Give me a strong economy and frugal, intelligent government budgeting. The liberals can't give me that, and national identity sure as hell won't either. I want a dollar that won't get me fucked when I order things online and enough financial security to know I'll be able to raise kids into a job market and still afford my mortgage even if the states does something stupid.

In Quebec provincial politics we have major parties calling for reduced immigration. I'd prefer if the federal government pushes things further than the provincial government does, but until that I won't vote in a federal election

Honestly can't support that as we need some level of protectionism to prevent foreign companies from just setting up shop here and sending all their profits south.
I would really just rather see our Crown Corporation system be fixed so it isn't a big retirement slush fund for politicians and instead slowly wean them off government funding and instead start pulling a profit and sending it to the government for spending. Stuff like a profitable government owned energy sector covering the costs for infrastructure maintenance.

The problem with profitable crowncorps is finding the talent to keep them profitable. Nobody actually capable of running a business effectively would willingly work for a government-owned one unless they were paid an exorbitant fee, at which point they have no incentive to actually make the project profitable since they already get their cut.
