waahhh waahhhhh we lost waaahhhh

Thank you based founding fathers for the genius idea of the Electoral College

...

They won't be done counting for a long ass time.

New York and California account for a 4.2 MILLION surplus of Hillary Votes.

Your opinion is discarded

We can talk about abolishing the electoral college when California starts enforcing voter ID requirements.

Until then, keep crying.

This

Please keep crying

Your tears sustain me

Millions of illegals voted in CA and NM.

>He still doesn't understand how elections work

Point and laugh

It's almost like there's a process in place to prevent two states from deciding an election. Surely it has a name. I'm drawing a blank. Anyone?

THE ALT-LEFT WILL RISE!
PROTECT THE WEAK AND TRAMPLE THE UNEDUCATED!
HAIL HOPE!
HAIL LOGIC!
HAIL SCIENCE!
EMBRACE PARADOX!
LOVE OR DESPAIR!

>muh california
>muh new york

Coincidentally, the only two states that matter.

Also, 3.4 million voters in Cali voted for Trump and their votes weren't counted. Likewise, a similar number of Texans voted for Hillary and their votes weren't counted either.

According to you, your location means that your voice shouldn't be heard.

Trump is illegitimate and not my president

lol I wonder why she didnt call for a recount in states like Pennsylvania and FL. Its almost like she knows we'll discover all the voter fraud involved

You mean the electoral college? Yeah, unfortunately it doesn't give a fuck about states' rights either, smart ass.
You could very well win the election with one fifth of the states.

Here's a tip.

It's the same amount of electoral votes no matter how many votes come from California

Win a majority of states or shut up.

California has no right to silence multiple states

Popular vote would only matter if they were distributed throughout the US equally.

That is what the electoral college does.

We'll abolish the electoral college if we pass racyiss voter ID laws for federal elections.

Oh wait I'm going to push for that anyway.

It means New York doesn't get to dictate Arizona's immigration policies
The shitholes that gave illegals drivers licenses and voting rights can secede, go ahead, please

yep because we're not a democracy. We're a federated republic. If people want to build a socialist utopia they can do it in their own state, and prove to everyone else how wrong we are. A lot of people aren't down for that though.

Both New York and California are Sanctuary cities without voter ID laws.

Both cities are host to millions of illegals.

Use that common sense and realize a lot of people who aren't American voted in this election, dominantly in sanctuary cities.

If you don't understand why Obama reinforced sanctuary cities for illegals, this exact political scenario is why.

It's ironic that the Liberals call right wing people uneducated, but as a centrist I find it to be the exact opposite.

Liberals need to suck it up like men and deal with the results of a fair election.

>Illegal immigrants run up the score in CA and NY, that's why she's barely ahead in the popular vote

Oh wow good for her. If CA and NY actually mattered, R's would come out to vote and make it a little closer in that shit state, you know this, right?

It's not supposed to guarantee a majority of states, just give smaller states an advantage. You always get at least 3 electoral votes regardless of population.

If you have a problem with the EC you might as well start your campaign to end the Senate since it also allows more power proportionally to smaller states.

It's fine, he'll be ahead in the popular vote after ~3,000,000 Hillary votes disappear due to deportation.

the job of the college is to add a layer of protection from ourselves. And what do ya know, it worked.

Hillary was playing team deathmatch when everyone else was playing Capture The Flag.

>t. Pedro

When did I say that?

I think states should be able to iron out the details to fit their own needs.

But your argument is retarded.
A state of 400,000 people should decide what a state of 30,000,000 people does?

How is that any better? As a matter of fact, it's measurably worse. Your logic is completely fucked.
There have been reports that ultra-conservative states have been preventing minorities from voting.
I mean, they did have a history of doing that, did they not?

waaaaaaaah. if our elections were based on popular vote, california would always rig the election to our favor. waaaaaaaah

socialism will win in the end you fascist mutants. the white working class will rise up against all the trickle down bullshit your senile apprentice guy is about to enact

It's like Trump won the thing he campaigned for or something.

Both campaigns knew the rules of the game and participated knowing this could happen. Kill-inton accepts the result and so should you.

...

Yet how many of those 630k are illegals, dead people, and double votes? How many are surplus votes from cali and new york, were they already gave their points to hillary and are thus totally irrelevant?

Why should Wyoming have as much say as California in the Senate? Fuck those stupid redneck racist ranchers.

...

if it was a straight election then republicans in populated states like cali and new york will have more incentive to vote

whereas mexicans are bussed to polling places in texas and begged to vote constantly

trump would win if it was a straight democratic vote

>less than a million votes
>300M populous
>majority

Yes he did, and don't you forget it

Not sure if it's a dark joke of you or not.

But i think it REALLY IS genius.
As if they foresaw the situation you're in now one way or the other.

Sorry California, but you're only worth 55 electoral collage votes even though you mobilized millions of illegal beaners to vote. Cry moar.

If elections were directly on behalf of the citizens, states wouldn't matter, asshole.

People could vote anywhere and everyone's votes would matter.

You think a Trump supporter in California would be inclined to vote with the way things are now? Of course fucking not. They all know California is going to be a blue state no matter what, so the win-and-take-all system isn't going to let their voice be heard.
The EC was never conceived to give small states an advantage. It was made by Alexander Hamilton who wanted a safety net between the general public and the general election.

She really is the eternal cuck

>the only two states that matter
Not according to this election, pleb.

Not joking at all friend, the founding fathers of the US were some of the greatest men to ever live.

>college

Can't type because the Jews are in my brain.

Wow, it's almost like the Democrats are enacting their ballot stuffing/illegal voting tactics nowbthat they aren't being heavily scrutinized.

Really makes you think..

Something similar with Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton in this year's DNC, too.
It's fucking ridiculous.
The whole point of a democracy is that the popular vote wins, no matter how tiny the margin. You're just being a contrarian for the sake of being a contrarian.
I'm fairly certain TX has plenty of illegal beaners. That didn't stop TX from going blue for a surprisingly long time.

He won the electorate in flat out landslide, the vote count is practically meaningless.

Its also designed to make sure that factions (parties) can't just camp out in population centers and instead must have widespread appeal.

I would much rather have the current system than have candidates campaign in California and New York and ignore everyone else

Oh lord I hope so.
>We have logic on our side
>While we don't understand climate change entirely, our commissar insists on a carbon tax
Kek

>wyoming
>redneck
you dont know what that word means do you

I propose from this point forward, anytime some dipshit asks about the EC, we reply with this image exclusively. Repeat ad infinitum until the shills/morons are exhausted.

I'm talking about generally.
Nobody cares about you if you don't live in NY or CA.
These are the only two relevant states. The rest are just there.
>I would much rather have the current system than have candidates campaign in California and New York and ignore everyone else

The electoral college has been shown to not improve that at all.
Presidential candidates continue to spend 90% of their time in CA, NY, OH, IL, FL, and MI, and the other big states.

If the EC was meant to protect smaller states/communities, then it is doing a shit job.

The whole point of a good democracy is that the left wing is blocked and undermined at every turn

>The whole point of a democracy is that the popular vote wins, no matter how tiny the margin.

Our nation was founded on electing representatives since we're a republic. The shit is in the constitution. Pure democracies tend to be complete piles of shit, you fucker.

This. I had no idea what the point of the college was before this election but now it makes sense once I saw how big commiefornia really was.

You're retarded.

The electoral college has been criticized long before Hillary's failures.

Even if Trump had lost the electoral vote but had won the popular vote, I'd be protesting against it.
It is a failed system that neither protects states' rights nor the rights of the people. It has to go.

If America backtracked and listened to these petulant children in giving Clinton the presidency, your country would lose at least one credit rating score and enrage the other half of the country and put doubt into the global economy. Earth to stupid people

I'm willing to bet most of that is voter fraud from illegal spics in Illinois, New York and Cali.

Maybe, but when I see people in cities trying to decide what is best for people in rural areas, I'm gunna call bullshit. People in cities get just about everything from rural areas but would fuck that up because of muh democracy

Your tiny world view does not reflect the national view.

You have no clue how the electoral college works.

Electoral votes are actually people who then meet in December and vote for the next president in some weird ass convention.

They are not representatives. We do not elect them, nor are they obligated to vote on behalf of the people.

You've alluded to the reason why it helps out the smaller states but for some reason you can't make the logical connection

All of the votes past what is needed for a plurality in the big states literally mean nothing. All of those extra Clinton votes mean nothing. Because of this, the impact of these big population centers is decreased, while the power of the smaller swing states becomes much greater

>It is a failed system that neither protects states' rights nor the rights of the people. It has to go.

I'm 30 years old and I remember when Bush won out over Gore. There were no real protests and riots. There was no real bitching and crying from the media outside of Comedy Central making a satirical "That's My Bush" sitcom that lasted like two seasons. You younger millennial and/or Gen Z crybabies really need to grow the fuck up. Your candidate lost. Get the fuck over it.

Reminder that the US is a Representative Republic composed of 50 nation states, not one homogonized chunk subject to a straight direct democracy.

Pay attention in civics.

>Maybe, but when I see people in cities trying to decide what is best for people in rural areas, I'm gunna call bullshit. People in cities get just about everything from rural areas but would fuck that up because of muh democracy

And again, your logic is that a rural minority should determine over an urban majority?

Again... how is that any better?

>There have been reports that ultra-conservative states have been preventing minorities from voting.

By requiring id?

It's more complicated than that. Historically, all citizens need to have some kind of voice or they'll revolt and will try to break away. It's more important that everyone has a voice than all voices being equal.

Funny, isn't it?

>They are not representatives. We do not elect them

You've never seen "Vote X person for state representative" in your city and/or town? Holy fuck you are a retard.

UNDER BUDGET

>no clue how electoral college system works
>we do not elect them

archives.gov/federal-register/electoral-college/electors.html

What is your opinion on the Senate of the United States? Should it also be removed?

EC is there to make sure the majority don't have a tyranny over the minority. Without EC the only states that would matter would be New York, Texas, California, and maybe Florida.

Seeing how NY & Cali have bigger populations than TX & FL, they would dictate everything. EC was a way to make sure smaller states like Dakotas have some say in how elections go down.

We're a Democratic Republic we elect representatives. Same system had been used for over 200 years. It's written in the constitution under the 12th Amendment.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAH

LIBKEKS BTFO

Who gives a shit as long as we win. The ends justify the means.

"I don't know how the electoral college works!" the thread.

People have been criticizing the electoral college for many many many years. Get over yourself.
Electoral college is not a republic. We do not elect the electors nor are they obligated to represent us. Kill yourself.
Inflating votes is retarded. Period.
It's even more retarded when the whole system revolves around 538 anonymous electors who don't represent us.

And at the same time, you are also silencing all of the republicans who already do live in urbanized areas. I'm from Brooklyn and I know plenty of people who wanted to vote for Donald Trump but didn't bother because they knew that their vote was going to be nullified by the winner-take-all system.

If you had a direct vote, you wouldn't even need to be worried about the urban areas "taking over" because you'd already have republicans in urban areas who would have their voices heard, anyway.

Doing a shit enough job that flyover country wung the election?

Sure thing champ.

So tired of winning.

I thought this was an interesting historical perspective on it. Read if you got free time I guess

YES WE DO YOU MISINFORMED DUMBASS. I'VE SEEN SO MANY VOTE X PERSON FOR STATE REPRESENTATIVE SIGNS DURING MY LIFE. PROBABLY THOUSANDS OF THEM. MAYBE THESE OBNOXIOUS CAPS WILL GET YOU TO UNDERSTAND THAT YOU ARE A LOBOTOMIZED RETARD.

RESPOND

>You've never seen "Vote X person for state representative" in your city and/or town? Holy fuck you are a retard.

I'm talking about electors, asshole.
>whatarelectors.jpg
I don't know, honestly.
I've already addressed this point. Go read my other responses. It neither prevents the "tyranny of the majority" nor represents the small states.
Basically.

We have no idea how people would have voted under a different system.

Wow it's almost as if we use an electoral system instead of a system based on the popular vote. REALLY makes you think, eh?

>who dont represent us

Stop saying this.
archives.gov/federal-register/electoral-college/electors.html
We vote for them you stupid ass

Also, Before you attempt to misrepresent Hamilton any further, please consider reading the Federalist papers, 10 and 51 specifically

Keep working on that English buddy, you'll get it eventually

How many of them were illegals who were allowed to vote?

fraud

Yep. And Hillary's campaign spending out-cost Trump's by about $1 billion, and yet DJT still won the election.

You know what both of those leads have in common? Neither one of them are in things that actually determine whether or not you become president.

Dumbass.

Where were you faggot in 2008?

If there was a problem you should have said something before the election, instead of saying..we will work for unity

you are full of horseshit

I used to laugh at you guys for having that until I read how it works
god bless your founding fathers

>We do not elect the electors
I don't know what fucked up state you're in, but here in MN we do.

Sometimes it helps to reason through the things you believe and why you believe them.

kys

Old Donald psyched that old bitch out. It was a joy to behold

Go fuck yourself anyway she lost

>this level of denial
"There is no Constitutional provision or Federal law that requires Electors to vote according to the results of the popular vote in their states."

"Choosing each state's Electors is a two-part process. First, the political parties in each state choose slates of potential Electors sometime before the general election. Second, on Election Day, the voters in each state select their state's Electors by casting their ballots for President."

Your point?
I've been criticizing the electoral college for a while now. But what better time to criticize it than now? Retard.
