The script is written by the comic's writer himself and I read an interview with him about how he was heavily involved the movie, it's been his baby from day one
I really love the comic but thought the trailer looked bad and made the movie out to be a bad urban fantasy rather than what it's actually about. Though I think the expectation of the "giants" is an important part of the comic's experience, I'm afraid that the tone of that trailer will turn people off from seeing the movie.
I'm gonna take my parents to go see it tonight, I'm really hoping it's good, though it does look like it's already a flop
