define bettering humanity

Improving society as a whole in some way, or as inside the parenthesis states, does it help a specific person or group of people?

define improving

Like, the action of outlawing murder and enforcing it, that would improve society.

>that would improve society.
not if you enjoy murder

False. Murder can often improve society, depending on who is murdered.

If you follow the flow chart, murder is an action that would define as 'bad'

Obviously you don't live by the chart literally, there will always be exceptions

if OP thought Sup Forums would come to a different conclusion. he should lurk more

Your flow chart is bullshit. It doesn't even justify why bettering humanity ought to be considered good. It just assumes it is. The entire premise of your chart is flawed.

I'm hardly ever on Sup Forums lmao

Why?
You still have not defined bettering humanity

You got me there.

Then the chart doesn't even have a purpose. "Follow it except when you shouldn't"

>It doesn't even justify why bettering humanity ought to be considered good
this

I wouldn't pick it apart. I would simplify it

Is it beautiful?

>Y
Then it is good
>N
Then it is not good.

The problem is someone on top decides what is and what isnt "bettering humanity" and you end with the standard liberal dilemma of putting too much faith in corrupt people

Thanks for your input guys, I thought about it for awhile and I just wanted to hear from the most critical people on the internet.

That's a great info graphic. Where'd you get it?

You should probably read a book first. Your thoughts are an incoherent mess based on jewish mindcontrol. I suggest you start with Plato, because it's excruciatingly obvious you haven't even picked up Rhetoric, or the Symposium.

thanks for sharing this, image is pretty insightful

lol

i think it was in some infographic thread on crippledchan's /christian/ board a few years ago

"Better" implies there is a standard of good

What is good? That which fulfills the function of a thing

Therefore for an action to be "good" it implies humans have a function

How did humans get this function? from a designer (God)

Therefore actions that align with God's will are good, those that do not are not

What is God's Will? The Natural functioning of man (moral, rational, social)

Short explanation but those are my thoughts

I made it from my apparent dumb dumb brain in ms paint

ayn rand
action: is it good for my life? does it not steal from or restict others? then it is good
dont start with group
there is no society
only individuals
taxation is theft
capitalism is good and made usa no1 and hong kong our only equal
socialism caused great depression and 2008

>apparent
You don't know the half of it.

Consequentialism is lame

Actions are intrinsically good or bad regardless of the outcome.

For example, it is morally wrong to steal property from someone because every individual has a natural right to property (see Bastiat's "The Law" and John Locke's "Two Treatises of Government") and no individual's rights are more important than any other individual's rights.

Read Kant.

Deontology > Consequentialism

...

I'll look into that, thank you.

Regardless of your motivations for coming to Sup Forums, I legitimately recommend you read Plato.

You said some other bullshit is a good resource. It's not. Reading Aristotle before Plato would be like painting a masterpiece on the face of a postage stamp.

I need you to read this

goose.ycp.edu/~dweiss/phl224_human_nature/plato_symposium_selections.htm

I need you to do this, because it's basically what you're trying to express, except not fucking stupid and wrong from the beginning.

Thanks for the resources, I came for input and other people's thoughts unfiltered. Although I wasn't looking for insults to my intelligences I'm not surprised that I got 'em. I mean this is fucking Sup Forums.

Everything is relative.

>Kill all niggers
>World is literally X10 better for the rest of our lives.

Okay. It's collectivist trash. Saying that all actions must better "humanity" just means that whoever has political power at the moment can dictate to everyone else what they're supposed to do or not do.

Wiping out all niggers.
>does it better humanity
Yes.
>Will it have a bad long term reaction
Quite the opposite. Space here we come.

my man!

Of course a leaf would ask for source when source is already on the infographic.

This is the second reason why I posted what I did here. Fucking lol

h-heh, I didn't see that. Thanks.
