In the end it's your decision, there will undoubtedly be many more long hiatuses this year due to the production hiatus that only recently ended. Watching everything after it's completed instead of waiting for a couple of new episodes every few months might even make the episodes less disappointing for you.

But having a good antihero would be entertaining and could really spice things up. The stupid barn is gone now too.

Jasper will be coming back eventually, since it has been confirmed by Rebecca, and I don't think the boarders have forgotten about her since they still draw her sometimes, even if the narrative is not focusing on her right now. What matters is that when it happens it will bring much hype and mark the start of the writers getting their shit together. Hopefully they will stop introducing random one offs and start bringing back focus to the gems we cared about during season one.

I'd say the show's quality hasn't really changed all that much from earlier seasons. What you're thinking about might be the fanbase, which certainly isn't as virulent as it was a couple years ago. But it's hard to tell anyway because the show hardly airs.

Just move onto something else. This feels the same as when CN decided they didn't give a shit about AT or its fanbase anymore, except this time they're still hyping up new episodes of SU for some annoying reason. The show is still here for you to watch, just don't expect much fanfare. I'm sure you'll enjoy the relatively smaller discussions.

The quality of the show honestly isn't *that* bad compared to the first two seasons... the problem is the fucking hiatuses.

If your show is airing every week, then audiences is much more willing to shrug off a bad episode, because they've usually only got to wait a week or two for a better one. But when you're having to wait four, five, eight months between 30-50 minute bombs then sitting through a string of townie episodes becomes a fucking agonizing experience instead of a minor irritant.
