So you've heard about CNN, Politico, NY times, et cetera being blocked from the White House press briefings.
This isn't a war against "Fake News". Trump is trying to root out dissent in his own administration.
All of these organizations received leaked "Sensitive But Unclassified" information from within Trump's own administration, sometimes before the information makes it to Trump himself (internal memos, etc). Because these documents are technically not classified, Trump can't bring the full force of the DOJ to compel these media entities into revealing the source of the leaks.
So, Trump is going to force these organizations to give up their source if they want to be allowed back into the White House. This is the only deal they will get. Ethically, the press will fight it. But Trump is going to make this deal seem better as time passes by continuing to press the "Fake News" narrative.
>implying this isn't the road to authoritarianism and autocracy
You guys need to wake up and realize what is happening in America right now.
Hudson Long
They know who the source is from their own investigations, but this isn't about quietly firing someone.
Trump needs the media to turn on leakers, to prevent it from happening again.
Jackson Baker
>implying the lefties haven't been gleefully punting us down that road for almost a decade now
fox was excluded from the WH under Obama and you niggers cannot stop fantasizing about taking away the guns, but just forget all that stuff hey, dtdgryumnphgf, amirite??? LOL
Brayden Morgan
So 4D chess confirmed. This is brilliant and the tantrum the media and liberals are going to throw fills up my weekend. Awesome.
Kevin Gonzalez
>implying 90% of media owned by 6 corporations is anything resembling a free press. >implying we would be worse off without them Kill yourself, shill
Adam Butler
This, freedom of the press has been exploited to the point where the press itself actively excludes anyone who isn't a member of their elite club.
Oliver Adams
military parades when?
go full nazis,drumpfkins
James Miller
No, this just IS fake news. There was no press conference today, because Trump spoke directly.
Juan Morgan
>fox was excluded from the WH under Obama
Source?
Cooper Torres
that would be an even dumber move than banning press from the briefings... seriously.
By the way, how fucking stupid do you have to actually ban a news outlet, when YOU control who gets to ask questions. Seriously?
William Cruz
It won't happen. Trump needs the media more than they need his press briefings. He will just continue to isolate himself until he's pushed out for sheer ineffectiveness if he carries on like this. A successful presidency is about good PR. If the people are not well informed about what you're doing, they will not support you.
Elijah Thomas
Google it dumbass. You have to be 18+ to post.
Blake Brown
It's supposedly a one time thing because they moved the Briefing and there wasn't enough room for all of them.
Aaron Cook
also if they cut ties with the leaker and other news organizations NOT part of this ban start leaking then it would help smoke out the leaker. Bannon and Preibus said at CPAC they plan their moves three weeks in advance...they already have most of March figured out
John Nguyen
>ban >ban >ban
there is no difference between a shill and a retard in the eyes of allah, both are equally haram
Justin White
Well, sieg heil with a big smile!
Xavier Lopez
Keep in mind also that these are major corporations. GE for instance does have direct conflicts of interests in reporting news in that they stand to benefit directly through militar contracts and in other industries that can skew their reporting. Board members and major investors are also involved in corporations that stand to benefit from certain policies. This, the consilidated corporate media becomes the mouthpiece to shape public opinion in favor of policy that benefit these other corporations. These are not press organizations. They are PR aparatchiks for major industry whose interests no longer align with the American citizens. They are super-national entities with no loyalty except to their shareholders, and only their major shareholders at that. And it's funny that liberals used to protest WTO/GATT and had Occupy Wall St but have now become the footsoldiers of their corporate overlords proving once again that liberals are useful idiots.
Cameron Ward
I'm already not supporting him because of spicers comments on weed yesterday. Lets kick transgender shit to state level but oh can't let a state decide they want rec weed, oh lord adults can't make choices. ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME
Zachary Sullivan
>root out dissidents So basically Trump is acting like Kim Jong-un? >Anything that I don't agree with is Fake News >I must root out and ruthlessly destroy any dissent in my administration
VX gas when?
Carter Anderson
In this age, he can go directly to the people. Remember FDR's fire side chats? He can go around the media to get his message to the public.
Srsly? A president who does not play the foul game of the biased leftist media, is an autocrat? They are losing control, thats why they cry "censorship" and bullshit like that.
Wyatt James
Why do you guys always make up fake 4D chess narratives. Pretty much all of them turn out to be bogus.
Charles Ross
Dude weed shit is a tool to ensure states going the sanctuary route get proper fucked. Live in a sanctuary state? Well, unseat your government or you are fucked. That's the deal.
Also, stop being a degenerate.
William Rivera
Reported to Secret Service.
Gavin Campbell
federal law exists prohibiting. Legalizing marijuana in a state doesn't change that. Supremacy clause says that federal law > state law.
Do you want your DOJ to follow the law or to be a third world country king-like government where the person in charge decides what laws he wants to follow?
>bbbut muh weed.
Stick it in your anus.
And as for transgeder bathroom, there is no law about transgeder bathrooms.
Nathaniel Jenkins
Lol press giving up informants.
Trump is in delirium.
Nolan Wilson
4d chess meme is autismo overthinking. >Says CNN is the enemy >Locks enemy out
Pretty simple and effective. Also they will never give up a source.
Elijah Stewart
Wake yourself, nigger. You watch CNN, you're a daft cunt.
Jaxon Price
>someone is acting like gooks >full on propaganda paid for by the occupying globalist forces on every tv channel >things that benefit every american reworded to program you into thinking its done to hurt you >complete disregard for our laws >intentional divisions fostered among the population to prevent unity against the occupying forces of globalism
i think your bias is showing, shill
Caleb Hill
only because checked
Isaiah Cooper
To be fair, whites have tried apologizing for being white since forced integration.
It didn't make the world a better place. It made it much, much worse.
Now it's time to try actually fighting back against your enemies. If the mass media is your enemy, don't support it or invite it into your home.
That's going to work out way better than being sorry for being white has.
Josiah Jones
>In this age, he can go directly to the people. when @Jack finally bans Trump from Twitter, we will get /trump/
Josiah Murphy
Acutally, yes. Blocking media outlets because you disagree with their reporting puts him into autocrat territory.
If he were at all competent or respected the system he's now a pivotal part of, this wouldn't even be happening. There would be no media war against him.
Luke Gray
>Blocking media outlets because you disagree with their reporting
Good thing they aren't blocked. They just weren't allowed in to an informal briefing in spice man's office because they never ask real questions and they have their own sources
Zachary Martinez
>spic >intelligent
pick 1
Liam Adams
Thank you for correcting the record!
Connor Gomez
>Trump needs the media more than they need his press briefings.
m8....
Isaiah Howard
> they have their own source
This is a line spiced spencer should drop during the press conference
Tyler Brown
DUDE WEED LMAO
Nathaniel Jackson
>Good thing they aren't blocked. >They just weren't allowed in You fucking serious nigger? Get a dictionary.
There are still a lot of Obama holdovers that need to be rooted out before it can be considered Trump's administration. The dissent s from the marxists that still occupy roles in the Executive Branch. Don't try to shill when everybody knows that the leaks are coming from marxist loyalists that have not been flushed out.
Ian Cox
...
Brody Johnson
You're a moron and this explains why your Island is shit: everyone there is as stupid as you.
Autocrat territory would be shutting them down and not allowing them to operate. There's nothing that guarantees anyone access to the President. I have a blog and he doesn't let me in to press briefings, ergo he's an autocrat, right? Moron.
Jason Cruz
Blocked implies they have a right to attend the gaggle.
Cameron Davis
In their minds they have the right to all of their demands and to receive a participation trophy while they are at it.
Jaxon Morris
>its not autocratic because he's not full-on shutting them down! He's impeding their operation by blocking them from attending the gaggle, something that they regularly do as a major news outlet.
Its a form of media censorship, plain and simple.
Blocked means they were stopped from going somewhere.
Bentley Rivera
>implying a president who supports independent journalism is bad >implying fakestream media isnt controlled by the deep state >implying google, twitter, and reddit arent censoring alex jones >implying that the establishment are not kidnapping, torturing and raping little kids and worshiping SATAN
Jason Foster
Going somewhere that is invitation only because you can't fit 100 reporters in a single office and have a productive briefing
Levi Morgan
CNN is probably the most unbiased of the major US news networks
But not only that, they also barred the BBC.
Fucking trumpweenie apologists I swear..
Andrew Campbell
>grasping at straws I think you missed the part where I said this is something these media outlets regularly attend. The room didn't suddenly change size.
And even if it did, I'm fairly certain you could just find a different room.
People like you have been pushing for mass immigration, laws against white males and white people in general, the removal of the second amendment, full on 1984 control of society's culture, literal violence in the streets against Trump supporters, and a host of related insanity.
And now when someone punches back you cry out, "authoritarians! authoritarians!"
You know what? I don't even give a fuck if Trump literally turns into Hitler 2.0 if it means white people have a future. I've seen what the people you support want - war with russia, nuclear war, thoughtcrime and wrongthink made into legal realities, indoctrination throughout media, and all of it coupled with lies, lies, lies.
You think Trump's the authoritarian, but you've been part of the actual "Nazis" the entire time.
>if you don't agree with what Trump's doing, you're an ultraliberal marxist shill! That's a whole lot of assumptions there, user.
Austin Kelly
did you read the article or did you just post the link and assume it supports your claim? it doesn't.
Thomas Ramirez
I'm forever mystified by the individuals who would give up EVERYTHING for meaningless bait issues like weed or abortion.
Carter Lopez
This is the slippery slope. Barring them essentially means to a way to put them out of business because they report things that are true about the administration that puts them in a negative incompetent light like they are.
He's doing this to warn other news orgs and get on the manic depressive Alex Jones dick. Even the Repubes are saying this is a step back in the wrong direction. If you're doing things like you should in benefit of most of your country men and women you'd be proud those things get leaked. People are leaking because they despise the man and his erratic behavior putting everyone at risk and democracy with it.
Andrew Myers
>The room didn't suddenly change size.
It did. It was not held in the regular briefing room. CNN is misleading everyone by saying they were blocked from press briefing instead of "CNN not chosen from large press pool to attend small gaggle'
Jace Johnson
Did you?
"The White House attempted to block Fox News from a round of interviews with “pay czar” Kenneth Feinberg Thursday, but the Washington bureau chiefs of the five TV networks included in the White House pool refused to interview Feinberg unless Fox News was included."
White House response: "“This White House has demonstrated our willingness to exclude Fox News from newsmaking interviews, but yesterday we did not,” said White House spokesman Josh Earnest"
Maybe read more than the first sentence before you shit the place up with your stupid.
Jackson Kelly
its a meme dip
Luis Butler
ITS JUST A ONE TIME THING FAGGOTS
Kevin Bell
They don't have a right to attend and they certainly have done a lot to garner ill-will from voters.
If Trump had every MSM executive from the lowest to the highest, hung in public, I would be CHEERING. Maybe this is something the media idiots still don't understand. Nobody likes you. We see how much you lie, cheat, steal, and obfuscate. We know the actual damage you're doing to our democracies.
And we know you're also irrelevant. We don't need the MSM for news anymore. I haven't turned on CNN in literally a decade, and I'm more informed than 99% of the population about what's going on in the world. In fact, I'm substantially better informed than any idiot who's tuned into CNN religiously for news every day.
Henry Edwards
Trump protecting us from the scary Mulsims and Mexicans doesn't make up for complete disregard for 1st amendment and freedom of press. This attack on all media can't end well for him.
Camden Morris
this does not support your claim that they were barred from an interview
Proof that only rural and suburban retards voted trump, all the well educated city people voted for hillary. Can't forget those pesky nuclear codes.
Wyatt Flores
>If Trump had every MSM executive from the lowest to the highest, hung in public, I would be CHEERING
leafs don't understand the first amendment
what a surprise
Robert Adams
No. Impeding them assumes there is a right to access the WH. Again. You take this for granted, but no such Right exist. If it did, then all bloggers could assert they too have a right to WH Pressers. So, your argument is based on a faulty assumption. Hereby, consider your argument falsified.
Christian Stewart
>Even the Repubes are saying Always with the appeals to popularity. No evidence, no proof, but liberals always act like everyone supports them and nobody supports you.
Yet here we are, with Trump in the whitehouse instead of the media darling Hillary.
Jack Lee
dude infowars and breitbart are the mainstream shills now
Sebastian Diaz
Trump refusing to talk to the press isn't government censorship.
The first amendment does not give you nor the media, the right to force someone to speak.
Ian Murphy
Government censorship, fuck yeah!!!
Eli Robinson
And that claim was btfo by documents later released proving Obama admin did.
Nice try Shlomo
Angel Mitchell
i don't think you understand how press permissions work. a number of organizations have special permissions to attend WH press briefings and generally those organizations are also given permission to attend events like these.
when you permit organizations that pander to you and bar organizations that do not, the bias is obvious, and it becomes a clear attack on the first amendment.
>>Trump refusing to talk to the press isn't government censorship.
i was addressing the fact that you want to murder people who report news that you don't agree with, you infantile retard.
>CNN is misleading everyone by saying they were blocked from press briefing instead of "CNN not chosen from large press pool to attend small gaggle'
>The New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, Politico and BuzzFeed were also excluded from the meeting, which is known as a gaggle and is less formal than the televised Q-and-A session in the White House briefing room. The gaggle was held by White House press secretary Sean Spicer. Literally taken from the first paragraph of CNN.com's article on the issue.
>If Trump had every MSM executive from the lowest to the highest, hung in public, I would be CHEERING. Opinion discarded.
My argument is not based on any assumptions, its based on reality. And that reality is that these media groups have always had regular access to these events, but not today. They were blocked to impede their regular operations.
Matthew Scott
I didn't get an invite. I write for a small Penny Saver in CA. Is he blocking me? Can I say he is trying to shut me down?
Luke Lee
>blocked from the White House press briefings.
Stop fake posting
Charles Davis
You think it's about pandering, but the reality is that it's because they have been demonstrably biased and dishonest. These type of orgs deserve to be destroyed by the market and be replaced with orgs that will do honest reporting rather than the bidding of their masters which are the 6 corporations and their major investors. They aren't a free press. They are an agenda mouthpiece. Get it through your thick skull.
Daniel Anderson
>My argument is not based on any assumptions, its based on reality. And that reality is that these media groups have always had regular access to these events, but not today. They were blocked to impede their regular operations.
It's based on a misunderstanding. A private company does not have a right to the president's time. You do not have the right to force yourself into an invitation only, informal, meeting.
If so, then I have had my rights taken away because Trump didn't invite me to ask him questions for my Penny Saver article.
Joseph Fisher
>Amerifats don't understand treason
Maybe that's why we elected Obama twice.
Cameron Myers
Reality is that they have no right. Every single day they enter the WH is a privilege. If they take that for granted and assume that is regular operations, that is their mistake. It is a privilege that can be amended or suspended at any given time without prior notice. They are a free press still because they are free to go bitch about it and anything else they want.
Jordan Smith
>but the reality is that it's because they have been demonstrably biased and dishonest.
it isn't the job of the press to pander to the current administration, but it appears that to gain access to the administration, you must pander to them, which is unprecedented in the united states.
>These type of orgs deserve to be destroyed by the market and be replaced with orgs that will do honest reporting
haha yeah, the new york times and the bbc need to be destroyed.
how old are you?
Adrian Thomas
Goodbye CNN, you will not be missed
They really should have purged them on day one
Benjamin Parker
Really if an article has more opinion than news in it, it should start with Op-ed. Otherwise it's fake news.
Anthony Myers
op's post is fake news. the organizations he said are banned. they just weren't invited to the "gaggle" that Spencer held with some media today.
try using facts next time op.
Owen Evans
BUT OBAMA
come on mention hillary or dubya tol while you're at it
Jace Thompson
>unprecedented Oh fucking well, that's a shame!
Pffft, ha ha ha ha ha ha!
You lost, get over it
Grayson Butler
>So you've heard about CNN, Politico, NY times, et cetera being blocked from the White House press briefings.
FAKE NEWS
OP IS A FAG
Wyatt Parker
This is factually correct but ignores the point that enforcing marijuana laws does little to further the WH narrative regarding state's rights. Public opinion has shifted heavily favoring legalization and the supposed policy claims behind the federal laws are looking weaker and weaker.
It's entirely possible, however, that the true policy goals behind the "war on drugs" differs from the publicly purported aims. I'm of the belief it's intentionally designed to lead to high rates of improsonment, with the social policy goal of locking down and freezing the more roudy and less productive elements. Conversely, it might also just be to stuff the pockets of the handful of companies that both own the private prisons as well as the media outlets promoting the crime, thus creating a feedback loop. Could also be a mixture of the two.
