aegis missiles don't use laser guidance

The scumbag who invented the flat earth theory is actually the Crown Prince of Norway LARPing, when he was exposed he deleted all of his accounts, google it. Die Royal scum

How do you explain Foucalt pendulums if the Earth is flat?

Gravity bends light you stupid fuck.

ok but no one said aegis.

By never having heard of them. Same way the deal with most arguments, really.

OP can't into gravity

Check out all the GLOBAList propaganda in this thread

The flat earth theory is a bit older than that

Light is affected by gravity

Hehe. Got any evidence of this "gravity" thing you speak of?

tomahawks don't use lasers either

the only laser guided munitions are air to surface bombs

50 miles is pretty fucking flat. The meme is lying.

Yes, but not to a degree that would explain the situation in the OP pic. In that case, it is a matter of moisture. Light tends to curve or distort when passing through humid air. This is the reason one of the most famous experiments in the matter of the earth's curvature resulted in a false reading the first time it was performed. It is also the reason you can sometimes see further down the horizon over water than over land.

Essentially, light bending over water is the primary cause of nearly 90% of flat earthers' "evidence", and it is a perfectly measurable and repeatable phenomenon.

Friendly reminder that space is not real.

is this real ?
i don't want to believe

yes, but the effect is very small

Holy fuck just got woke

A curve is a series of flat lines successively lowered below the horizon.

Oh sure. Just stand under this massive anvil. No don't worry, of course it won't fall you! haha

No, yeah, sure, go stand there and await the next intsructions!

ctr shills btfo

Our sun isn't big enough to cause really exremet warping. But yes, it's does happen.

>earth is the size of a basketball

Typical burger. Just die off already

Yes. Light will bend around gravity wells. This is what makes a black hole black. It is an object with such a powerful gravitational pull that light cannot escape, making it invisible in much the same way as a stealth fighter would avoid detection by absorbing the radar waves of enemy defences.

The important thing to note, however, is that this effect doesn't just bend light, it bends spacetime. In fact, it doesn't bend light at all. The light is still moving along as normal, but since spacetime is bending around it, it is perceived as if light is bending, like a straw being placed into a glass of water looking broken.

Get close enough to a black hole, and spacetime starts to warp and bend. Time moves at a different rate to the outside world, and eventually, you will reach the singularity; the point at which space and time effectively collapse from our view. To an observer, you would be frozen in time forever. From your view (we think) the universe would age to dust in an instant around you.

The thing to note is that no matter the discrepancy of what is happening or when, or in what order, all perceptions are correct at the same time. Spacetime can warp into different shapes as seen from different angles, but all perceived shapes are the same at the same time, even when they are contradictory.

oh i see what you mean, black holes and all those really dense stuff

It is the atmosphere that is round. Think of the perspective of an ant, everything looks flat.

This is a lie.

If Earth was really round, airplane pilots would have to tip the nose of their plane down every 20 minutes or so or they would fly in a straight line out of the atmosphere

Draw it on a napkin if your too stupid to mentally comprehend science

this was a good explanation, thank you man

wtf I hate the globe now

Bro do you even know how gravity and angular momentum work? Do you not understand the sheer size of the planet and how it compares to the speed of your average jetliner?

...

I think you vastly underestimate the size of the earth, as well as the uniformity of its surface. Aircraft must perform constant course corrections to adjust for changes in the ground altitude such as mountain ranges or when flying upland, which itself requires extensive instrument management to avoid crashing as the surface increases its height above sea level, as well as wind currents and differences in atmospheric conditions knocking the plane off course and requiring constant minor adjustments.

Were the earth a perfectly smooth ball a few thousand kilometers in diameter, maybe such overt corrections would be needed, as it is, the issue is entirely imperceptible due to the litany of much more obvious and immediately urgent variables that require constant correction. You seem to think it's easy to fly a plane. It isn't.
