Well to be fair the first season or so of GoT was probably the best adaption of a book for television ever made. But the minute they stopped having the source material to adapt the story gets drastically worse and worse. I don't have any faith in them doing anything original. If they are adapting an existing Legends story there may be hope.

I think the issue is that they were trying to have the best of both worlds - use GRRM's story but also make their own version of it. The problem is that the Dorne storyline is a lot more complex than face value, and there wasn't room for it in the show, so they truncated it. Then it was so weak that they gave into fan pressure and just ended the fucking thing rather than letting it play out.
I'm interested to see what they can do with their own stories, though I'm very cautious.

Well for one thing you're shoehorning like 90 minutes of mostly mute, mindless and mediocre action scenes as bookends of an actual full 121-episode-long tv show (THOUSANDS of minutes long) despite the numerous conflicting stuff.
But you do you. I wont stop you enjoying Genddywars, and I fully admit that I actually quite like some of it too. But you can't really pretend like its possible to seamlessly include it in a TCW marathon, you must see how blatantly shoehorned it looks.
You cant really deflect that by saying "wow you care too much about canon, just enjoy what you like" because the context is trying to fit genddywars into something that is completely canon, the very concept of canon is a part of the problem and in contention with anons dilemma about how to actually watch genndywars.
So my answer for user is to just watch them separately and not get mad when someone points out the fact that genddy simply cant and wont ever fit comfortably in canon.

Poe is just bland and dragging on and is spanning out of an era nobody gives a shit about, and Star Wars/Windu was dragged down by bad art.
