I've only read little bits of Cloak and Dagger from the late 80s early 90s Strange Tales floppies I have from when I was kid. Very weird, dark, serious stuff that was kind of scary. Even when the guest starred in Spider-Man they were creepy.
I know next to nothing about Cloak and Dagger, and I'm not really interested in the show from what I've seen. How big of a deal are they in Marvel? I slightly recall Cloak in Infinity Gauntlet and in Civil War
Not a big deal... sort of a horror type comic. Mostly, Spider-Man guest stars.
Cloak and Dagger are street level heroes. One is a woman who creates light, the other is a man who has a void of darkness within that constantly hungers. Together, they fight criminals, drug dealers, and various other evildoers.
Because it came from the site that, apparently, dubbed it for Russia. Maybe?

No idea. It's supposed to air Thursdays on Spring 2018, though that might be as early as February.

These dumbasses actually did the "staple the condoms to the board" joke you can see the staple in the top of the left set. I wish they didn't employ the "don't shoot" meme in the marketing, because i honestly believe in some of the people writing it, i have a friend of a friend who is (was?) working on this who said they are gunna show how the community is just as oppressive as "folks with money" as he said. Visuals better be banging though, they should be at least the same quality as the gifted but just a lot more sparse.
Thing is, Cloak and Dagger did the BLACKED! meme decades before Sup Forums got their hands on it, and Cloaks relationship with Dagger was always highly metaphorical and pseudo-sexual, even in cases when it explicitly wasn't. IIRC, Cloak basically needs Tandy to live, and is obsessed with her, while Tandy 'just wants to be friends'

Tyrone's gonna be the rich kid this time, while Tandy is the poor one. I think it's an interesting angle.

Street level, D-list to be tbqh. They were on Miles Morales's not-Avenger team a while back and they had a run in with the Runaways, but I don't think they're that big, popularity wise
