Miyazaki doesn't hate anime. He hates anime catered to pedophiles.

And Alan Moore doesn't hate comics. He just thinks that comics that are just there as adventure stories are for children.

Industry doesn't directly mean medium

Kirby

who cares?

Miyazaki hates with less intensity but more sorrow.

Moore hates with greater intensity and less sorrow.

Danny Antonucci

Miyazaki is the more hateful person just for the fact he pretty much disneyfied a japanese war criminal, that scumbag.

Miyazaki doesn't hate animation. He said he was lucky that he done what he likes for so long. He dislikes many things, but not animation as a whole. Moore is a strange case. He does seem to enjoy comics in his own bubble, but he is also a destructive weirdo, even to his own stuff sometimes.

Miyazaki is introspective and critical. Alan Moore is disenchanted with the industry. They've both earned the right to be, but Moore is closer to outright hatred. Although I wouldn't characterize it that way.

Anno would be a better example for the Sup Forums side of things.

>Miyazaki doesn't hate anime. He hates anime catered to pedophiles.

so he hates his own work?
pretty sure he's just a bitter old man that's angry his son surpassed him years ago without even trying.

Yeah Miyazaki seems to have an incredibly narrow view on what " decent" entertainment should be. That goes beyond just hating otaku culture

What has his son done? Very few people have surpassed the Nausicaa manga as is.

Anno goes back and forth.

He did Tales of Earthsea and From Up on Poopy Hill, neither of which I would call "surpassing" anything his father did.

Who was in the wrong here ?

He's just a cranky old man riding on past fame lucky enough to be in a culture where questioning elders is unacceptable. That he happens to occasionally be right about otaku doesn't erase all the times he is wrong.

His first movie was an adaptation of Le Guin's Earthsea novel and it got him the Japanese equivalent of the Razzie award for Worst picture and worst director

>riding on past fame
Except his movies are still good

>anime catered to pedos

this may come as news to you, but cartoons children are not real and weirdos jacking off to cartoons instead of real children is a benefit to society.

>destructive

you mean deconstructive

He doesn't hate the industry the industry hates him.

Nice meme thread.
