yeah one of my coworkers is the type to watch documentaries, and change his life based on them.
usually we make fun of him, but when he saw the sugar documentary he started really watching the sugar intake. it's definitely something no one thinks about, but the sugar lobby is fairly powerful.

Nah, he's a meathead so he already has a mostly in shape body. He drinks a lot of beer on the weekends which contradicts his sugar thing, and he has a small beer belly.
Protip guys, avoid JUICES or DRINKS with sugar : its easy to take in fuck tons of sugar with soda or juice, have water or straight tea, and if you are fiending for sugar, use real honey at least : its good for you and metabolizes better.

I mostly drink tea, carbonated water and coffee (either black or with stevia, depending on how good the beans are).
Honey has the kinds of carbs discussed in the video. It's great for many uses (like healing small cuts and the like), but I'll be mostly cutting it out of my diet.

i had a terrible diet in every way imaginable through most of my 20s, lots of fried food, lots of beer, lots of cakes and candy and chips and probably at least 32oz of soda or some sort of sugary beverage per day... i was an apathetic depressed mess who didn't care about anything and i was piling on like 15lbs per year.
when i was 24 and ~260lbs my doctor had told me i was approaching pre-diabetic territory and my liver enzymes were high and i still didn't care enough to change, and when i got to 26 and 280lbs i just decided one day i wasn't going to take on liquid calories anymore and also cut down a lot on the cakes and snacks and stuff and after 7 months i had dropped 50 lbs (from just that, still eating like shit)
around christmas i gained back about 5lbs and was stuck in that vicinity for four months or so but i've been experimenting with intermittent fasting and finally got a gym membership and i'm in the area of 220 and falling and am finally capable of getting laid again
ANYWAY, i can tell i am substantially healthier, my skin seems softer and doesn't break out as much, and i don't feel chronically lethargic like i did when i was a fat(ter) fuck, but it hasn't really fundamentally changed me or anything... i'm still depressed and apathetic and directionless and i can't imagine how fucked up my liver is from all the years of high-volume sugar intake alongside boozing but hey i am happy that i learned progress is possible.
