Understanding Comics

What did you think of it? And how are the sequels?

must read
but i havent read it

I thought it was pretty good, haven't read anything else he wrote, though.

Understanding Comics was better

Everybody laughed at him for saying that paying cents for individual comic pages would be viable. A decade later Patreon paywalls were everywhere.

I'm absolutely surprised he didn't tackle Watchmen at length

...

Not really a comic guy, what did he do to reach his understanding of comics and become such an influential figure? All I know about him is he did Not which was pretty good.

I read it when I started reading comics regularly and didn't feel like I gained anything from it.

Been reading it over the past month.

Might as well Storytime for the lovely people.

Reminds me a bit of David Chelsea's Perspective for comic book artists. Though it was more of a technical book in comic book format.
