Does Blade have a British accent?
Does Blade have a British accent?
I wish we could get back to pre-synergy retcon Blade.
Has Blade ever been good outside of the movies? I once thought how "easy" it would be to rework the plot of Ennis Max for a Character such as Blade.
Is Blade supposed to be biracial now? Didn’t Guggenheim make his dad white?
IDK. He was born in England, right? But how long did he live there? Is it where he grew up?
His dad was Latverian, yeah. He's a Latverian-African-American dude born in England. It's why I hate it when they have him acting all ghetto with the "brothas". Blade would realistically be disgusted by American Black "culture". He's a black guy raised on Euro ways.
Yeah, well most writers have never read a Blade comic and only picture him as Wesley Snipes.
Yeah, he met Whistler while looking for Deacon in Newcastle and Blade himself was born in Soho.
He was around twelve when Whistler found him.
Did he move to the US then or later? Also, Whistler is one of the few things that come from the movies that I like having followed into the comics. Not a fan of the rest.
If he did move to America and stayed there, it’s definitely conceivable for him to have lost his accent. Just look at Rick Springfield and Jonathan Nolan.
You think there aren't "ghetto blacks" in England?
Chav blacks. It's a different flavor of ghetto.
Sure, but Blade was raised properly. It's in his solo series from... 2005 or so, I think.
To be fair, it's hard not to after "some mothafuckas always trying to ice skate uphill"
Is that like Man’s Not Hot?
>Man’s Not Hot?
I was thinking more soccer hooligan, but that's also an acceptable subvariant.
Last i saw him was in Captain Britain and MI-13, and he was great in that. He team kills the vampire seconds after meeting her.
And he made it pretty clear he was british there, too.
>Yeah, well most writers have never read a Blade comic and only picture him as Wesley Snipes.
Snipes's movie is like the only time ever somebody cared about Blade.
Because he's part vampire.
>the only time ever somebody cared about Blade.
Spiderman TAS used him before the film. Plus Whistler was used in TAS even though he was created for the film:
Spiderman TAS "Blade The Vampire Hunter": February 3, 1996
Blade Film: August 21, 1998
I remember seeing the movie poster back in 95 or 96. Guess it must've been delayed a lot.
