I liked it as a director's vision of "a movie in vacuum", but hated it as a Star Wars movie. The franchise is no more, I blamed TFA on Abrams, but now it is evident that Nu-Lucasfilm just doesn't "the rules" that Lucas's universe was built upon and outright removes any and all in-universe logic (and if you tried to point it out, you become a "nitpicking nerd"). I liked the visuals and the overall flow, but it is obvious that Rian wanted to make a whole different movie, with lots of animals and dialogues, and that's great, except his duty was to the saga, to its characters. And as for that, I think the movie completely failed. Luke is retroactively ruined and has to be "redeemed", Snoke is killed before we could know anything about him, Finn is denied his heroic sacrifice.
It has a lot of good scenes, but so much bullshit that it becomes just hard to stomach as anything but a completely alternate universe, where only the Rebels have shields (nearly infinite shields) on their ships, while the Imperials have no shields, no reinforcements from the other side of the sector, and, finally, forget that they blockaded the ice planet and just let the Falcon escape off screen.
