I am a CAD designer... What do you think of me?

Any likeness?

>still using cad

Revit master race reporting

I used it, and how exactly is it masterrace?

Siemens NX or Creo are ALOT better.

>tfw forklift driver with an engineering degree

Who else is a failure?

Other than a fucking leaf, you're cool.

revit is a cad software you tard

>reposting this thread.
Wew, lad, nobody cares.

No.

Should I take a nap or should I stay awake?

Start building the fucking wall.

Young engineer here. How do I gain your respect, I always ask the machine guys if it's possible/how easy it is to make a part before I give it to them but that's it.

>wanted to enter a cooking school but my dad put that my number one wish school be Mechanic School(MOC)
I've been working on CNC mashines for 3 years now and i still don't know shit.

Why did you hit that boy with your car?

can you make a great america?

Tell us a story about a dumbfuck who wore a tie in the machine shop and got decapitated

Become a perfectionist.

Check this canuck's channel out, yankee.

It's not easy brother. Keep trying your hardest.

I work on SMD machines, it's k

She never left, our hearts did.

How did you get into it?
The only decent paying jobs I see around me are machinists and CNC programmers but there aren't any apprenticeships or programs for it at the vocational center.

realize that machinists are going to hate you no matter what they say to you...that being said, produce a drawing which they cannot possibly be able to pin the blame on your when they inevitably fuck up

go fuck yourself reddit

Sorry to hear that. I walked into my job. I'm a non papered machinist/programmer. I work in a very small shop.

pretty cool mang, thanks for machining

>tfw no question

Well, this was the only reason I opened this thread.

Queu the people getting tore up in gears

>Dirty station
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Come to America, all we do is hire Engineers.

electro-mech tech / PLC programmer master race here I'm the guy they call to install, commission, and fix your machines.

Fucking CAD.
You guys are machine operators.
Real men do the math, use a scale, verier and their eye.

what do you machine/make

>revit is a cad software you tard
this of autodesk. Of autocad which is really the leviathan of cad

sigh

Things like this. But much more interesting stuff.

see Autodesk CAM

how is this impossible?

I am one too AMA

I thought this was a battlestation thread from thumbnail... lets do that. Where do you observe the riots, rallies, etc.. ?

Die plates?

Fuck off JACOB

Are you ISO 9001?

Do you suffer from chronic sleep disorder?

what is that?

Does that chair have four fucking misshapedn legs? It doesn't look comfortable at all

We're ready.

Surprised nobody's posted gore of machine accidents yet

Yes.

Yes.

Yes. How did you know?

Honestly, if you've learned how to do drawings properly any retard should be able to produce the part from the drawing so long as they know how to use the tools. Drawings don't specify the order of operations and that generally is up to a manufacturing engineer

>having a machine do the work
>master race

Nope. Gotta work with your hands to be master race, sunshine

>white

They just finished installing this, makes #8.

I know you like working a small company.
Had the same tread yesterday.

Whats the worst you ever caused a machine? I broke a probe by being too careful. Also blew the door off the machine.

Who makes that machine? I use a Haas (don't laugh, we are a small company and it makes us money)

What cam? I use Gibbs

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Machinist

welded a tap holder and tap in a part before

Yeah, I want to learn as much as I can, Also teach as much as I can.

How thick is daylight?

MAZAK IS BEST MACHINE

Actually, mechanical engineers are the master race. AMA

I think you mean electrical

Electricals aren't worth a shit without mechanicals.

Watch out for chinamans

Fuck off

I'm not OP but I melted an insert drill once, it fused to the part. Really wish I had kept it as a trophy

Same

What kind of machine do you operate?
Usual tolerances?
Can you say what kind of parts you make?

Why is stainless such a bitch to machine

ChemE here

MechE's are substandard

304 sucks to machine, tell your folks to spec 303 instead unless they really need 304.

HAHA NO WAY

Can you machine a weapon?

done the same senpai

Hahahahaha no

Just a few broken tools, nothing crazy. Makino A81 with funuc controls. I asked a lot of questions at the beginning so I wouldn't crash anything.

>hurr durr petroleum
>master race
pick one and only one

>Kurt

>Muh MIT
>Still can't produce a proper drawing
>Oh my bad I was telling the other engineers about my piece of shit SAAB or VW in the break room
>I'll fix it in 3 hours but I need that part in 1 hour.

Makino, .005 tolerance.

how do you get into that line of work?

>.005 thats cute
try+.0001 -.0000

Literally walk in and say you can do this. But having a piece of paper helps.

Is that a Coromant insert?

OP answer me this, how does it feel that as a CNC operator you will be outsourced for 3D printing in 10 years guaranteed?

Weak. +/- .0001 here

pretty easy senpai you can be a machine operator almost anywhere

Did you died?

I can fuck with that .0001 concentric

looks beautiful

How can you guarantee something 10 years in the future? Are you a wizard?

Is that the yank equivalent of a fitter?

???????????????????

Its fun making shit but it can be a fucked up place to work depending on the shop. They can be extremely grumpy assholes, office people are clueless, engineers are clueless, shop politics are wack as fuck. Depending on the shop you could be stuck making the same part hundreds of times on some old POS machine. There are also great opportunities. I only know how to machine manually and don't work in the industry anymore but it was fun. Take some classes at the community college and put in some resumes at places, the college might even help you find a job.

Make this

You're probably the same kind of retard thinking that automated trucks will take over in 5 years.

that movie is so fucking great

No, a fitter actually puts things together. A machinist makes the parts.

but Elon Musk told me a fully-automated vacuum train will take me to the space elevator (also fully-automated) so that i can board a fully-automated spaceship to fly to mars next week, and all only for $58 billion of taxpayer money per person (payable directly to his bank account)

Depending on the material you work with, you have to wear safety gear right because I heard some metals can be toxic in dust form or do you do everything behind a safety glass?

Like how personal up and close with do you work with the material as a machinist?

I had the impression a machinist can safely do his work from far away compared to an old fashioned blacksmith or welder.
