This scene is what hooked me on Usagi Yojimbo. Usagi did everything right. He tried to duel with wooden swords. He made it clear he didn't want to fight. When the crowd cheers for him he chastises them. But, despite everything Usagi did, a woman is widowed and her child is orphaned. The road of the ronin is strewn with bodies, no matter how noble Usagi tries to be.
