I've looked into Norse paganism and I actually think it's a religion I can get behind and practice. And it's the religion of my ancestors.
I don't really like a lot of Christian stuff aside from cathedrals and Italian art.
But everytime I see paganism brought up they just get accused of LARPing and just trying to be edgy and contrarian (and frankly a lot of people ARE like that).
So I ask if there is a way I can be a genuine pagan without being grouped in with the LARPing faggots. I believe in pagan values and want to live by them. Is it just a meme religion? Or can it be taken seriously.
That...is actually true now that I think about it.
Nolan Jackson
YES GOY... WICCAN PAGANS ARE EXACTLY THE SAME AS RECONSTRUCTIONIST, NATIONALIST PAGANS....
Christian Collins
somoene correct me if i'm wrong, but haven't most occult religions been made up whole-cloth in the last 2 centuries, by people like crowley?
Jace Wilson
If you study diligently, you can of course become pagan without merely LARPing.
Won't stop others from accusing you of LARPing, though.
Carson Turner
Pagan values are mostly about family and nature celebration.
You wouldn't even have to change too much since we still celebrate a lot of pagan holidays like yule and whatnot.
Samuel Reed
Pretty much. The people who start these religions will claim that there's a connection to pre-Christian Europe, but that connection is spurious at best and usually based on some ancient-looking symbols or something superficial like that.
Caleb Price
Not really Crowley, but the 19th and even 18th centuries. However, there is nothing saying that you can't entirely skip them over. There hearts were in the right place but they gotta be put into context. Remember, the National Socialists spawned directly from these people.
We all gotta start somewhere user

>Following a religion you don't actually believe in because it seems "cool" >Not following a religion because it's the truth.
I'm a follower of Christ Jesus because it's the Truth. I would never follow a religion, especially one I don't believe just to do it and I don't believe anyone should follow a religion for any reason other than it being the truth.
If you don't actually believe the pagan gods exist, which virtually no one actually does, you may as well be an atheist or at least agnostic at least then you can be honest about what you believe.

I don't really know how many pagans are under the "other religion umbrella". I imagine that there would be more Hindus and Buddhists than pagans.
Logan Ward
Nothing wrong with it, as long as you aren't a faggot about it. Just do what feels right, and be aware that any actual "doctrine" is probably invented faggotry. I'm a believer in genetic memory, and living more closely to how our ancestors did makes us happier generally. Dogs, gardening, hunting, and handicrafts also apply here. Paganism was practiced for tens of thousands of years, it's unlikely that our ancestors did it for that long without changing our DNA in some way.
Logan Russell
>Just do what feels right See. Leftist, liberal filth

no one really knows what pagans actually practiced though. It's mostly made up by crowley and the other "hermetic scholars" or whatever they were.
Isaiah Cooper
What's your point? He's not necessarily talking about re-constructionists or occultists. That quote doesn't negate that the NatSocs came directly from the Thule Society. I'd wager he wasn't talking about the occultists at all. You guys always attribute this to any non-Christian elements in the Reich - but who was Hitler talking about? Who is this group or were these groups?
Hitler devoted the 2nd edition of Mein Kampf to Eckart, he also kept Viligut who, I say as a pagan, was a fucking nutjob. There's no need to mention Himmler, one of the most powerful people in the Reich who put in power, who certainly was a Pagan, and then there's Rosenberg, behind the Reich's philosophy, another Pagan. Then there's Hess and Striecher.
Taking one Mein Kampf out of context is ridiculous. You can't just cherry pick pieces of the entire corpus of the Reich in a "gotcha!" maneuver.
Lincoln Garcia
When I was a Christian I was a non literalist. I believe in the ideas and don't take the stories literally. I never thought there was a sky daddy, but it was the idea that the sky daddy represented.
I've looked into paganism, and I like the ideas and culture better. Not because it's cool, but because it's better. Christianity too me seems like a form of spiritual slavery.
Nicholas Lewis
That's not true. We do know what pagans practiced, from each major pagan group, from a combination of archaeology, history, and even linguistics. The religion of the Greeks and Romans is extremely well documented. At the very least, we know the main concepts, like:
>World accepting >Loyalty to in-group >State and religion inseparable >Celebration of festivals (of which we have the most information for for Germanic and Celtic groups) >Veneration of ancestors; Gods as ancestors >Fidelity of oaths >No division between sacred and profane (IE every action you do honors the gods, so make your actions good) >Mythology as guidelines/metaphors/ancestral worship
you can be a pagan without being a larper but not without being a faggot, faggot

Jonathan Anderson
Essentially if you do it on your own you can avoid Larping.
However if you wear a silly outfit and conduct rituals with a sort of pseudo priesthood... well done you're fucking larping.
The only logical conclusion regarding religion is to be an agnostic, and then decide, can I live without the primal need to pretend that there is more to life than this? If no, then become religious to avoid depression. I'd advise either thoroughly reading through lots of man made religions and various philosophers and bullshit up your own religion. Though an atheist if I was to believe anything, it would be that the Warp from 40K or at least the underlying premise of it, is real, and what we collectively believe informs the afterlife. (I mean fuck me, meme magic seems to have kicked something off though I'm still telling myself that's the physical impact of the zeitgeist changing due to economic woes and the rebellion against authority attempting to keep the status quo.)

Sometimes I honestly think that the warp is fucking real. Recent events have only reinforced my beliefe that the warp is real in some sense.

Shepard's are for sheep. They preach dogma, without getting the individual to think for themselves, and attempt to cultivate an individuals mind to a set of arbitrary belief's on the basis that, due who wrote this ages ago said so, and those who believed him coerced everyone else to do so. I'd said pick a religion if your not smart enough to think for yourself, but hell that is one hell of a confession to make.
The closest that I could ever justify that a priest-like position be set up would be if you made meditation, or hypnosis part of your belief system, and they led it, but they weren't involved in preaching anything to you. The role of a priest being fulfilled as a purely cosmetic crutch could be understandable for a thinking person, a full blown preacher... not if you can make up your own mind, or change priests every day.

Specific religions survived for multiple reasons, which are worth looking into, but they are largely man made bullshit specific to the time, or added for very human reasons(Old testament, kill the people, keep the girls, distribute the land to your young men who survived the war), and many people in the future will think of far better systems of morality to their own tastes in the future and look upon us as hapless cavemen(because if the future is actually better than the present, we had more scare resources and morality outside of game theory morality, is a luxury to be afforded).
The only real exception to this is the Talmudic tradition of the Jews, which has resulted in one of the highest levels of atheism among them, while still remaining Jewish, because the Rabbi's debate and go through a process of discussion and provoke thought. But this method is something that children mostly benefit from, and doesn't specifically need a priest but our society as it is could do with a secular form of this teaching. (I'm a cultural catholic because the religion is fucking sticky) 2/2

The term Pagan too, Ásatrú is a religion like any other unique, sure it prolly have some customs in common with other dead religions that were not saved. Meh if they even care about politics here it will be as with other groups, different from person to person.
That said, we want them all to go. The King shall pick his hird and they shall be the best of MEN, he shall have his earls and herses back.
He shall not have any say in law making, this is decided by the people, the MEN who shall vote for it at the annual Þing(court). The Þings shall be (here) spread over where they where (they are already) and the people there vote on their own laws, and have their own constitution.
The King is the Ruler of the country, and the leader of the Army.
Gassing the pols is just a dream though lol, but they are all fucked up here.

Also I'll have a look at these, I only use the sites I mentioned earlier as it has the raw material which is what I'm after. Also got a book shelf of sagas both in börk and ON or icelandic.
If you buy sagas, look for an icelandic author. Often things gets lost in translation, since words are missing etc in part poetic ON too, they take poetical liberties and it loses some meaning but they have no choice.
Some translations here even are utter garbage and straight out false.

>Charlemagne was very much a Germanic pagan warlord OK, fuck off no. You do not forcefully convert all Pagans to Christianity, by sentencing everyone to death who; worships or partakes in pagan rituals; partakes in any feasts outside of the christian calendar; those who cremate rather than bury their dead.
Charlemagne was a Warlord, much in the same way the Arian Christians who sacked Rome were Warlords. You cannot just had wave everyone who isn't Christian enough for you out of Christianity. Given that Charlemagne only learnt to read in his later years(at a minimum 60's), and when he did so was one of the first nobles to do so, and institute that the nobility be taught to read, you can somewhat understand him lacking the knowledge of how to be a good christian outside of shit that priests told them. Also given that polygamy was in the bible at the time, and the catholic church was still by all technically under fealty to Constantinople, the priests would probably not mention the complex theory regarding the number of wives a man is meant to have and just shrug and say: "multiple in this part my lord" Killing ok? "Well here it says kill all the men, and married women, leaving only the unmarried women, and take all the land they owned... err... but only if not your religion"
Then again the Old Testament is a bloody warlords manual

Mostly larping. But the answer is in the question. What works for you. That is all the ancients did. Before religion was about social control.
Why race pol? Race is their word. We did not have races. We had tribes. They took our tribes to make us weak. Before that, "what works" was what defined our groups.

A few years ago we got some crazy lesbian bishop here or something, and basically half of country left the church.
We can openly be heathen again without persecution, some are still a bit wary and keep it for them self, others are registered. It's not really needed, you can just go to a goður if you want.
We hope too raise many hovs again, but you can forget any (((state))) support for that! This I can promise you. I am actually not sure if we got any yet, they have so high pressure so it takes like 3 months to get an answer from them.
It's really not required, a barn is enough to perform bloting in.
They found one hov here, one that had been standing since the old, and the "culture minister" filthy paki semite Tadja Hadjik boldozered over it and built buildings.......
I think this is why this heathen is sitting there before parl with a niðstöng (acceptable "curse" for a man to perform)
No this was an archelogical sensation and should have been preserved. The state hates us. Also we're now allowed to take back our heathen names, just recent.
