Australia has made a big effort to be super close to America. We basically do anything you've told us to for the sake of being shielded militarily in the event of a third world war (likely in Asia).
The Australian people are generally neutral to unfavourable to America but our pop culture and media leech off of you as if we can't be creative ourselves at all.
That's where the project and similar light news media comes in, they feel connected America as if we are a passenger of your tidings. Until you do something we(they) wouldn't do, which is elect trump.
