Serious question;
Why didn't Trump just run for President in the 80s? Why the fuck did he wait so long? he's been talking about doing it as far back as 1980.
Serious question;
Why didn't Trump just run for President in the 80s? Why the fuck did he wait so long? he's been talking about doing it as far back as 1980.
timing is everything
What does this mean though?
What was he waiting for? In his view everything was already going to Hell even back then.
He didn't want to do it, he said he'd make a good president and was confident in his abilities but he always said he wished a real politician would step up and try to fix America without him needing to get involved.
Obviously he just got sick of waiting, he never wanted to be president, but if America is going to change he realized he is the only one willing to do it. His presidency is a sacrifice for him, I believe, it's a burden but he knows he needs to do it.
If you actually listened to what he said back then you'd know why.
He didn't want to become president. He didn't believe he was the right person for the job.
He said that he'd only run if America got bad enough
He would've been a better candidate in the 80s. He was a lot more level-headed, intelligent-sounding, and charismatic back then. Then again he did win now so what do I know?
Because he's a giant orange douche.
What do you think finally pushed him over the edge?
youtube.com
He's a human being user, whether you like him or not he always cared about America.
because if you were a a young billionaire with a hot wife, would you take the most stressful job in the world?
I think the fact he waited until he personally felt things were so bad tells you that he wants to change things rather than revel in power.
People have to live in darkness before they want to reach to the light.
9/11 pissed him off, then we had two terms of king nigger
See this is how I feel.
He was so much more articulate and humble back then, and based on what he said at the time, America was already reaching a crisis point in the 80s, so why wait 30 years if they were so bad?
Did he just feel he needed more time to prepare so he would actually win?
Republican and Democrat parties both had some credibility back then. The President was the nice guy who made you feel safe and comfy when he spoke on TV. Dubya Bush will probably be remembered as sort of the last example of that kind of Prez. Politician is one hundred percent synonomous with "slime" now and that's basically how Trump got elected. No one gives a fuck about the dignity of office or whatever since it's been used as a tool to shaft the American people time and again.
He was waiting for rationality and skepticism to die down to levels he could work with.
Say what you want about Obongo but this was God tier banter.
By that time a divorce like that with Ivana would ruin his political career.
He had to wait for Twitter and Sup Forums.
good point.
if the media pulled the same shit they did this time in the 80s, no one would have been able to find out shit
james o keefe, stefan molyneux, milo etc all people that wouldn't have had 2 seconds of air time in the 80s.
This is a better answer.
He explicitly says in one of the 80s interviews that a person who actually wanted to fix things in America would need to say a bunch of ridiculous bullshit to get elected (which is essentially what he's done) but he also said he was butthurt about that fact, seeing as these people are usually idiots with no idea what they're doing.
too much pussy to grab
priorities first
(t. Trump voter)
The 80's was Reagan's Era. It was a time of Conservative attitudes, economic growth, and the decline of the Eastern Bloc. Islamic Insurgencies were viewed as allies since they were combating the Soviets in Afghanistan, and they wouldn't try anything against the west until the failed bombing of the WTC in 93'. The "Gangster" attitude that Blacks took up didn't gain momentum until the 90's either. All in all, Trump didn't have a reason to run for President.
Trump has said many times he would only run for president if he felt no-one else could, and by the the 2010's things got so fucked up cultually, economically and politically that he had no choice but to step in.
kek
Checked and keked
Because he is a fucking businessman.
He knows it's sometimes better to wait it out and bide your time until opportunity presents itself to capitalize on it for profit.
He just treated the presidency as just that. A business move. He waited until the moment he knew he would be able to persuade people, and seize the win.
Because he is Donald J motherfucking Trump.
Main Stream Media shilling before Information Age with internet would shut him down hard.
Waited just in time for memes and alternative info being available before running
No man could have predicted this information shift in the 80s.
Right?
Not in the timeline we just left, maybe.
If anyone was going to foresee the course of mass media, it was Trump.
>competing with Reagan
Ronald was a fucking juggernaut
The Resurrection of Kek
Because first you get the money then you get the power
replace "with" with "against' goddammit lawl
And he stopped the future juggernauts by signing amnesty in cali and not building the fucking wall.
Does this scare the hell out of anyone else? We're lucky they didn't try the shit they pull these days back then.
He was making a buttload of money, did you even see his interview with Oprah ? He said it's a mean life and that he wanted someone else to do job. If not (which happened) then he wouldn't rule it out.
he ran in 2000 but dropped out
Fuck dubya actually did even though I'm not american and think he was slime.
>Obviously he just got sick of waiting
It was now or never. He will die in our lifetime.
imaigne what it was like before hte 60s when it was just some radio broadcasts and TV people had to believe what they were told.
Jokes about Trump in the White House are a bit weird now, i don't know.
But they did.
Because America was great in the 80s
Pretty sure the problems he saw recently are what got him
I don't think he would have tried if those problems were around
Zoe Quinn and Anita Sarkesian. Them and their White Knights.
This. He's stated several times now the reason he is running for president is because Obama has been the worst one of his lifetime.
Witnessed
He wouldn't have won any other election.
Why don't you ask him?
...
And THIS is why I support him.
He had to wait for the time to "feel" right. You'll understand when you're older kiddo.
He didn't want to. He said this. He could have lived a well off life and never had to take all this shit.
>Why the fuck did he wait so long?
4D Chess
His internet meme army was not ready.
I think it was due to the way the world has become, back in the 80's it seems like life was not this socially retarded.
I think thats why he is back, and may kek provide him the tools to curb the liberal tears
SJWs weren't so bad in the 80s, there were more jobs and less terrorism?
Fuck, Obama is savage.
Because he can only be President twice. He had to wait until the time when he was most needed.
Lmao.
The pieces were not in place yet to ensure a victory. He waited until the time was right.
kek Fox is now the most honest news station.
Because man grows older and becomes Wise...
(Young wine and mature wine)
You would not like to have a youngster as a Mr. President...
His first try was actually in 1999 when he joined the Reform Party. He dropped it because he probably saw it was an operation that would go nowhere.
He was waiting for a race he could win, and this time he called it correctly. Though I think luck and the incompetence of his opponents had a lot to do with it.
I imagine he saw a diverse Republican playing field with a front-runner (Jeb) he could feasibly take down. On the other side was a very unpopular leading candidate with a lot of skeletons in her closet to distract from any flak thrown at him. Additionally, the US was coming off a full 8-year Democrat presidency, making a flip to the other party more likely no matter who was running.
Dukakis lost in the 80s for taking a picture standing on a fucking tank. Trump would not have succeeded in the 80s. Trump in 2016 could have run someone over in a tank and still won.
Too bad for him his banter got shut down fast
He knew he couldn't win an election unless the Democrats ran someone like Hillary.

The Trump presidential campaign of 2000 for the nomination of the Reform Party began when real estate magnate Donald Trump of New York announced the creation of a presidential exploratory committee on the October 7, 1999 edition of Larry King Live. Though Trump had never held elected office, he was well known for his frequent comments on public affairs and business exploits as head of The Trump Organization. He had previously considered a presidential run in 1988 as a Republican, but chose not to run. For 2000, Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura persuaded Trump to seek the presidential nomination of the Reform Party
Trump focused his campaign on the issues of fair trade, eliminating the national debt, and achieving universal healthcare as outlined in the campaign companion piece The America We Deserve, released in January 2000.
Critics questioned the seriousness of Trump's campaign and speculated that it was a tactic to strengthen his brand and sell books. Trump defended his candidacy as a serious endeavor and proclaimed that he had a chance to win the election. Though he never expanded the campaign beyond the exploratory phase, Trump made numerous media appearances as a candidate, traveled to campaign events in Florida, California, and Minnesota, and qualified for two presidential primaries. Veteran campaign strategist and longtime Trump aide Roger Stone was hired as director of the exploratory committee.
Internal conflict caused Ventura to exit the Reform Party in February 2000
Though he believed he could still win the Reform Party presidential nomination, he felt the party was too dysfunctional to support his campaign and enable a win in the general election. A poll matching Trump against likely Republican nominee George W. Bush and likely Democratic nominee Al Gore showed Trump with seven percent support. Despite his withdrawal, Trump won both primaries for which he qualified.
You know, this is something I've admired about him throughout the election.
Regardless of the goofy way he speaks at rallies and all that he genuinely does seem like he wants to do some great things for our country and, while his political views haven't always been consistent, he has stayed on track warning us about our disastrous trade dealings with other nations for over 30 years.
Whether he'll do good as president has yet to be seen, but if he stays away from being a puppet of the establishment like he has the past year and a half I think he could do some really remarkable work for us.
Oh and of course, he's 70, it was now or never. He didn't have much to lose, either he boosts his brand or gets the most powerful elected office in the world.
He said why, himself. It's not my fault you obviously don't do any research at all.
He knows about (((them)))
He's a time traveler.
Christ, how stupid are these fucking people?
And they called themselves journalists. Trump fucking demolished them. Imbeciles.
It's not like he's been planning this for decades, and has had decades of experience with the media. I just can't understand the arrogance of the modern day press. It's breath-taking.
The pendulum wasn't far enough to the left.
Now it's going to the right FAST. And he took advantage of it.
#GamerGate
He really just wanted to play video games
>election comes
> jews trick us making hilliary an enormous person a hero everyone will vote for her
> she starts fucking up people feel sorry for her lets make her win
> keeps going on and on
> election day jews think that we will win and make her the winner
> rig trump
wanna know why, the riots, the riots right now people are burning down shit and beating people hard, the jews wanted this to happen so then we can collapse as a country. Right now the stock market is crashing aswell dow has a huge falling chance in December. So the exact plan is to make trump win so they can start killing us and have obama in office for a third term then eventually war with russia and china will happen. We got played like a fucking fiddle. If we chose the Clinton route which is the most fucking retarded one, we would have had a good economy but instant war before she took office so trumps route is the slow painful death and not getting in route. Plus a bad economic collapse with us starving and swat everywhere. Which that was the plan after all collapse the world then clean it up with one world currency and population control.
They thought they could keep the Obama party going and that the GOP establishment would be able to shut him down during the primaries easily (admittedly I kind of thought that too during the first few months of the primaries since I remembered him on Good Morning America talking about a potential run back in 2012 and didn't take it that seriously).
Obama was essentially a candidate of their own creation and they thought it would be in a shoe-in with the first female president, they never expected the silent majority to rise back up even after the past 3 midterm elections.
I'm really hoping their arrogance continues into 2020 and ensures him a second term, they're already spewing out misleading articles about his plans with Obamacare right now.
Obama humiliated him on 2011:
He ran manny times, but lost each time he tried up untill 2016. Every time he lost he traveled through time, back to before the election
I honestly think trump is genuine and that he's doing it for all the right reasons, the USA is spiralling out of control.
This, good job britfag. Do know that he barely skirted this election, the prominence of his twitter helped a lot too. His social media game was pretty good, better than most candidates. Lastly, I am still thinking that the Trump and CFG generals were run by Trump's internet/social media ops. It grew so big that it can run independent now. Prove me wrong, I am jsut speculating but whatever Trump did, it did great and fired up on all cylinders. His rallies and the fact that he has a plane that he can use to go to said rallies helped a lot too. His policy speeches and the people that he hired were good, from manaport, to pierson, to stephen miller etc etc. He has kids that he can boast and can speak eloquently for him, that worked in his favor as well. The NRA and evangelical endorsements worked well too and the admirals and generals endorsing him helped as well. There is just so may good things happening for his campaign.
it took 15 years but they finally became fair and balanced
This map will never cease to make me kek
I swear the democrats in 1984 were almost as dumb as they've become today, thinking they could run an unpopular presidential campaign from an administration that basically accomplished nothing of value.
How the hell did his hair colour change from that?
>they're already spewing out misleading articles about his plans with Obamacare right now.
Fuckers just can't learn from their mistakes. It's astonishing how little they understand their own audience.
Arrogance is the greatest sin of all, let there be no mistake. Trump plays the arrogant braggart, but has been playing this game FAR longer than almost all of these faggots. And it shows.
Judge people by their actions. No one 'accidentally' becomes President of the United States, which is the narrative these gibbering retards are trying to convince themselves of.
Fuck the media. Fuck their pint-sized brains.
*Judge people by THE RESULTS of their actions
This, also I can't imagine he would want to continue Ross Perot's legacy of failed third party bids that get more Clinton puppets into office.
