Just watched this again

Just watched this again
It's better than I thought it was

Although why would they use helicopters to blow up a guy who invented a suit that took down an alien invasion

Thoughts?

It’s called an ambush for a reason.

the president could had simply fly away at any time

In my experience with older, inexperienced people, he was probably just too scared to do anything

So how come regular AIM mooks can just fly the War Machine armor? I thought the whole reason Tony was okay with the US government having a suit is A; they couldn't replicate it and B; Rhodey was the only one who could pilot it?

It's metal
At no point was it ever said that Rhodey was the only one who could pilot it

Horrible movie littered with plot holes and the worst armor that couldn’t do anything right. It couldn’t even blow up right.

>Its metal
Do you....not understand how these suits work? Remember in Iron Man 2 how Rhodey took the MKII? Its a safe assumption Tony has a whitelist of people who can access these suits.

It's the government's suit right now
And also it's not the greatest movie in the world

>It's better than I thought it was
Then youre an idiot because this is among the worst superhero films ever made and jumpstarted marvels decline into the shit its in now.

>shit its in now

Well yeah but do you really think they can fuck with his software? They certainly can't build the suits for shit

>decline
>more successful and popular with each passing entry

He needs the bone suit. Was the best one.

The first thing Justin Hammer said was "I'm gonna upgrade your software"
That's still suit #2

>more successful and popular with each passing entry
Just because its terrible doesnt mean retarded casuals wont gladly eat it up

>tony calls out the mandarin and waits for him
>ambush

That just makes it worse. What the fuck was Tony thinking? Was he going to spot them from his windows? He didn’t even do that!

>Hammer fucks up the software
Okay yeah, now I can buy this. Surprised AIM didn't get Rhodey out of that thing sooner

It was AWFUL, even without the shitty plot twist the villain is one of the worsts I ever saw, he was syndrome but with an even worse reason to be a villain

The tattos and him screaming "I'm mandarin" made no sense,it was extremely cringeworthy fans service to make it "even" to fans about how there was no mandarin at all

This movie was simply trash

Tony's smart but he is not a competent strategist in any sense
There's a reason Cap calls the shots when the Avengers fought as a group

This movie sucked and Iron Man deserves a 4th movie to make up for this one

It's decent
Don't think about it too much
I totally agree though
We need to see Tony face the actual Mandarin

there is a difference beetwen being a bad strategist and comically retarded, that bullshit would only make sense in a comedy movie

Happy was just critically wounded, Tony wasn't thinking straight.

> it's retarded
> but user, everyone likes it
> then everyone is retarded

He still pilots the suits despite Jarvis and Friday being obviously better at it
It's somewhere between ego and incompetence

>Transformers
>Pirates of Caribbean
>Harry Potter
>Star wars
Nice argument, I bet you like all those franchises

Oh wait, It just apply to what YOU like right?

And yet people like shit like the new star wars movies, your point?

How did Wonder Woman get a pass for this?

Is not a good explanation though to simply mock an enemy without preparation like that, his plan had no basis at all

It was like him jumping from a cliff because he's "arrogant" enough to believe he will always find a way to fix everything so he will not die no matter what

Tony isn't that smart

This movie is almost exactly like Ant-Man
If you don't think about it too hard, it's enjoyable

I remember being exceptionally bored outside of the few well-known lines/ moments. Maybe I'm a pleb, but IM2's booze-fuelled, collateral damage scrap with War Machine set to Queen and Daft Punk was way more enjoyable than the entirety of IM3.

I could fly a jet if I was in a jet and knew how to fly a jet

>dude, just turn off your brain

IM2 had all the filler not plotline
IM3 had all plotline no good filler

Iron Man 3 is easily the best Iron Man movie.

But a few moments after being "saved" he started to fly away, he knew how to pilot

That's the requirement for enjoying any DCEU film

No
Rhodey got back in the suit and then flew away

I think Ralphthemoviemaker summed it up best for The Last Jedi

"Just saw The Last Jedi. Not gonna spoil anything but I thought it was okay. The quality ranges from terrific to terrible. It’s very inconsistent but when the movie works it really works."

>What the fuck was Tony thinking?
He wasn't. At least not the way he usually would. The fact that he gets panic attacjs abd shit from New York is a big plot point earlier. Abd then one of his closest friends gets killed and he reacts irrationally.

Think about it this way. If Elon Musk at some point gave his address on TV and dared Kim Jong whatever to come after him, would he be expecting attack helicopters to attack his home ON AMERICAN SOIL literally the lext day?

Yeah I don't know why people think Tony giving out his address is some stupid tactical fail. His house isn't a secret ... no? Anyone with Google can find where he is. He was just acting out because his buddy's hurt, Tony copes through action.

PYM PARTICLE TANK

Small stuff is light, big stuff is heavy. It's really not that complicated.

Then why did he invite a terrorist to his state of the art home that had no way of detecting incoming threats. They were helicopters too. They weren’t even moving that fast. For gods sake they saw the missile heading to them from the tv broadcast. This is the same home that he was able to recreate a crime scene and rewind time.

Literally how.

That’s not how it works friendo. Pym particles reduce size without reducing mass. It was explained point blank and straight forward in the movie and then the movie broke the rules over and over. The tank and the record player scene are the biggest offenders. Or smallest. Pun intended.

To be fair why would anyone expect people who so far have been known to plant undetectable bombs everywhere they want to suddenly do an attack with helicocpters.

From their previous operations Tony might have expected suicide bombers or mailbombs.
Speaking of which why didn't they just send one of their suicide bombers disguised as a mailman or whatever and blow up the whole damn place considering Tony didn't know about extremis at that point.

>and then the movie broke the rules over and over.
Except they don't. Literally in every moment of the movie,
>small stuff is light
>big stuff is heavy
This is consistent throughout the movie. Whatever magic science crap Pym particles have to do in order to achieve this doesn't matter because it's all make believe.

To be fair the comics explain that the Pym particle can influence size, mass, strength and density depending on how it's used. Visions phasing power is using Pym particles as well, for example.
Granted that hasn't been explained in the ant-man movie but it's in the comics.

The attack happened like, what, a few hours after Tony made that threat? If that? He couldn't have expected it to happen just like that, and he was walking around in his suit. He was conveniently distracted right before the attack. He's not in the right state of mind too—he had PTSD and his best friend is in critical condition. Pepper was trying to convince him to leave.

And just because Tony has a bunch of gadgets in his house doesn't mean it can detect incoming missiles.

You realize that ant-mans ability to punch people is the biggest example of size =/= mass, right?

Yeah and? Mass =/= Weight

It's the worst of the ironman movies.

Come on man. This has been picked apart by people long ago. But people just moved on after a while. Scott falls from the bathtub to the floor and breaks a tile because he has the same mass. Then he falls through the floor and onto a turntable and bounces off without wrecking it.

I’m just surprised you’re trying to argue this.
