It was garbage but the puppet design for Blue was still pretty cute.
Damn I must be old to think the original was the best but there's something amazingly charming about that simple construction-paper art style it used to be in. It made it visually interesting and I remember kids could try emulating it through arts and crafts. Hell I think that was half the point of the style in the first place.

Look, I don't want to sound like a scrooge. But I only ask these two questions... If the reboot happens, why are they going down the CG route? Why can't they stick to the shows roots and keep the characters 2D like before? I mean the old Blue's Clues animation was very limited and looked cheap, I don't see how it would be hard to mimic it in flash/toonboom or whatever the hell big animation studios use to produce 2D animations.

Animated is mainly needed for life action movies and the majority of animation for that is CG. It's pretty foolish to think that it won't have any impact on fully animated projects.

Because the current generation of kids/audience prefers 3d/cgi over 2d/practical effects. The worst is there is market evidence to support this and that's why practical effects have been dying in films too. It's also a shitty thing, but original IPs due worse financially than ones based off something preexisting or is reboot/remake. It's like this for games and movies and explains why everything is a remake or sequel.
