No wonder no one is joining it. If the RFA is just RN-lite people won't join it.
Tyler Ross
I find it funny that most of brit/pol/ supports squaddies, but are then triggered by pictures like this. Clearly never been on the piss in a garrison town.

The appeal is the laxer entry standards and, judging by the ones I've seen, laxer fitness standards.
But I'd never heard of the RFA until about a year and a half ago, I think a big issue is lack of publicity.
Luke Jenkins
I don't think it's the exact moment and the people in the picture that's degenerate, I think it's the implication that people do that sort of shit religiously. I can understand some squaddies blowing off steam, but I think it becomes rotten when it turns in to a lifestyle and not just a way of relieving stress.
Samuel Rodriguez
I could just link you to my flickr account to save time

Soldiers get a pass though, they're soldiers.
Alexander Diaz
True, it'd also be hard to kind of advertise for, promoting a civilian component of the Royal Navy is a hard sell. If someone wanted to work at sea they'd probably go for far more well known private companies, if someone wanted to serve their country they'd just join the RN proper.
I think it is more the reasoning behind it. It being banter is different to someone doing it for sex.

Counting sleeping bags and cam netting 95% of the time gives me a pass?
These rules seem very arbitrary.
We had 3 brothels outside camp which was about 5 miles from the nearest town in Lower Saxony, and after a stressful day of going for a light run and copying some paper work for the troop commander, they would be turning people away from the doors because they'd be full.
Soldiering isn't particularly stressful, its practically NEET life most of the time.
Justin Collins
which of our former colonies if the most based?
Jordan Campbell
It's not degeneracy, it's progress.
Oliver Parker
Australia easily.
Joseph Perry
Falklands, there is nothing that produces more salt than angry Argies.

>We had 3 brothels outside camp which was about 5 miles from the nearest town in Lower Saxony, and after a stressful day of going for a light run and copying some paper work for the troop commander, they would be turning people away from the doors because they'd be full. I forgot to account for the massive amount of doing naff all in the name of Queen and country you fuckers do. This kind of shit is quite degenerate.
Julian Robinson
Remember when based David Starkey called out black culture on Newsnight? Was watching it live. Pretty based. youtube.com/watch?v=OVq2bs8M9HM

Which of your former colonies is not a cesspit of the dregs of humanity?

I think most merchant navy vessels have less staff than your average RFA vessel, so they would likely have much higher educational standards. RFA will accept anyone as a Deckhand.
Ian Sanchez
New Zealand, Fiji, Bahamas and the Maldives all seem aite
>Votes in favour of rejoining the Argies >3 (three) >0.2% of the total
Nolan Torres
Australia.
No question about it.
They put their "refugees" on islands and make the conditions so shit they don't want to come back. None of this giving them whatever they need to survive bullshit.
Hudson Moore
>those 3 votes
Someone was either having a bit of a laugh, was drunk, or put it in the wrong box.
Kevin Sanchez
I bet they were the only niggers on there as well, o the only Argies.
Carson Reyes
Same thing surely
Zachary Thompson
I'm out now, but Squaddies are very degenerate. Born out of bordeom and "Lad culture" is prevalent.
John Cox
How's that been going, Laurie?
Hunter Hall
I didn't realise the argies were still after the islands. I thought it was a political distraction tactic employed by the Junta. They're democratic now right?

They probably live better than mainland Argies, only an idiot shoots themself in the foot.
Did you miss the joke?

On the one hand, I have a lot of respect for soldiers, they are doing something that I'd never have the guts to do voluntarily.
But let's not kid ourselves, a lot of them are uneducated and immoral, only in the army because they couldnt get any GCSEs, and if they werent on tour they'd probably be knocking up some 16yo chav and getting in fights at the pub.
I like to think that serving in the army might turn them into better humans in general though, so it's not necessarily a bad thing.
Caleb Roberts
Ah, right, the whole SWEDEN YES thing, I did, it's quite late for me
Starkey is always brilliantly sharp, the only dud interview I've ever seen with him was the one shortly after his husband died after the EU referendum where he sat there and let some dyed-hair young girl lecture him about how he was an old white man for about two minutes straight, bit sad that
Samuel Edwards
Didn't alot of Argies disagree with the war to start with?
I don't know a great deal about it, but I believe I read somewhere that the war was born out of a rivialry between the leadership of the Argie Air Force and Navy and one of them invaded without the consent of the others to try and gain some """easy""" prestige.
Sebastian Ross
I think he meant >STARKEY NO As in 'dont reveal your power level'
Aaron Powell
Of course loads of soldiers are complete spastics who joined because they had no other prospects, still top lads for doing it though. In fact that's a big reason as to why I want to join, I'm not a "lad" though I'm rather quiet and reserved.
Not really sure, but from I can gather from Argie opinion on here not too many of them really care about the rocks and it's mostly just the government trying to act big and tough.
Cameron Foster
This has usually been the case in history.
Wyatt Kelly
I'm so glad we have based political presenters
Kevin Richardson
Indeed, poor Starkey is making his life harder for himself.
Dominic Collins
Tbh spastics who can't get gcses can be good craic
My mates that I met through uni are way more boring than the retards I met through school/ grew up with
Nicholas Sanders
Not sure about that, but it could be a factor.
From what I understand of it, the military Junta was really cocking up the economy and dealing with growing public unrest. They used the islands as a distraction from the domestic problems and to rile up some patriotism.
They gambled that the small garrison would be easy to defeat and that we wouldn't be able to (or willing to) retake the islands once they had invaded.
Joshua Hughes
They`re all old, I`m scared for what will happen when they retire. Someone like Owen Jones will replace them.

Justin Diaz
With this in mind, YouGov worked with Britain’s Regius Professor of Political Science, David Sanders from the University of Essex to conduct a study across twelve European countries to attempt to quantify the layout of the political landscape from this new perspective.
The results may well be cause for concern for politicians in mainstream established parties across the continent. The study has revealed that in eight of the twelve countries, almost half of voters – if not more – hold authoritarian populist views.
---------
Well, I call bullshit on pollsters nowadays, which is a shame, because if this poll were correct, Le Pen would win handsomely.
Caleb Smith
Lads, let's beat the krauts with the 'hard Brexit' meme It can't get hard enough for me, I would make ex-pats return(or leave Europe) and send all Europeans home who don't fulfill the international requirements, i.e. Earn £35k+ per year Goodbye streets full of gypsys and eurodrunks
Samuel Jones
Just retards.

Le Pen actually needs to get over 50% of the vote to not lose, french politics is actually worse than ours.

You mean the research vessel thing? Or was there more?

Didn't they also think we'd just not try?
Connor Howard
It would be that way if we had a shit European system like PR too

In Britain, almost half of voters (48%) hold authoritarian populist views. The data suggests there are four distinct tribes of British voters – two of which hold authoritarian populist views and two which have a liberal outlook.
--------
(((Polls))) say half of Britain is authoritarian-populist, meaning it's probably more.
Jaxson Howard
If it is from brit/pol/, and as we discussed last night, I hope it isn't - then I hope it is something like the rivers of blood speech with a picture of enoch powell
Joshua Richardson
Legitimate military ships, not just research vessels. I guess the Spanish got pissed off because we shot flares at their people once too often, so it's a military thing now.
Jackson Long
Never stay up until 6am working on a project fuck me am I dead or alive rn

I can't see Le Pen winning. Nor am I a pessimist; I predicted Trump would win throughout the campaign.
Sebastian Reed
>populist
This is just a word liberal elites use to try and invalidate right wing views.
Jordan Ward
They literally thought America would stop us, it was meant to be done diplomatically, they were unfortunate that Thatcher needed the popularity boost that a war would give her.
Josiah Hughes

Le Pen soon.
Liam Sullivan
Agreed.
Never do an all-nighter, period..... Unless you're staying up to watch Brexit win the EU referendum.

What is authoritarian populism? Seems like an oxymoron.
Grayson Barnes
I don't understand what the elitists must be thinking when they criticise populism, which literally means "the people against the elites"
