For the most part, except with the fuck tha police mentality that it has and the gay daughter with super powers thing.

the soundtrack was atrocious and the editing was garbage in general, tell me Sup Forums, what did I retroactively think of it all along?

>willingly watching a CW show

Why tho?

Anissa gas always been gay with powers

The shitty rap is unbearable

>horrible soundtrack
>white racism pushed to the extreme at the beginning with the police handcuffing him. Could have been done a lot better without the "mai racism" push.
>nigger culture vs black culture

>nigger culture is portrayed with an albino
What did they mean by this? But honestly the race aspect is pushed too far to where it's comedic. He said this was the third time in a month that that's happened you him. If you're going to paint La la in a sympathetic light approach the police from that same human point as well.

Tobias has always been albino, go back to Sup Forums

>If you're going to paint La la in a sympathetic light
Lala wasn't painted as sympathetic.

>luke cage
>Black lighting
I see you can't be a black character without being a crybaby, can't wait to see Black Panther say MUH RAYCISM as well

Blood on Me was a great track to use, fuck you. I bet you're American.

>white racism

When was this? I might have blinked and missed it.

Did not know she was gay.

europoor here, you have shit taste

>Sup Forums
>not reading comics
Color me surpised.

soundtrack was atrocious because its the black version of those crap songs they put in teen wolf.

When he got profiled by the police. Saying the police profile black people is racism directed at white people.

Shit nigga it was a joke

Sympathetic as in you can see why he thinks his way his right. He knows what he's doing is wrong but sees it as his way of making a living and difference. The cops in the episode were one dimensional, but then again it is episode one

I was really saddened by that. I just wanted to watch black hero do hero stuff. I wish there had been less ebonics and urban stuff but some say that is realism and "truth of none white experience in the US" Im also under the delusion that black people want to wear a suit and have all that "white stuff" instead of being happy "urban"

Holy fuck you're retarded. You're under the age of 25 right?

Why does anything remotely involving black people make whites so damn insecure jesus

>Sympathetic as in you can see why he thinks his way his right.
Nah you're full of shit. The show never once made the allusion that what he was doing was right.

I really did not get it. He even points out that he is in a suit and with his 2 daughters, how does that look like a convenience store robber. hell how did they even ID him? What combo of words did that Chinese lady use to get such result

Don't be a twat. Police brutality isn't about white people. Or at least not directly. It's the system that perpetuates the assumption that black people by design are dangerous by default. Open a book. Get off your block.

>Shit nigga it was a joke

>I was only pretending to be a cunt

>Police brutality isn't about white people.
Yeah right, media tries to tell people that all cops are racists against black people for a reason. It's all the same tune of fuck whitey.

it combined with lines like "everyone here has someone they know who is in jail" or " while you are playing video games, white kids are being raised to run the world" MLK quotes, etc paints an image.

Right to him in his mind not to us as an audience. The scene with him and the little kid shows that. Where he berates him for playing on his phone because he thinks the kid will always be a peg under the white kids he sells to. He's even shown to have his own twisted code of ethics showing that there's some method to his madness. However the police aren't given the same benefit of the doubt.

Where do you think you are?

what an original argument. lay off the alt-cuck facebook pages its rotting your brain.

This site is too full of pissant edgelords to actually discuss this show.

I would say the show actually portrayed him in a negative light, what with the trying to pimp young girls and pulling a gun on Jefferson when he tried to sop him from hurting a kid. Are you sure you're not thinking of will?

>Where he berates him for playing on his phone because he thinks the kid will always be a peg under the white kids he sells to.
That's not a sympathetic scene for him though, he pulled a gun on our hero when he told him to knock it off.
>He's even shown to have his own twisted code of ethics showing that there's some method to his madness.
The show subverted that idea yhough, it's not ethics that guides him but pure pragmatism.

I'm hoping Disney has enough tact to not have a scene where BP's limo/car gets pulled over.

Was Will the wanna be gangsta bitch kid

I may be reading this wrong but I'd be willing to put money on the fact La la will be on a redemption arc

I think you're reading it wrong, Lala has no reason to be redeemed.

Here I thought Sup Forums not reading comics was a myth.

So which other black heroes do you want to show up?

I swear half the black superheroes have the word "black" in their names

Name one besides lighting and panther

Black Vulcan in his pants

Best female cast with Riverdale in CW

Black Goliath

does Black Manta count?
Black Eagle
Black Vulcan
Blackwing
Black Racer
Black Ice
Black Eagle
Black Samson
Black Talon
Black Goliath
Sister Voodoo (her last name is black, does that count?)
Blacklight
Black Badge
Black Musketeers
etc but yeah those you named are the most well know ones.

>BLACK LIVES MATTER
>Proceeds to electrocute cop car

This show is woke

Daughter monologuing:
>In this moment, black lightning was reborn

Skyrocket.

no limits? I want spawn

>does Black Manta count?
He's not a hero, but he is black.

>Recently really got into ebony porn
>this show
I can't fucking take it.

>saying police profile black people is racism, it doesn’t happen

Thank you for that I needed a laugh.

What do we know about the licencing rights for Milestone characters at the moment?

They're not gonna use any Milestone characters.

>white racism
So... just regular racism then?

Amazing man would be good but it's funny, Black lightning is really the few street level black heroes DC has.

Black lightning isnt a crybaby and seems more "pissed off black man" mixed with "father on a mission to save his family" more than anything

What's with black people and electric powers?

>black lightning
>storm
>static shock
>electro in TASM2
>that fat kid from Logan
>John Coffey from green mile

No one knows but it's its own trope
tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ElectricBlackGuy
I personally dont mind, it's a funny thing to see over and over

The only other superpower that black people have more often is being redhead in the comics.

>he uses their mistakes
>We need to stop blaming
Other people made mistakes affecting us but shouldn't be blamed for them...

>We need to learn to swim in the waters that still haunt this city.
We're in a shitty situation but rather than get out, we should learn to live with it...

Am I supposed to think that man is wise?
Because apart from the basic idea that a person who murdered and robbed should face justice, all I see is a man who's content of a bad situation. Like a firefighter happy to see a fire to extinguish.

The only scene I didn’t like was the cop car blowing up. If he wanted to trash the dash cam, there are easier ways than nuking the car. I couldn’t tell if those were the racist cops from the beginning, so maybe that was the reason? I know they wanted a “BL is dangerous and the public should be worried” message to help convince him not to super more, but it just seems weird to me. Also, so why is the only black cop the one that does nothing? He just gets blamed for the gang still being around and saying “I’ll get your kids, don’t worry”, but then BL saves them and he still did fuck all. Overall I’m a fan, but I would like to see more dark cops and the stuggles they have to face, or maybe they’re coruppt to, but in a different way. (I hate to mention Rick and Morty, but the Morty cop is a great example of what I’m talking about)

I think Jefferson just REALLY dislikes cops saying racist shit and he attacks them when it happens. Maybe that's why he doesn't have a good reputation among them.

I guess, but if he has a history of cop-based violence, doesn’t it kinda go against the racism message?

The police chief said the cops that pulled over BL weren't his men. They probably arent even actually cops.

Since it was implied that the racist cops in the beginning weren't even real cops, or least weren't part of the local police department, my guess is that having the cops pull over BL three times in the month was MEANT to make him so angry and bitter that he would lash out at the cops. Perhaps someone is trying to turn BL into a public menace.

>full cop gear(even weird cop hat shaped showercaps)
>an entire cop car(with plates)
>some rando store owner
I doubt they were his cops, but how do you steal that much shit and never get caught? Even if you buy it from some police auction, don’t they have rules about making sure you can’t be confued for real cops? Like the cars have to have all their shit removed?

They were real cops, black lightning was retired for 10 years and Tobias thought he killed him so there wpuldn't be a plot to discredit black lightning.

>I guess, but if he has a history of cop-based violence, doesn’t it kinda go against the racism message?
Maybe, but Jefferson is just a guy. He is allowed some flaws.

>being a litteral cop killer
>some flaw
You must have a colorful personallity for that to be “some flaw”

I like the show
never saw it nor the comics
but the show helped me meet my sales quota for the month
someone from the local CW station came to buy a shitload of tvs as a giveaway promotion for this show

He didn't kill any cops. He just hurt them.

>anytime someone is hurt means they're put in a sympathetic light
I didn't feel bad for him and it never seemed like I was supposed to feel bad for him. You're just an actual faggot, user.

Plenty of black cops are guilty of it too, but I bet you'll still say it's about the fragile white fee fees.

>was it accurate to the comics?
No. He doesn’t have an afro
