When you sell products so cheap, and pay your workers equally cheap wages, you trap them into a cycle of being reliant upon yourself.

Walmart is and has successfully created a monopoly akin to the old miner-towns where the workers would be paid with fake money only usable in the town under the guise of "protecting them from paying too much from an item" when in reality it was just a scheme to prevent the workers from ever leaving.

From what I've heard, wal-mart's actually a pretty baller employer to work for as far as retail goes. If you work hard and show promise and basically not be a fucking potato, you can advance pretty quickly. They're all about internal promotion and opportunities for people that actually give a shit. It's not a bad place to start, especially if you live in the middle of fucking nowhere without many opportunities to begin with. Every employee I've ever seen bad mouth them was a nigger that probably is a shit worker.

No if you want full disclosure, I work at target and it's shit. Most people I work with don't have any real career goals past working for a better retailer. I know several that have gone to wal-mart and loved it. They get like $.50 raises every 6 months, holiday bonuses (modest but a bonus is still a bonus), and one chick that went over was promoted to management on the spot. I mean I've heard lowes is amazing to work at too. Wegmans and costco are also good, and now we're getting cuckmany retailers expanding over here (virginia), and everyone's trying to work for them because they expect better pay and benefits (not sure how true that'll end up being, but the tards I work with expect German retailers to be more humane at face value).

Full time workers don't get food stamps unless they have children they can't afford to take care of and Wal Mart wants to increase the minimum wage because it hurts small businesses more than large businesses.

He's wrong for a couple of reasons.

1.) Walmart's profit margin is under 3%. They wouldn't even be able to pay their workers much more if they wanted to.

2.) For many of the people who work at Walmart, this is the only job they will ever be capable of doing and Walmart is literally the ONLY company that would ever hire them. If it weren't for Walmart some of these people would depend entirely on the government so Walmart actually reduces the burden on the government rather than taking advantage of government benefits.

When a Walmart comes into a town, smaller stores wither and die because they can't compete. This eliminates job options for people and if your only work experience is Walmart you're not moving up any time soon. Sure you could try to play the game and get promoted to look for an out from a higher fiscal vantage point but the inter-store politics are vicious as hell and you will stab people in the back to succeed or be backstabbed yourself. That and Walmart has a very high employee turnover rate because it's just a shitty place to work.

I wanna talk about my own trade in the context of UBI, namely: skilled trades.

I worked with a 32 year old gentlemen who worked for 9 years at wal-mart who decided at 30 to pursue the venerated trade of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration. He had started about 3 months after myself.

Another gentleman I worked with was a combat veteran from operation desert storm. His eyes were always darting around and he pulled over to help an obese black woman who was being accosted by a skinny black dude half her mass stating "women cant defend themselves".

The black dude was on the ground shouting for help as the fat bitch was hitting him with her purse while his eyes were darting around looking for snipers. I didn't want to lose my job or my bonus so I just tuned all this out.

So my question to you is, how does this former wal mart workers incentive to become a "better person" by climbing up into rich fuckholes cat-shit infested attics to change out their worthless rusted machinery that's 2000 years old for priceless pieces of engineering using woefully inadequate PPE for $20/hour in an environment that has cooked my brain and literally killed some of my coworkers(do you wanna hear stories, little man?) instead of his oh-so-little minimum wage plus UBI commie check?
