Nah, MLP actually has good likable female characters, not obnoxious tumbr stereotypes, and proved it's message quite well.

It stopped being good last year, now its all filler on characters no one likes. I miss classic SU, it made me less depressed about getting excited for the next episode. Now episodes come within intervals of 9 months and the gems are basically non existent in their own show now, and they were the only reason i was watching.

I find it entertaining.

But it's gone too far. Too many corners have been cut. It hasn't been good since the Peridemption arc.

Actually, it's pretty much the only good show of the 2010s. Transformers Prime and TMNT 2012 had their moments but dropped the ball too much.

I genuinely liked S1 - S2. I'm kind of eh now but it occasionally does some neat stuff at least, the Diamond's characterization hasn't disappointed me for eg.

Prime was decent, I actually enjoyed it myself but I'd be lying if I said it was perfect, so many plots were just dropped or half finished, and it was rushed to an ending.

Its not tounge and cheek when the writers are promoting this as an anti gun episode and they have a but at the end to have kids call thier fucking congressman to ban guns. Its influencing fucking children for political gain, which is nefarious to say the least.

imo, the show went from a great cartoon to a *very* good cartoon. it still has my heart tho. i only wish the schedule was more consistent, since that's honestly what's caused a majority of fan dropoff.

I dropped it at the start of season 4. I mostly just keep up with threads to see how bad it will get.

Everything i stated were facts that happend from either the episodes or the writers tumblr and twitter. I didnt know pointing out real events is now shitposting.

The Diamonds haven't done anything and they've been around since season two, and the only thing to their characters is that they're sad that Pink Diamond died thousands of years ago. They're the least threatening tyrannical dictators ever and are pretty disappointing if they're supposed to be the show's biggest antagonists.
You're right, too many filler characters and one note gems are being introduced and taking up too much time that should be used on the original gems that people actually give a shit about. The Crystal Gems have barely done anything since season three, and the start of season three is when the writers started rushing and botching everything, like the cluster and Malachite.

It feels like they've all just been fucking around for the past three seasons and the writers have stalled everyone's development.
And when I say one note gems I am including Emerald. Emerald was a fucking joke and Lars of the Stars was overhyped trash.

The show only gets nominated for awards for being gay, and it doesn't even win any of them.

Theres too many filler humans that no one outside of the crew likes or cares about. The original three gems, lapis, and peridot deserve the bulk of the screen time and development.

Holding out hope it gets to the point where it's good again; but it's probably not going to.

>remove the one dimensional townies and replace them with better characters

>remove lapis or make her less of a boring bitch
>remove the episodes where steven spends the whole time crying over nothing
>add episodes that bring mystery and development to the gem's culture
>add episodes where the gems go on adventures and simultaneously further the plot
>stop giving steven op powers that turn him into a mary sue
>stop lazily relying on steven's gay dream powers to push the show's story forward
>let the antagonists gain depth by showing what they're doing when steven isn't around
>don't let antagonists job against teenagers as a joke if they're supposed to be powerful and high ranking because it makes the entirety of homeworld look nonthreatening and incompetent
>let the cgs and antagonists use their fighting abilities and technology to their full potential so the antagonists can be more threatening and the cgs can look less stupid

This. I started getting a bad feeling when the Malachite vs Alexandrite fight scene showed up, but it was tolerable enough for me to give it a pass. When the CG's were fighting Topaz and Aquamarine like it was a turn-based JRPG is when I realized there was no hope for good action in this show.

Because it's good and not shit.

The main thing killing the show is the way they push aside major characters for long stretches of time and keep abandoning big plot lines about homeworld and the diamonds wanting to destroy Earth for episodes about people's boring lives in Beach City. The townies have no reason to get as much screentime as they do when they're all so flat and their problems are all so stupid and similar to each other, you can tell that the storyboarders don't even give a shit about them. The townie episodes need to become more intertwined with the gems and the overall story and the original gems need more focus than all the new ones that keep getting introduced.

It feels like less because nothing mayor has actually happened.

There have been some revelation and some new characters have been introduce but the status quo post Peridot hasn´t change that much. You could barely notice that lapiz is gone since she was in that barn anyway most of the time.
