How many times does Darkseid have to get his ass beaten by Superman (or similar characters like Doomsday) until darkfags admit he's just not that powerful? His reputation as the ultimate DC villain seems quite overblown. He's one of like a dozen Superman-level villains in the latter's rogues gallery, but unlike someone like Doomsday with his adaptive healing or Brainiac with his super intelligence and utterly bullshit tech, he really doesn't have much to fall back on if punching and blasting doesn't work.

Darkseid will always sit on your favorite couch - You have no choice for Darkseid is.

You fucking retard this is funny man stop thinking in terms of power levels dude.
SUPERman wins because he's The SUPERhero he's the antithetical idea to darkseids depressing fascist god idea, he's Hope. He always beats darkseid because darkseids a badguy and that's what superheros do. this isn't a fucking JRPG, its a complex network of stories filled with conceptual beings.

I think most people know him for the sitting.

The issue is that every problem with Darkseid is eclipsed by the fact his Marvel equivalent is a whiny emo.

C-can Oberon see up Darkseid's mini skirt? Dpes Darkseid go commando? Is that why he sits with his legs crossed?

>My agents acquired this televisual feast from a small shop in Metropolis.

Okay, so you sent your agents to scour the city for any leads they could dig up on the whereabouts of Barda, or was this just a happy coincidence that they found this on their daily errand to fetch you illicit back alley porn?

>i-it doesn't count because narrative.
Darkseid is jobber and you have to accept it.

>Darkseid is jobber and you have to accept it.
Every villain is a jobber.

user, Darkseid is a God. A full-blown cosmic nightmare intruding upon the Multiverse itself, who's only being kept from ensuring complete multiversal subjugation into the eternal singularity that Is Darkseid by the powers of New Genesis. Every single time we see Darkseid in any of the comics it's an Avatar that has been constructed, whether it be some very fucking unlucky sod or just an animated mass of rock, dirt, and hate, it's still just an Avatar of the real thing. And as such, the abilities and raw power of avatars tend to vary. Sometimes, they are seemingly no more than glorified aliens, other times they can destroy most heroes with ease, at other points they can be beaten in simply games of fisticuffs, and in others they can make even the Anti-Monitor wet itself in fear. Thus, sometimes you'll see Supes kicking in Darkseid's teeth in one comic, and in the next, every hero and inspiration of hope you've ever read or heard about, including the Big S, is dead. It all depends on how much power the Tyrant God is willing to waste on individual manifestations.

Is Darkseid wearing blue jeans and a leather belt?

He is wearing Dan Turpin as his vessel.

That's just a plot excuse for why his power level is inconsistent.

Darkseid's better as a schemer anyways. In the Fourth world saga it was hard to tell if 'Seid was actually tough or if he was all talk since he never went toe to toe with Orion or anybody. At least, as far as I've read through the omnibus.

Not as much as Drakseid. And you're still wrong.

This. And why he jobs.
Then he is a shit character. He is pointless. And a pussy because he does nothing.

So who's a good villain?

Superhero comics aren't Shonan battle mangas, fights are secondary. Capecomics are mythological soap dramas.

Yes yes, he's a jibber because he doesn't instantly kill all the heroes and make the story into a grimdark hellscape that would make 40k pale in comparison. Oh, that's truly a "shit character" right there because he never corrupts the very ideals of the story itself and makes it near unreadable for anyone who doesn't like watching a story end with a massive fucking Bad End for all existence. Truly, all comic stories should just be onenote chains of never-ending suffering and despair, because that is what (You) truly want.

Pic related is the idea of a jobber.

Darkseid has, literally, never won a fight. Never in the history of comic books.

He did defeat the Marvel universe.

Except Earth-12.

This, you can think that it's just a silly excuse to Darkseid's inconsistent power throughout his editorial story, but it has been continuity for a while now, even before Morrison made him destroy the universe using his true form in Final Crisis or made him a multiversal plague in Multiversity, there were stories that confirmed that the New Gods we usually see in comics are just avatars of more powerful beings that use the Boom tube to manifest into reality, that's definitely the case for the most powerful ones at least, like Orion and Darkseid.
Darkseid and Superman in this sense are the same, they are as strong as the story needs them to be. Superman should not be able to defeat true form Darkseid, but it would not be the first time Superman defeats an omnipotent foe, he's as much bullshit as Darkseid is, and it has also been made continuity by Morrison in Superman Beyond, Supes is the avatar of heroism itself, he can always defeat evil.

But I wouldn't call Darkseid fascist, it's incredibly reductive, Darkseid is collectivism as much as Superman is individualist, I've always saw him more as a personification of socialism in its most vicious form, remember that he was created during the Cold War and Jack Kirby used the fears of the time to make him, he's both Nixon and Communism combined.

Dude no. Darkseid and Apokolips were specifically allegories for fascism, because Jack Kirby served in WWII. Darkseid's design is specifically evocative of Benito Mussolini and his aesthetic. This is also why Darkseid is the god of order, while Highfather is the god of chaos.

As i said, it's a reductive way to see it, Apokolips looks way more like a communist regime, as I said, the most accurate way to look at Darkseid is as an allegory of collectivism as a whole, one could say that Darkseid is Mussolini and Apokolips is fascist since it lives in a state of constant war, others could say that Apokolips and New Genesis respectively represent communist Russia and the capitalistic USA, and at the same time Darkseid is Nixon with a communist philosophy. When collectivism gets taken into account everyone can see whatever they like more, but the core principles of both ideologies are based on the same concepts of violence and group identity, saying that Darkseid is a far more complex allegory for collectivism is way more accurate.

(you) are retarded and have shit taste. (you)r argument is stupid and proves how dumb you are.
(you) too are retarded.

And ((((((((((((You)))))))))))))))))) are worthless scum who when called out on your bullshit-spewing and misinformation that you were attempting to spread through this thread, gets pissy and starts calling everyone else a "retard" for actually providing proof that goes against what tripe youre trying to force others to ingest and believe. Kindly fuck yourself with a power dildo.

>His reputation as the ultimate DC villain seems quite overblown
Reminder that he had a whole event that let up to an unbirthing fetish ending. Not even joking, he's a baby now.

There was nothing to prove, idiot. You didn't argue to why Darkseid is a good character. You said just gibberish.
(you) proved once again how dumb you are.
How people can be so stupid are beyond me.

Doomsday beating Darkseid is just lame writing

By killing Zeus in Wonder Woman Darkseid has returned to adulthood. But for this shorttime he was best Robin.

>There was nothing to prove, idiot. You didn't argue to why Darkseid is a good character. You said just gibberish.
What I said was fairly easy to understand, Reddit. So much so that even someone who has never been exposed to DC's metanarrative concepts could grasp most of it.

>(you) proved once again how dumb you are.
And you've proven once again that you do not have an actual argument or a single genuine point to make besides "DARKSEIDISABADCHARACTERBECAUSEISAYSOBLOOOPITYGOOSCREEEE". Which is just being incredibly dishonest as well as childish, and truly proves that you've never once read a single comic piece regarding the character or the greater narrative that he stems from.

>How people can be so stupid are beyond me.
And how can one person fail so terribly at basic grammar baffles me in the extreme. I do believe that you should return to your schooling system, my dear mentally-addled child.

Read a comic

>Then he is a shit character. He is pointless. And a pussy because he does nothing.
This.

>autism: the post.
I'm not even arguing with you because you wouldn't understand.
I have just one question: what's your IQ?

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Darkseid, so I will help you by posting this comic. Be grateful, slave.

He does Karaoke with Ambush Buh though.

>No guys, you don't get it, there's totally an Uber Darkseid who wouldn't get his ass raped by B listers like Hank Henshaw and Zod! He's just been conveniently hiding off screen so you never see him and basically his existence is irrelevant!

You're full of shit.

Kirby created Darkseid as a powerful demi-god, that was once a normal being for his race.

If Darkseid IS, what WAS before he became Darkseid?

>Kirby created Darkseid as a powerful demi-god, that was once a normal being for his race.
Actually, No. Darkseid and co have ALWAYS been full-blown gods, right from their very conception. It was later writers who made them into demigods/petty alien warlords who were once 'normal' beings. From the very beginning, the New Gods have been cosmic horrors that totally embody specific concepts and ideas. Final Crisis simply brought that part of them back to the fore.

>If Darkseid IS, what WAS before he became Darkseid?
Darkseid of course. Darkseid exist all throughout the Multiverse, retroactively touching upon all parts of it, from beginning to end. I mean hell, even Uxas, the "First Darksrid", was just a guy who sucked up the powers of the Old Gods and became divine, before shedding his old name and taking the name "Darkseid". He wasn't just a mortal who became a deity and just decided to change his identity wholesale, no. It's straight-up mentioned at one point that the name "Darkseid" was a name that struck fear into even the Old Gods themselves, and that they did their damndest to erase all records of said name. Which makes it pretty damn evident that Darkseid has been around for a looooooooooong time, and that Uxas was just it's first 'host' if you would.

>Darkseid and co have ALWAYS been full-blown gods
But who worships them?

The religion of crime

While I do like Darkseid, in my opinion Highfather should stand equal to him. To fit the manichaeistic framework.

Shhhh.... Darkseid is napping.
also checked

What is the point of Highfather? Why isn't he on Superman's or Darksied's level?

i misread a post but i'm gonna shitpost this response anyway.

you can make a strong argument that they're super aliens that are equivalent to gods. Like Kirby's Thor and Asgard. the people that died before them

it's not like a shazam thing where they inhabit once ordinary people.

...

Beta beams

Not really. As thanos has good stories.

No Thanos story is as good as Darkseid is in Kirby's stories, Rock of Ages, or Final Crisis.

I was just saying thanos had good stories.
