Why do people seem to hate this movie? Just watched it for the first time. Didn't seem boring like BvS with nothing happening for most of the film. I enjoyed it.

Then you're easily impressed by a by the numbers action movie with shit pacing and a terrible script. Comic fans hate it because it completely misses the point of the Suicide Squad, and the film goes out of its way to make the "villains" everything but bad.

>that joker
>that dceu rotten tomatos logo
>featuring dante from devil may cry

I liked Leto's Joker.

Now that's an image I haven't seen in a long time

It might be a shitty movie, but I'm always impressed by how that image is an exemplar of the mosaic format. All but one of the panels are completely redrawn and there's a solid balance between memes and OC.

I appreciate that there are no less than 3 independent 9/11s in the upper right alone.

>by the numbers
It's anything but.

Literally the worst Joker since at least 1989

Because all they had to do was copy Assault on Arkham or maybe the first part of the Ostrander run.

You remember the part of the movie where Enchantress teleported into a secret Chinese base and stole an important book of military secrets? That should have been the movie, one following the squad THEMSELVES (none of those random soldier extras) going into a military installation and fighting a bunch of soldiers. Also it shouldn't have been a story of 'we're family now' since the Squad always just view eachother in a 'I have a better chance of getting through this with you alive than dead but if freedom comes on the table I'm taking it'

>Go here
>Fight thing
>Exposition
>Go here
>Fight other thing
>Blah Blah Blah
>Boss fight

89 joker was great, leto joker was terrible

>this movie was so unoriginal, it had a beginning, middle, and end.

Then what did you like about it?

Leto Joker was fine.

The characters, the costumes, unapologetic use of magic, how it was clearly made by someone who actually knows comics.

>Clearly made by someone who knows comics
Apparently you don't

Yeah I don't think it's as bad as people say either. I found it entertaining.

Just wish Katana had more screentime.

It sucked fat balls. Doesn't mean I didn't enjoy the movie.

If youre a 15 hot topic girl maybe

Take away the tattoos and grill he's a pretty good Joker.

Horrible villains and horrible villainous motivations, dodgy editing, boring as fuck dialogs, the worst Joker I ever saw in my life, generic as hell story, which was pretty much jokeless Guardians of the galaxy 1

That's just for start, because I struggle to remember anything else right now

He wasn't funny. He was just a snarling weirdo trying too hard

I can't believe you have the balls to say that here

I'd fuck you in the ass if I knew where you live

fuck you

>He wasn't funny
When were any of the movie Jokers funny? Well, OK, the magic pencil was the only thing funny.

>I'd fuck you in the ass if I knew where you live
Is that a promise?

I didn't like it because it was an editing nightmare.

We all laughed at Nurse Joker stop trying to be cool.

From the top of my head
>I suppose to kill the bus driver
>Clicking detonator while dressed as a nurse
>Slaughter is best medicine
>A very unfortunate choice of words

That's already more than Leto

Jack Nicholson was gold, fuck you

Well the way I see it, The Joker doesn't really have to be funny. The Joker is just loke Batman, open to interpretation.

Ledger's Joker was more sarcastic than anything.

At least he was something. Let's was fucking nothing. He tried to cuck himself with Harley and he had knifes. That's the character

>Suicune Squid
kek

It didnt even TRY to be faithful to the source material.

Making Deadshot into the Fresh Prince of Belle Reve and whatnot.

>He tried to cuck himself with Harley
What?

I made the mistake of reading John Ostrander’s Suicide Squad, so I went in expecting quality, instead I got the Harley Quinn show guest staring Smithshot. What I should have done was read New 52 Suicide Squad so I would have went into the movie expecting it to be complete garbage and then I could have left pleasantly surprised rather than disappointed

You're full of shit, this movie was one of the few superhero comic that actually felt like the comics.

>Well the way I see it, The Joker doesn't really have to be funny.
It's people like you who enable writers like Scott Snyder to give us edgy serial killer/faceless Joker.

The Joker should be funny. Not hilarious, not zany and whimsical, but there should at least be some sort of humor behind what he does, even if he's the only one who thinks it's funny. This has been the basis of his character for decades.

The scene where he grabbed some guy and went "Do you want to fuck her?" while Harley was pole dancing.

I am not making this up.jpg

I liked him too, I just didn’t like the script he was forced to play off of of the awful design, he himself was very unsettling in all of his scenes, glad he wasn’t shoved into the movie as the main antagonist. But his whole role in the movie is the exact opposite of what Joker would do, he would never risk his freedom and life multiply times for Harley.

Oh shit I forgot about that!

>these two retards
He was threatening him. How could you misinterpret that scene? Are you autistic where you just can't read facial expressions and body language?

No I frankly disagree. You can stretch anything out to be a joke but the basis of true joker is the universe is a cruel joke and that sanity is a farce.

>Comic fans hate it because it completely misses the point of the Suicide Squad
Do tell what exactly that is.

No (you) didn't

I don't care that he was threatening him, the scene was dumb and pointless anyway.

The Suicide Squad are not a family, they're all criminals and killers forced into a situation that is meant for their own gain. They do gain a begrudging respect for eachother overtime but they won't think twice about leaving the other behind, think about the fact most of the time they'll only save someone else if they're forced to. The movie tried to make them into some Guardians of the Galaxy-tier shit when it did not work for them.

Will Smith did a very poor job as Deadshot pretty much only playing it up as 'WILL SMITH BUT ASSASSIN'. Floyd is honestly not that deep of a character but he's not hard to fuck up, he's a stoic assassin with sense of professionalism. The movie shouldn't even have had his daughter in it at all (it should have been him before finding out he had one) the point being that Deadshot is only good at killing,it's the only thing he knows how to do. All the joking and shit? Boomerang could have filled that part in way better.

boner __ ___ ____ __ __ __ _

It was atrocious. Worst cape movie since Steel.

This. And the women and children bit was a desperate attempt to make him appear redeemable.

They also made Floyd an unwilling member of Task Force X whereas originally he was the only willing criminal because he was actually Suicidal and using the squad as a means to kill himself. We’ll never get this because Will Smith needed to play himself rather than do actual work to prepare for the role, and WB paid him for it.

I really hope Karen stays on.

Sometimes I feel like I’m the only one who was severely disappointed that we didn’t get Dutchess, I’m hoping that they include her in the second one, after the invasion from JL it would be super easy to write her into the universe.

>Redeemable

That was their problem and I think that's a Will Smith thing too, he just cannot play villains. Deadshot all and all is irredeemable by his own choosing. He's had a chance to live a normal functional life but doesn't because he knows someone is gonna track him down and fuck it up. He chooses to not associate with his daughter much because of this fact.

The movie should have just played up his angle in the 'I don't care if I live or die on these missions' with increasingly reckless stunts he'd do to get the job done. The scene where they were fighting Enchantress's forces in the streets? Where he starts advancing forward and taking them out? Instead of them looking at him all heroic for doing it, they should have been staring at him like he was crazy as there was way too many of them for even him to take them all down. The big reveal for him should have been at the end he finds out he has a daughter.

All they had to do was take shit from Beginnings, Bulletproof, Secret Six and some of the Ostrander run.

Why did Katana need to be in this movie again? She felt like such a non-character they could have saved for a Batman or Outsiders movie.

I felt like someone just saw her and put her in the film because she looked cool.

I liked it but can acknowledge it was pretty shitty.

It was mildly entertaining, had cool costumes/a generally cool aesthetic aside from suffering from the same overly dark shit that every DCEU movie has going on, had characters that ended up being surprisingly lovable and a decent OST but you could really tell how rushed it was. Plus some of the dialogue was just shitty and awkward and there were gaping plot holes and the plot was generally fucking retarded but I have a feeling the second one will be much more watchable.

Also I fucking hate Will Smith when he tries to play the stoic morally ambiguous badass. It was tolerable at most in Bad Boys. But it's part of what made both this movie and Bright steaming piles of shit.

Because china

But she’s Japanese

close enough

This just goes to show that “comic fans” know jackshit about story structure in film and television
