I stopped watching full episodes after Jailbreak and just started doing that and have been able to keep up with 95% of talkback discussions.

the lapis one? it's not particularly exciting but i feel like its cathartic for lapis fans and i'm not really sure what's terrible about it other than the giant hair at the end (of which there were more at the time than there are now)

It's incredibly annoying how the show just goes on hiatus all the time, can't they contract out some animation to get it done faster? The art quality is already mediocre and frequently off model so it shouldn't take too long.

There have been several instances where the episodes were done and CN held them back for one reason or another. Like the huge hiatus before Summer of Steven was them building up a backlog to do, well, Summer of Steven. A couple of the early hiatuses were production related, but IIRC since season 2 they've all been CN's fault.

No, cluster was my favorite era, and now theyve slowly but surely erased the gems from the show and its not mostly SOL shit with just steven. Im fucking angry my waifus are barely in the show anymore

i actually think its worth it if you watch it all in one go. The biggest problem is that the show put slice of life and character growth (that doesnt really matter in the long term) above story. And not all of it is bad, but waiting weeks to months for those episodes are terrible. Episodes like lion 4 arent bad on their own, but they are terrible if you waited weeks after seeing the promo,title and description.

Jungle Moon was pointless meandering leading up tona pretty good final three minutes, then immediately dropped what it was doing to return everything back to status quo for the next episode.

I like it because it means we get to experience the mystery first-hand and fill in the pieces as Steven does.
It just doesn't lend itself to the hiatus/townie episode/teasing lore and then dropping it for a year setup the show has going on.
