It won't happen. Trump needs the media more than they need his press briefings. He will just continue to isolate himself until he's pushed out for sheer ineffectiveness if he carries on like this. A successful presidency is about good PR. If the people are not well informed about what you're doing, they will not support you.

Keep in mind also that these are major corporations. GE for instance does have direct conflicts of interests in reporting news in that they stand to benefit directly through militar contracts and in other industries that can skew their reporting. Board members and major investors are also involved in corporations that stand to benefit from certain policies. This, the consilidated corporate media becomes the mouthpiece to shape public opinion in favor of policy that benefit these other corporations. These are not press organizations. They are PR aparatchiks for major industry whose interests no longer align with the American citizens. They are super-national entities with no loyalty except to their shareholders, and only their major shareholders at that. And it's funny that liberals used to protest WTO/GATT and had Occupy Wall St but have now become the footsoldiers of their corporate overlords proving once again that liberals are useful idiots.
