New Super-Man and the Justice League of China #20 Preview

Still by far the best book from Rebirth.

...

Deathstroke is actually better

it's all shit and you should be ashamed

This better end with WW or the Flash doing porn

I suppose you think King's Batman is the height of excellent storytelling too.

At least it has actual depth and nuance instead of just "haha, they're like chinese knock-offs. get it?!"

Thanks OP.

wait wait. why do you instantly go to king's batman? i love this series but king's batman is fine honestly. point to some other trash - like the supergirl or something

Good job showing you've never actually read this book.
You're welcome.
I went to King's Batman because that IS a book I see people pointing to as a masterpiece and the best book of Rebirth. There are worse books on a technical level (Birds of Prey is basically unreadable as an example) but I don't see many people calling those books brilliant.

It really isn't. It used to be good, but now it is just decent to boring.

Geez Ladderbro, do you really want a /marvel/ board that bad?

I think Batman, Red Hood, New Super-Man and Deathstroke are the best books of Rebirth. What does that make me?

>Kenan wants to establish democracy in a Communist country while avoiding the same radical mistakes his family did when they tried to do the same
>Baixi believes in the Communist government and this puts him at odds with his younger sister
>Deilan is hinted to be ancient and is the last of her kind meaning she has no family and is thus a relic of the past.
>Gene nailed three political and cultural shifts in the three main characters subtlety and naturally while staying true to the characters they imitate.
Granted Baixi's loyalty to the government is dead now judging by how he bailed Kenan out to let the League be independent

I have an idea for the Hawkman of China. Do you know how they select the new Lama's for Buddist monasteries? They take these kids, who they believe to be reincarnations of the great Lamas, priests and heroes of the past and they put them, completely alone in a room with just a table full of seemingly random objects. However, some of the objects belonged to the previous incarnation, others to their family members or even rivals or enemies.

If the kids choose the items of the previous Lama, he's the real deal.

So imagine these monks in rural, modern China taking this kid to perform this test. They think this kid is the incarnation of the next Dalai Lama or something similar for DC. The boy's an orphan who the orphanage said dreams frequently of flying around certain mountains and drawing historically accurate deceptions of forgotten places. When the monks lay the items in front of the child, after looking bored or annoyed with all of them he finally settles. The monks think he's going to pick the walking cane of the last great Lama, that's the big ticket item. But they're jaws all drop when the kid comes out of the room with a huge MACE in his hands instead.

Neat idea!
If we do get any more members after Aqua-Man and the member of the Lanterns who will inevitably go rogue and join the team, I wonder if we'd get a Martian or Cyborg next, or someone completely different.

someone who actually reads comics he likes, good job.

What are kenans parents up to right now? and the big 12 for that matter?

It makes you somebody with good taste.

Have we ever seen Kenan in normal clothing?

Omen's still at the Ministry
Her husband literally walked out with Kenan but seems to be on his own
Might bring back the Freedom Fighters but reformed
Great Ten were last seen helping fend off criminals Super-Man Zero released

Yeah I say do them all, it's a fun concept to have just straight honest derivative characters with a certain cultural flair to them all. It gets around the whole "kill and replace" BS some writers do and making a cringey, what-if, alternative world. China tends to adapt what they like to see elsewhere in the world so the story makes sense here on a whole other level.

The first issue for sure.
