nigger?
>Gotta get back, back to the past
He was always going to go back and undo the evil that is AKU.

>change the past
>better future
fug

The Scotsman was so proud of his family, it seems kind of implausible he's ok with none of them existing anymore.

>durr is in the song
Your excuse makes no sense.

Funny people say it ripped off the ending of Gurren Lagann, when it also stole from Madoka Magica Rebellion's.

You fucking idiots, he shouldve learned that the future was worth saving and become king jack in it. Character progression, jesus fuck its a basic thing genndy cant do right, and all you loyalist fags will defend to death

>all those times Jack gave up his chance at a portal for the wellbeing of some future person
>annihilates their whole universe anyway
so stupid
making Jack settle in the future doesn't even have to be the only way, either
the time travel system used is completely arbitrary, it could just as easily be multiple reality where Jack uses the mcguffin (Ashi or otherwise) to prevent Aku from escaping, then kill him in the future and in the past
but no, I'm sure it was all worth it just to show everyone how mature and deep Genndy is, being able to kill off his embarrassing waifu insert for the ebin bitter"sweet" ending

>muh 6 trillion
the chutzpah of this goy...

What about all the people who died and suffered because of Aku while Jack was stuck in the time portal?

ha look how this insecure dicklet in the middle is covering his genitals

Get over them, they wouldve been long dead already

>delete countless billions to trillions to save millions
Not worth it

Then that would be abandoning his home and everyone he knew and cared for in the past to a long horrible regime of Aku ruling, when he could go back and prevent it from ever happening.

They were already dead for thousands of years, bringing them back at the cost of far more lives is not fair

The season was 100 percent worth it for the Ashi porn. Especially a fucking amazing giantess vore fic.

Ya just gotta splice the comic ending in there instead of most of season 5 and BOOM!

How does this math make any sense, during the thousands of years Aku ruled, it would have been countless trillions who suffered and died, plus the maybe couple billion who were alive during the future Jack was stuck in.
These untold amounts of people were now saved from horrible lives under Aku when Jack went back, meaning he saved faaaar more than the amount of people he fought along side with in the hellish future.

yes, remember the 6 trillion, goys
er...i mean guys

>wow Isis took over Mosul we should NUKE THE SHIT UP

Jack's goal from the start was to go back to the past and undo Aku's evil, but from a narrative standpoint we've been building up to Jack making the ultimate decision to fix the future rather than simply go back in time and erase it. Think about it: every time in the series that Jack has had the opportunity to go back at the cost of endangering others' lives, he's chosen to prolong his quest. This ending has literally made the entire series, as well as Jack's arc, utterly pointless.

One of the crappiest, half-ass, knock-off endings in history, and you need is some crack and down syndrome to understand how this got to be so shitty.

Mass Effect 3 had a better ending than this

hell even the point of this last season was to show him how the future is not a doomed timeline and that because of him people have hope.

How could he? Not only was everyone he personally knew already dead, Ashi literally threw him into the portal the very second she realized she could make one.

I kinda hoped he'd have one last whispered "gotta get back".

it's been exactly 4 years since the original banepost was made

Look time travel is bullshit honestly. If she disappeared fine. but then jack shouldn't be able to remember what happened.

No. They didn't exist. For all intents and purposes, anyone you or Jack remember existing were hypotheticals. From a time that never happened, where a being that died was somehow still alive.

Tl:dr; you can't kill what wasn't born.

Get over the future that never happened. They weren't even born to suffer.

Watch your fucking mouth. Mass Effect 3 was an abortion that had 0 foreshadowing. This was a disappointment that has been telegraphed every time the opening played.

>Mass Effect 3

It never stops hurting

an epilogue, a final good bye, some glimpse into the future, some time warping bullshit that allows everyone to acknowledge all the work that Jack did in the dystopian future that is Aku. That's all I want. Not some fucking half-hearted smile by the cherry blossom.

6 you mean

>In Twin Peaks: The Return the protagonist Dale Cooper goes back in time to undo the murder of Laura Palmer
>It's portrayed as a horrific mistake as violence can never be undone and plays into the theme of revival being that you can never truly go back to the way things were

>In Samurai Jack Season 5 the protagonist Jack goes back in time to undo Aku's rule
>It's portrayed as a bit sad for 2 minutes because his waifu is gone but then he sees a butterfly and it's all good

That's the difference between a true auteur like Lynch and a hack who makes shitty Adam Sandler cartoons.

This. It's harsh, but it's ultimately the truth.

To save thousands.

>Futurefags: "Odysseus should have just kept sailing aimlessly! What a stupid asspull that he gets back home at the end. If this story was properly written, he would have learned that getting home isn't actually important!"

Would you consider it a happy ending if a God destroyed the entire universe in an instant to start a new universe where Jews never existed?

but then I wouldn't be able to get a qt3.14 jew gf

No, the population will be significantly higher without Aku once the timeline catches up to the future.

It was just banter.

MegasXLR's was worse.

Where is that quote from? I think I heard it in one of Snyder's movies, or Doomsday Clock, not sure though.

You're retarded. He "destroyed the future"? Fucking how? What's stopping time from progressing forward?

he dosn't, that's why he gets happy at the end.

>Man spends 4 seasons on a quest to do one thing.
>Nearly every episode is focused around him trying to do this.
>Everyone loves it.

>Man spends the 5th season accomplishing this goal
>People are shocked and appalled

You know, I DO wish this season had never happened, because then I would have never had to deal with people spouting this retarded shit. I genuinely had more faith in humanity's collective intelligence before I saw how flabbergasted people were by something they were already told was going to happen.

Why? Not like we can't already have memories of things that never happened.

"A god". A near evil god like being was the reason the universe was reset in the first place.

Second fallacy, you imply said god did it solely to erase the jews, instead of to stop the previously mentioned evil from destroying not only your home and family, but entire worlds and probably driving a good number of alien species extinct for shits.

Third fallacy, fuck you, did I say it was a happy ending? No. It was a better ending. Not that I said that either, but a better ending isn't always happy. See the trillions vs quadrillions/quadrillions/octillions/fucking whatever x-tillions that will now NOT die because Aku wasn't around. This was not a planet wide thing, he controlled enough space to bring a fuck ton of other species to Earth.

Fourth fallacy, watch the opening.

Congratulations, you brought god into this and made yourself look stupid in four ways.

it's actually from mlp

>final episode is an empty hollow mess that has about as much closure as shitting in a bag

Get it straight ya shitposter, the issues are not that he got back to the past but how completely empty and void it was. We don't see the better future, we have no context on how things will be then. All we are given is Jack's Mary sue pulling nia teppelin and fading from existence on the wedding day. That is our only view of a world post Aku, is that she can't exist.

It's a god damn failure in story telling.

We don't necessarily know that Aku was defeated and that the future was changed. Ashi said that she felt Aku's presence leaving her which could just easily be the past Aku absorbing his own essence from her in a last ditch effort to survive. Maybe he just fucks off for about a hundred years or so and then comes back to do his business, and everyone in the future is bumfucked even worse because they all started confronting Aku.

I mean, technically there would have been less suffering throughout history. Assuming no other demographic just became the new Jews.

Madoka was just tropefest garbage

CAN'T KILL THINGS THAT DON'T EXIST SON. Might as well be a delusion to Jack since he didn't even age. He has NO proof of what happened, just a mad king with delusions of another world and evil spirits.

That's stupid. The past is infinitely better than the future.

It's like if you could have the world BEFORE the nuclear apocalypse in Mad Max happens. If you could stop the apocalypse, wouldn't a non-nuked world be better in every sense of the word?

I mean, if I was existing in the post-nuclear apocalypse, I would REALLY prefer the world not to be nuked.

Nope, he spared lots and lots of life beings in the universe of existing in a disgusting life in a dystopian future ruled by an ancient evil overlord. Now, they can exist in a tolerable future.

Seriously, why is so fucking difficult understand this?

This.

Are you just ignoring what is posted? Are you that lonely and needing (You)s? user posted that the people's issues are not related to him getting back to the past. It's the fact we never see the positive changes for it, we don't see what all those characters from 4+ seasons got to be in a world without Aku, no dog men gathering old history, no Guardian smiling big as he watches Jack in the past coming home a hero, no domesticated Scotsman yelling and being chased by his wife as all his baby girls point and laugh at the scene. There is no closure over everything we watched. Just a hacks attempted at being deep.

I think you need to google the definition of fallacy user. You made yourself look stupid the same way 5 times

What positive changes? Obviously those people were never born, because EVERYTHING HAS CHANGED. Shit's not rocket science.

Their lives would never improve, because the whole point was to make sure it never happened!

>The world would be better if Genghis Kahn didnt rape and massacre hundreds of thousands of people
>If he didn't do that there is a high likelihood you specifically wouldnt have been born
I would REALLY prefer not to have been born if those people a couple thousand years ago didnt have to die

Why do you think rewriting history kills trillions?
I mean sure THAT future was erased, but a much better future replaced it. It's not like there is no future at all anymore, just no longer a future where literally every evil being comes to Earth to be evil under Aku's reign.

we don't know that with the narrative given, great examples are all the aliens Aku enslaved when Jack showed up, there futures would have remain unaltered to the point of the start of the show.

>The population of a planet ruled by a despotic overlord would be greater than a free planet

Please stop being stupid.

Except Jack wasn't staying in the future aimlessly. He would have fixed it. Around Odesseys were monsters, but Jack had friends and civilIans to help rebuild.

>I'd rather not be born than live under a dictator
