Animal Ethics

What's pol's opinion on the treatment of animals?

Do you think animal rights are a thing? Are you for the 'ethical' treatment of animals? How would you define this? Do you care or not?

Discus.

I believe in the ethical treatment of animals. But there are limits because they are animals after all. PETA is a bunch of bullshit they are wicked fucked up. I suppose I just think that animals shouldn't be tortured or treated badly. Kill them quick harvest 99% and call it a day.

There's 984,000,000 mouths to feed. We don't have time to worry about some dumb pigs (food)

I'd pay a few shekels more for a meat provided with the promise that the cow was treated in humane standards.
Won't stop eating meat either way. Tried it more than once, it makes you weak in body and prone to anger.

>are animal rights a thing?

Weird question, rights are concepts, are concepts things?
I think most people do not make a conscious choice in the question and that most people would be inclined to abstain from industrial meat products if they were to witness in detail what the meat industry is.

If I can avoid factory farmed animals I will, but if I have no say in it eg: Food from a Fast-Food chain. Then, well fuck it they are animals after all

That's not the issue, meat is not efficient compared to plant-based foods.

What if we geneticly engineered farmed animals to be super retarded so they just ate, drank, and stood around and didn't have feelings

Well black people are already super retarded we should just eat them.
