It isn't a question of "whether it is correct". It's like asking if gravity is correct.
The way we view the world is a construct of our brain and upbringing. African tribes have different genetics and live in different environments. Some traits beneficial to warrior societies for example might be harmful to more peaceful ones.
For example if you look at it this way it is much easier to explain why Muslim cultures allow polygamy and martyrdom while western cultures discourage it.
Since Islam was founded during wartime (Mohamed being a warlord and such) it is understandable that more men would die during war leaving a surplus of women and slaves. Opposing that Christianity was founded during relatively peaceful times (Pax Romana, Jesus being a carpenter, etc) when allowing men to have multiply wives would just lead to instability.
