Who Am I?

Sup Forums have you guys delved into the question of "Who Am I"?
>> if you say your name, its just a name given to you by some one.
>>If you say your race, its just a name given by someone to the color of the skin.
So who are you really?

One's actual self is that of the spiritual soul, or jiva, manifested throughout the body as pure consciousness. However, due to interaction with material nature, the soul has become forgetful of his true nature and thus is deluded by a false sense of ego. When we are materially contaminated, we are called conditioned. False consciousness is exhibited under the impression that I am a product of material nature. This is called false ego. One who is absorbed in the thought of bodily conceptions cannot understand his situation. He thinks "I am American," "I am Indian," "I am Russian," and so on but he is none of these things. The self is spiritual and thus eternally separate from material designations. Just as a window may be obscured by dirt, the clear consciousness of the self has become polluted by material nature.

In order to factually understand one's position, you should practice the sublime practice of Bhakti-yoga by the chanting of the Hare Krishna mahamantra: Hare Krsna, Hare Krsna, Krsna Krsna, Hare Hare, Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare. By the chanting of this transcendental vibration, one's consciousness gradually becomes cleansed of ignorance and his true self begins to shine through, gradually rising to the spiritual platform of self-realization.

Read the Bhagavad Gita as well, it'll answer all questions.

>>What is pure consciousness?
>> What is spiritual soul?
>> How do you know what you wrote is true or what's in the Gita is true?

>What is pure consciousness?
Pure consciousness, is the manifestation of the spiritual soul, it underlies every single moment both in the waking state, dreaming state, and stage of deep sleep. Consciousness and soul go hand in hand. Pure consciousness is not an artificial imposition on oneself, it is one's original nature, eternal and full of bliss. Just as you need a blank canvas in order to paint a picture, in order to be conscious of anything you must first have a clear consciousness to begin with.

>What is the spiritual soul?

"Some look on the soul as amazing, some describe him as amazing, and some hear of him as amazing, while others, even after hearing about him, cannot understand him at all. O descendant of Bharata, he who dwells in the body is eternal and can never be slain. Therefore you need not grieve for any creature." (Bg. 2.30)

The spiritual soul is one's true self, eternal and ever blissful. This very small spiritual spark is the basic principle of the material body, and the influence of such a spiritual spark is spread all over the body as the influence of the active principle of some medicine spreads throughout the body. This current of the spirit soul is felt all over the body as consciousness, and that is the proof of the presence of the soul. Any layman can understand that the material body minus consciousness is a dead body, and this consciousness cannot be revived in the body by any means of material administration. Therefore, consciousness is not due to any amount of material combination, but to the spirit soul. In the Mundaka Upanisad the measurement of the atomic spirit soul is further explained: "The soul is atomic in size and can be perceived by perfect intelligence. This atomic soul is floating in the five kinds of air [prana, apana, vyana, samana and udana], is situated within the heart, and spreads its influence all over the body of the embodied living entities. When the soul is purified from the contamination of the five kinds of material air, its spiritual influence is exhibited." (Mund. 3.1.9)

>How do you know what you wrote is true or what's in the Gita is true?
What I wrote is not of my own concoction, but directly drawn from the Gita and the mahamantra is drawn from various other Vedic texts. The Gita is directly spoken by God, and all Vedic texts are authored by God and thus considered to be authoritative.

"I am the father of this universe, the mother, the support, and the grandsire. I am the object of knowledge, the purifier and the syllable om. I am also the Ṛk, the Sāma, and the Yajur [Vedas]." (Bg. 9.17)

However, one does not come to the spiritual platform by merely blind faith but he requires jnana, or direct knowledge, in order to progress further. Vedic texts contain transcendental knowledge describing the spiritual science of self-realization. Therefore, like any science, the legitimacy of the teachings can be verified by your own investigation into reality as well as practicing the prescribed yogas therein and verifying their legitimacy. For example, after chanting one round (108 repetitions) of the Hare Krishna mahamantra, one will notice a stabilization of one's consciousness and quelling of mind. After four or five rounds one begins to experience slight transcendental bliss, clearing of consciousness, and overall elevation of consciousness.

You're fucking a white man

I'm just me. Plain and simple. You ain't gotta read so heavy into everything.

We expect your kind to speak English properly. That's what you can be if you put your nigger mind to being something.

You're a sad person, dude. You don't need to be so angry. I don't know what kind of life you live/lived up until now or the people you surround yourself with, but I hope things take a better turn for you. I really do.

I'm the furthest thing from angry.

We give names to everything does that mean everything's a social construct?

If you say so.

Sup Forums is a board of love and peace, stranger.

Where the word "nigger" is used as a term of endearment along with many other colorful epithets and so on and so forth...take care, user.

>So who are you really?
me
>next question?

I am the accumulation of my experiences and the neural connections which have occured in result of them which process thoughts and manifests into how I act and conduct myself in the world.

The color of my skin does not define my race, retard. My genetic history does.

You are consciousness.

That's an interesting question user and I've a few thoughts of my own. An individual is a collection of experiences, preferences, information and actions constantly being analyzed by a biological computer, if you will.

You, as you stand, are fruit of your past actions and, while you cannot change it anymore, you can take actions in the now to shape your future which then will define who you will be. You are not necessarily who you think / pretend / wish you are but who you acted to be

i.e. most larpers here project their wish to be learned in politics, economy, ethics and so on, but few have actually studied it; if asked, they will say that they like these things but the fact they spend more time on games, series and whatnot, proves that, contrary to what they claim, they are people who value other things over knowledge for that's how they've acted.
Yet you cannot have the appreciation of an intellectual and the life of a neet
