>Which is to say: historically, the genre's organizing principle is that the only thing keeping fascism from happening is that straight white dudes are chill.
Isn't this basically why the revival of white nationalism is so demonized? Because the last time it happened it took the entire world to stop?

Not sure the guy writing this was Sup Forums

Carol is slowly morphing into the Ubermensh ideal form

Except for her vagina, of course

What I don't understand is that a majority of the time the superheros he claims are fascists expressly don't want to rule or control anyone, they fight to promote freedom and safety not by their own design but by protecting citizens and letting them lead their own lives. Essentially it's like calling Jesus a fascist for saving everyone's souls but only HE could have done it.

It's almost as if superheroes don't exist to embody one singular idea and are open to being interptreted differently depending on the writer their values. But that couldn't possibly be true :^)

It's an NPR editorial. Of course it's not Sup Forums. If anything folks here would call it tumblr.

Well Superheroes are fascist. Alan Moore pointed this out decades ago.
But just because they're fascist doesn't mean they're evil even though most of us see fascism as literally Hitler

She gonna dress up like Isla the She-Wolf.

Will Kamala lick her boots?

I would say he pointed out how they could be fascist. Keep in mind Watchmen are extremes and he has written stuff that is positive, especially superheroes. I would say though he seems to have more disdain for English lit, I mean look what he did to Harry Potter.

Funny. Casual media has held the same view of superheroes for literally 30-40 years.

Only in America!

Woo these next eight years.
