Sup Forums is a brutal darwinian meme factory. Because of the anonymous and organic nature of the site, only the strongest memes survive. Our memes are battle hardened and refined before they even step foot into the wider web.

Then quest thread cancer metastasized, at first it was fun, but it quickly spread to such a degree that the board become terminal
Then moot told everyone on the other boards to go to /tg/ for quest threads and /tg/ basically died overnight, most content just rehashed generals or quest threads over and over
then the Nazi-SJW mod(s) started banning people for arguing about political systems in your roleplaying games - but only if you argued against the prevalent liberal mindset, and anyone who was leaning conservative was told to go back to Sup Forums
It's around this point that I just stopped bothering with /tg/, the one on 2x4chan is much higher quality, but not nearly enough posters.
Current /tg/ seems to have slightly recovered from the last few years. Some of the cancer seems to be in remission.
Best years of /tg/ were the first warhammer wednesday threads on Sup Forums followed by the next few years when we got an actual board to post about warhammer (and some other games) on. But the entire industry has been downhill ever since SJW's appeared. We saw them infect, corrupt, and destroy Sup Forums first, but didn't do anything because we thought it'd be isolated to just them.
