People always have this romanticized view of how vigilantes serve justice and are heroic and shit.
The truth is, any lone-vigilante would get shot after a week. Vigilantes don't have the means to carry investigations, find evidence, and fail short on pretty much everything that's needed to prosecute criminals, they are unqualified to judge if a person is innocent or not.

I don't think they're necessary, but it'd be cool if there were actually effective vigilantes with costumes and technology based powers or peak human physicality.
